Just like any queen, krul sat on her throne, bright ruby eyes peering down at her two subjects. Her long pink hair looked like a water fountain cascading down her back. Milky white skin looked even paler against her black dress, and her thigh high boots.

Uncrossing her legs she stood up, her left hand picking up two medium sized leather pouches. Inside them contained this week's blood rations. The pouches looked so big in her small hands.

Yu almost opened his mouth to say something about how child-like she was, but a jab to the ribs from Mika was enough for him to keep his mouth shut. If he hadn't bit his tongue when he did he would have yelled at the blond, then proceeded to jab him back.

In a matter of seconds she was standing right in front of them. Yu wanted to call her a child again but refrained from doing so, so as to not receive another jab to the ribs.

The moment the leather pouches were placed into their hands they wanted to rip it open, and scarfe down one of the vials in order to ease the thirst even if it would only subdue it for about a day, maybe less before it came back.

Having been in the presence of Krul Tepes herself they refriend from doing so, instead both boys said their thanks as she let her hands fall down to her sides.

She looked at both of their faces then to the pouches then back at their faces. With a wave she gave them the go ahead to feed. This time their thanks were rushed, gloved fingers messily uncliped the metal button keeping the pouches closed.

Even through their thin cotton gloves, and glass vile, they could feel the coldness of the blood inside. The scarlet liquid practically glowed, telling them to drink it.
When the cold blood poured from the vile into their mouths, they immediately tasted metal. The pain in their throats slowly disappeared until they could barely feel it.

Mika whined softly when his vile ran empty, Yu doing the same when it happened to him. He shivered when a cold finger pressed against the corner of his mouth. Krul had wiped off the blood that had trickled down his chin. Once her eyes saw no blood left she turned to do the same to Yu.

When she finished she turned on her heel, taking her place back on her throne. "You won't last forever on my blood" she spoke softly, but loud enough that it wasn't quite a whisper.

Both fleglings looked down at the wine colored carpet. They knew it would only be a matter of time before her blood would be useless to them. The thirst was only growing stronger. Compared to when they were first turned, when the thirst was a mere stinging sensation, it evolved to a clawing inside their throats.

Every inch of their bodies would double over with the horrendous pain emitting from their throats. It hurt so much that their minds would go blank, the only thing they would be able to focus on would be the overwhelming pain.

"we know" Mika balled his hands before relaxing them

With a hum she reached over grabbing a glass of crimson blood. If they didn't already know she was a vampire they would have thought she was drinking a glass of wine.

hovering the glass near her mouth she opened her mouth to speak. "you can go now, your next mission is in an envelope inside the pouches". having nothing else to say, she brought the glass to her lips. Yu let his eyes stare at her throat for a few seconds, the large gulps of blood she was feasting on made his mouth water.

Pulling his eyes away, he joined Mika. Their footsteps falling into sync. Once the heavy doors shut behind them with a thud, a small sign came from Mika.

"another day, another mission" he attempted to smile, however Yu could see the sadness behind his forced smile.

A part of Yu wanted to give in to his desires, and ask him to runaway during their mission. They could leave this life behind, and start a new one, however they already tried that. Running away is what lead to their new beginning as disgusting blood suckers, not to mention they'll have to worry about getting blood.

So instead he choose to give his hand a little squeeze. Seeing a genuine smile take the place of the first one, a smile of his own spread across his lips.

"My mission is a simple rescue, and conquer" Mika read the letter Krul had gave him in his pouch to Yu.

Yu glanced at the letter, then started to open his. his eyes lit up as he scanned over the mission details. "Look Mika!' he practically shoved the letter in his face. It was so close he could feel the paper pressing into his nose.

Pulling Yu's hand back he read over the words written on the thin sheet of paper. "we have the same mission!" he exclaimed.

Giving him a nod, they set off to their rooms. If they headed out sooner than necessary they would be able to spend some time outside the city.

The town they would be "rescuing" from the four horsemen of John were pretty small. Only about forty humans remained there, while the rest either died, or abandon the town. Deciding to go out and find a place they could live peacefully.

Those who left most likely died along the way. Died by one of many reasons. Those reasons include vampires, four horsemen of John, starvation, disease, or betrayal.

Humans can be weak. Some can be a strong. Others can be both. Unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that they are merely human. They will all die sooner or later, it doesn't matter how much they struggle.

The trip to the town took five hours. along the way a few horsemen of John got in their way. It took seconds for them to be slayed. their bodies will become one with the earth in time. Just like the cities and towns were slowly being taken over by plants, and few animals that survived.

Plants could be seen nearly every nook and cranny of the cities. Plant buds sprang up from the cracks for the chance to grow into something beautiful.

Thanks to vampires enhanced hearing, Yu could hear the blood curling screams coming from ahead. Stopping in his tracks he let Mika catch up. He knew Mika heard them too. Unsheathing his blade he began running as fast as his legs could take him. Mika ran right along side him, blade in hand.

When the town got into view, thick smoke filled the sky. Fire. Fire spread across the buildings, engulfing them within the dancing flames. The scent of blood was heavy in the air. The smell alone was like a drug, driving them crazy. Mika could feel his mind going fuzzy. Squeezing his eyes shut he focused on the feeling of metal in his hand, the ground against his feet.

This small distraction gave him enough time to unclip the button on the pouch around his waist. taking one of the viles into his free hand he flicked the lid open with a clank. Gulping done the liquid gave him enough self-control to save the humans.

glancing to his side he saw Yu's hungry eyes eyeing down the humans. He looked like a starving wolf, who finally found prey.

His fangs looked ready to pierce into human flesh. Taking his eyes off the chaos he slipped around Yu. his hand wrapping itself around his waist in order to ground him as they ran.

Repeating the same process he held a vile up to the others lips. Encouraging him to drink. When the vile emptied Yu's eyes were alert.

pulling himself away they split up in order to save as many humans as possible. leaping into the air Mika readied his sword. Just as one of the four horsemen of John went to strike down on a little girl Mika slashed at the monsters body.

Blood spewed up. What looked like bloody rain drops began falling to the floor, the blood would stain the floor reminding everyone of tonights events.

When no more enemies could be seen Mika, and Yu gathered all the humans together. Doing a head count only twenty seven humans were left after tonights events.

Yu looked slightly upset at the outcome. Mika knew he felt awful he couldn't save more. However if they left when they were scheduled to come the outcome would have been worst.

Clearing his voice he jumped up on the roof of a car "everyone fear not, this town is now under the protection of the vampires."

Yu jumped up beside him, a serious expression on his face "All we ask of you in return for protection is blood."

A few people in the crowd immediately started to offer their blood to them. telling them to drink as much as they wanted.

Both of their stomachs sank the more the people looked at them as gods, when in reality the only reason they were sent to save them is because the vampires were trying to obtain more live stock.

When a little girl came up to the blond, he could feel himself wanting to cry. she was timid and scared, yet she pulled down her shirt to reveal her neck.

"I-I want to show you my gratitude f-for saving me, so please drink as much as you want"
