It was already strange enough that vampires would live for hundreds of years, Longer than any human however it's different when you know you'll live for hundreds of years. Once a human, now a vampire.

Since neither boys drank human blood their bodies continued to age. Instead of looking like 12 year old kids for all eternity they now looked like sixteen year old boys.

Despite them being vampires and having superhuman bodies they were still lacking in strength that could only be brought out with human blood.

If they were ever forced or have to drink human blood they would probably be as strong as an 8th or 7th progenitor since they were turned with the 3rd progenitors blood, also known as the queen of vampires.

The first few years of Mika's, and yu's new life were a struggle. Adjusting to the lives forced upon them was more than a difficulty than one may think. Their bodies begged for blood of a human. The thirst soon becoming unbearable.

The only reason why they survived this long is because of their constant blood supply of the Queen. With her blood they were still partly human, not a complete vampire.

Their eyes were not ruby red like the other vamps living in the vampire city. Mika's eyes were still a vibrant sapphire while yu's were a vibrant emerald, the color served as sign of their humanity.

No longer needing human food to sustain themselves on, their bodies became thin, but not like a sickly thin. It was more like a model type of thin.

Yu's sun kissed skin turned milky white. Mika already being quite pale didn't change much. Sharp fangs poked out of their mouths.

Both boys childhoods were cut short the night they tried to escape. If they weren't being trained in combat with swords they were being tutored to gain more knowledge.

Not being full fledged vampires meant having to be the queens dogs. If they were being honest it wasn't that bad. Sure they had to spend mostly every second of every day serving her, however when they weren't they were free to do what they pleased.

They both rarely spent time apart, krul was kind enough to send them out of missions together however there were times where they were sent on separate missions.

You could say they were like two peas in a pod.

Yu massaged his temples as he waited for Mika's arrival. Mika had been sent on a mission that sadly didn't include him so he was desperately waiting his arrival.

He'd been waiting for over an hour, and still no sign of the blond. It was yu's fault for how long he'd been waiting since he came an hour and a half early, but could you really blame him?

He finished training early and having made no friends with other vamps in the city, as well as being feared by the cities children left him with nothing to do but wait for the pending arrival of his only family left in this god forsaken world.

Groaning loudly for what felt like the hundredth time if not the thousand time that very day he allowed himself to fall backwards onto the cold stone slab he'd been sitting on.

He almost resorted to counting every little ceiling popcorn to pass the time, but decided against it thinking it'd drain too much energy.

So instead he closed his eyes. He had to willed himself not fall asleep from how bored he was.

Yu hadn't realize just how much time had passed since he laid down till he felt a gloved finger poke at his cheek repeatedly.

Furrowing his brows he opened his eyes, being met with a pair of sapphire eyes starring at him mere inches away from his face.

It took a moment for Yu to realize just who those pair of stunning sapphire eyes belonged two and when he did his breath hitched. Soft, light blond curls tickled his skin.

"Mika..." Yu smiled softly, bringing a hand to caress his check

Mika only smiled and leaned into the touch. This action brought them closer than they already were, so close that Yu could feel the light breeze of Mika's breathing.

Sadly their little reunion was cut short by the approaching sound of feet.
Mika whined pulling his face away.

Yu huffed in an annoyance at the interruption. It's been a week since he saw his precious Mika.

The pair of footsteps they heard doubled, then tripled, and soon four pairs of footsteps could be heard.

Mika raised an eyebrow. One of the footsteps sounded more like someone getting dragged, not to mention they were in a secluded spot in the city which meant not many people came there.

When the footsteps got loader they could hear a few laughs as well crying.

Soon enough three kids around the age of 13 came into view with a littler boy behind them seemingly being dragged.

"Come on please!" The smallest boy begged, trying to pull his hand away.

The boy dragging him only rolled his eyes and threw him foward with such strength that the poor boy ended up tripping.

The smell of blood immediately filled the air. Both Yu and Mika inhaled sharply however the sounds of the boys wails drowned it out.

Yu shook his head gaining some control over his actions, Mika following suit.

One of the boys with Ash colored hair toward over the one in the floor, his mouth puled into a scowl "why don't you start talking on how you got those fresh vegetables!"

"Yeah! We only get mere scraps!" Another spat

The younger boy lips quivered as he opened his mouth to speak only to clam it shut

"Oi! you better start yapping" the third boy walked closer to him.

Not being able to bear seeing this boy getting picked on Mika walked up behind the three boys, his mouth pulled into a frown.

Locking eyes with the smallest he left out a whimper and tried to crawl away.

"Just where do you think you're going!? You haven't answered my question"

The boys jumped when Mika spoke up "how about you answer my question? What do you think you're doing?"

All three turned slowly to face him, all of them adorning the same terrified expression. Mika almost snorted at their faces however he made sure to keep his expression monotone, the frown he wore when walking up to them long gone.

"Well?" Yu questioned standing behind the boy being picked on.

The raven haired vampire could feel the fear radiating off all four kids.

"I-We were just a-asking our good friend Kai some quest...ions" the third boy stuttered

"Oh? It didn't like it" Yu crossed his arms, his glare turning even more icy.

"I-it's true!" The second boy shouted out

"L-lets get out of here!" The first boy let out a choked sob and began running leaving who they assumed was Kai all alone.

If the boy wasn't already frightened he was definitely now. Body trembled, pupils dilated, lips quivered, tears, and snot streamed down his face.

Mika forced himself to smile softly, his movements were slow when he kneeled down by him. "Hey, there's no need to be scared. We're not going to hurt you" he cooed

It took the boy a few minutes to calm down. His sobs turned into quite sniffles. Both his eyes and nose were puffy, a red tint blushing his skin.

When the boy finally allowed himself to relax in their presence Yu gently picked him up.

His little hands grabbed tightly onto his white suit coat. Kai almost cried again when he noticed he not only wrinkled his coat but stained it with dirt.

Yu smiled softly, patting his head in reassurance. On their way back Mika had gotten the boy tell them where he lived so he could drop him off.

They got many strange looks as they made their way to the kids home. It's not every day you see two vampires carrying a child who looked like he cried the life out of himself home.

Both vampires couldn't help but look around, it's been many years since they walked though the homes the vampires provided for the kids.

If you could even call those broken down buildings a house. A girl who look a bit like Akane shrieked when she caught sight of them.

It almost hurt seeing how scared the children were of them. They got many of these reactions so they made it a habit of never walking near the children unless absolutely necessary.

After placing the child down in front of his home Yu grabbed Mika's hand like it were a lifeline, understanding what Yu was getting at Mika quickly started walking far away from the homes.
