Chapter 3: When Sanskaar met Apsra

"May I come in?" The entire class looked at the entrance and saw Laksh Maheshwari standing. Swara took a glance of him and shifted her gaze back to her book.

"Is this the time to come Laksh?" Susan threw deadly daggers to Laksh who already had kept a sorry face.

"I'm sorry Miss. Susan. I'll make sure not to repeat this again." Laksh apologised to which Miss. Susan nodded and asked him to take his seat. Laksh thanked her and walked in as his eyes searched for Swara and found her at the last of the second. How bad! His seat was on the fourth row and second last. Laksh felt disappointed as Swara not even for once looked him.

The class started. Swara though listened to the class at the starting ended up playing with her pen. She was bored just after 20 minutes and since it was a single bench table she could not disturb anyone. She looked to her left and saw Sanskaar listening to the class keenly. Sighing, Swara looked back into her book to find some interesting chapters randomly and read it to pass time. Sanskaar looked at her for her second and wondered whether it was this Swara Gagodia who's claimed to be the one who has excellent intelligence and a rank holder. She doesn't look like one.

As the bell rang Swara sighed as she was waiting for the class to get over and her wait was over.

"Sanskaar will lend notes of the previous classes to swara." Sanskaar nodded hearing Miss. Susan's words.

"If you have any doubt you can ask Sanskaar, Swara." Susan further informed.

"Sure mam." Swara nodded with a slight smile.

And the periods ran fast in no time. Sanskaar was quite surprised seeing Swara hardly listening to any of the class and was mostly lost in her own thoughts. While Swara was all the time waiting for the break period as she wanted to punch Jay for leaving her in the midway. Sanskaar found her like a puzzle which was difficult to find answers, She was one such kind.

Swara stood first and ran out as soon as the teacher left the class. Laksh came cursing at his own self for waking up late and not making it to meet her at the morning early and he had no idea where she rushed out too. Sighing Laksh went out of the class to search for Swara.

Swara strolled around the school and there she found Aditi, Jay's girlfriend standing outside the art room.

"Hey." Swara quickly greeted her and stared at Aditi for few seconds. She's grown few inches taller, her blonde hair has shortened that it reached near her chest comparing to the last time she saw, Her beautiful olive green eyes still have the same magic to attract people.

Aditi who found Swara staring at her for a long time frowned.

"Yah! Stop staring me." Swara's lips broke into a smile. And she has not changed, not even a bit.

"Where's Jay? I have some unsettled scores with him." Swara asked her fisting her arms.

"Dare you touch my boyfriend." Aditi warned her. When it comes to Jay she was extremely possessive even if it was going to be his bestfriend. She can't stand to look at him with someone else rather than her.

"Hey girls." Jay waved his hands coming out from the Sports room near the Art room. His eyes nearly popped out seeing Swara and Aditi together since both don't really go well and always end up fighting like wild cats now them together, Something's fishy!

"Is that how you leave your friend all a sudden who's back from abroad all the years long?" Swara gritted her teeth while Jay gulped. He was sure in a grave danger.

"Swara you know right? If I go late then coach would make me run another 3000 mts. So I had to leave you right there without explanation. Sorry." He justified his side story. He would not have left Swara only if the couch had not called him back then.

"Since you have a solid reason I'm letting you go." Swara said with disinterest while Jay sighed without anyone's notice.

"Fine you are done talking then I'm taking my boyfriend with me." Aditi  huffed and pulled Jay with her before Swara even say anything.

She started walking in the corridors and that was when she bumped into Laksh. Laksh who was searching for swara found her and was happy.

"Good morning Swara and I'm so sorry for not coming to welcome you." Hearing him Swara rolled her eyes.

"I'm no chief guest to be welcomed Laksh. I'm just a normal student like others and nothing makes me special." Swara's words directly hit Laksh that it hurted him. None had talked with him so straight forward except her. Maybe that's one among the qualities he loved in her no matter how much he was hurted by her words.

"I know but a little welcoming of my fiancee would have made me felt peace." He smiled inspite of her hurting him. She was fed up of him already for clinging on to her despite she had told him for an nth times that the equation between them would never work out, She sighed.

Without uttering a word Swara left the place as she didn't want to create a scene in the first day of her school.

Classes again began and Swara tried her best to listen to the classes. Sanskaar ignored her existence and did his work like another usual day. Many came forward to speak with Swara and just looking at their gaze she knew for which purpose they pursued her and kept it short.

Swara looked at her right to see Sanskaar scribbling notes listening to the class. She was quite surprised to see him not even budge for one time after she greeted him in the morning. She found him different comparing to all others in the class. Sanskaar though felt her gaze sometimes he ignored her completely.

Since the last period was a free period Swara chose to stroll around to see the changes made so that she can adapt herself soon.

"Hey Swara." Laksh didn't know whether Swara was running or walking. She took quick steps that he found it hard to cope up with her speed.

Swara halted with her arms crossed near her chest and with a serious face.

"Uff you should walk slow you know." Laksh let out a sigh.

"If you can't keep up the speed then you should stop rather than following." Swara looked at him sharply.

Laksh knew the words had double meaning yet he shrugged it off since he was used to it.

"Laksh you should seriously stop coming behind me in breaks. Everyone would get a bad idea yaar." Swara explained without beating behind the bush.

"Bad idea? I don't think so. They might only think I'm pursuing you and that's all. Anyways you are my fiancee so I don't need to bother about those rumours." Swara frowned seeing him so casual.

"Laksh! Have you forgotten? Our engagement happened but it is illegal damn it. We were just 15 back then. If anyone finds that out it could bring our father's empire down to the ground in seconds. We are meant to keep it a secret. If you keep doing this and spill the matter out then we are done for." Swara snapped in anger.

"I do remember that sweet heart so don't worry. It's just because you and me are here I'm saying it out." Laksh said.

"Even walls and pillars has ears Laksh. Forget it. You really need to stop coming behind me to stop embarrassing yourself in public." Swara stormed inside the block leaving behind laksh who sighed heavily.

Swara walked inside the class which was vacant except 3 students standing outside the classroom and when she entered she saw Sanskaar packing his bag.

"Hey! Can you lend me your English notes for today?" Swara asked as she walked to her desk packing her own bag.

Sanskaar paused and resumed by taking the English notes.

"There are 3 books and I don't think you would be able to give it tomorrow so take time." Sanskaar said as he placed it on her desk catching her attention.

Swara took one of the books and gave it a glance.

"I'm quicker than you think. Don't worry you'll get your notes by tomorrow." Swara winked with a smile as she wore her bag.

"Thanks a ton and bye Sanskaar. Let's meet tomorrow." Swara walked passing him while Sanskaar's breath hitched for a second. 'Sanskaar' his name felt so good from her.

By the time Laksh was about to go to the block he saw Swara being escorted by the driver and he sighed. He actually wanted to drop her in her house but seems to be his luck not favouring him.

~

"Girlfriend where are you?" Sanskaar peeped into the kitchen but he didn't find her there and not in her bedroom as well. Wondering where she went Sanskaar was about to walk out when he saw his grandma coming from the neighborhood.

"Ha girlfriend there you are. For a second my breathe paused." Sanskaar sighed in relief and held her shoulders softly as they walked back home.

"No Sanskaar, I just went to see if Sona came from the market." Asha said.

"Why do you need her now?" Sanskaar asked making Asha sit on the cot.

"I have her house keys Sanskaar." Asha looked at Sanskaar innocently before her would give her a earful.

"I remember Sona didi giving it you in the morning and she specifically told that she would collect it by coming here." Sanskaar passed a stern look to Asha while she quickly looked away as she was caught.

"It would be better if you tell me why you went there." Asha looked at her grandson who was throwing draggers at her. It was of no use hiding from the boy.

"It's nothing Sanskaar, Sona told me she would give me a---"

"You a?"

"Painting." Asha said.

"What is that? Wait. Is that for the unknown girl's painting?" Sanskaar rolled his eyes as he saw his grandma nodding her head with a smile.

"I can buy you a new painting but why do you specifically want to have that girl's painting only?" Sanskaar inquired more. He had no idea why his grandma was so much fascinated by that stranger girl's art.

"You don't know Sanskaar, her painting speaks about her vision. It's colourful and beautiful and that girl-- Apsra she's so sweet that she sends me letters through Sona whenever I got sick. Such a lovely girl---" Asha continued talking about the girl and Sanskaar was lost. He still couldn't understand the logic, how can an unknown, a stranger attract his grandma so much? Was it because of the letters she used to send? He didn't know...

"Oh my God! You speak so much about that aps-- whatever her name is. So tell me what did you ask about?" Sanskaar asked.

"I've asked for a small scenery and she told she would give me today and--"

"Being excited you went to check if didi  had come or not." Sanskaar completed her words while Asha smiled. Sanskaar silenced for few minutes.

"Fine if you are that excited then I'll go get it for you." Asha eyes widened in surprise while Sanskaar chuckled softly seeing her wide eyes.

"You are really going?" Asha asked again to check if she didn't hear his words wrong.

"Yup. I'll get going now and you better don't get down the bed." With that warning Sanskaar walked out of the house closing the door.

~

Swara dressed in a white blouse and nude pink flare skirt with her hair left free and glasses on her eyes ditching her branded clothing somehow managed to sneak out of the house and walked into the Art gallery.

"Apsra!" Sona beamed in joy and took her in the hug. Swara smiled as she missed being called 'Apsra' for a long time.

"Hey didi. How are you?" Swara asked with broad smile on her face.

"I'm fine. How are you? And you have turned more beautiful." Sona commented.

"I'm fine and thanks you." Swara accepted the compliment.

"Didi, here's the scenery I did for Grandma. Please pass it to her." Swara gave the frame which was wrapped in a silver gift wrapper. Swara got to know about this sweet grandma by Sona didi as once she told she was sick. Swara sent her a well wishing card which later on became letters. She loved the way of how the unknown person loved her and vice versa. It became a habitual that she even passed on letters when she went abroad through mails.

"Sure." Sona took the frame and placed it on her bag safely.

With that Swara walked into the street where many artists and musicians were on the streets painting and playing their musical instruments. Swara fixed the canvas on the stand and started painting, mixing colours in the pallette and splashing and shaping her vision through her hands. She was fully in concentrating on the art and was drawing with a smile on her lips as melodious tunes of flute hit her ear drums and evening sun rays kissed her face while the air blew gentle.

Sona sat on the chair playing a melody using her flute while her eyes were watching the art Swara was creating. Sona had a rough idea of what Swara was painting using vivid colours of burning orange, fire red, bright yellow, crimson and blue on the canvas.

"Isn't that a sunrise or sunset?" Sona asked Swara being all curious.

"Yeah. It's a sunset at spring time." Swara answered sincerely still colouring.

"It's beautiful." Sona exclaimed even though the picture was half done it looked so serene and she wondered what it would look like when the painting gets the whole picture.

Sanskaar walked into the street where people were spread all around in hustle and bustle. He looked around to find Sona through the crowd.

"Oh gosh! I'm out of colours. I'll go get it di just take care of it." Sona nodded  and Swara walked away to buy some paints.

While looking around Sanskaar accidentally bumped into someone smaller than him. He caught her but her flings hid her face from him. Swara quickly stood properly.

"I'm sorry." Sanskaar apologized.

"It's fine." Swara said still not looking at the person and walked away. Sanskaar watched her retreating figure and took a step while he found something was there under his shoes. He quickly took his shoe back and saw a silver butterfly hanging earring. Sanskaar took the earring and looked up.

"It has to be that girl's." Sanskaar muttered to himself. He looked the way she went but she seemed to disappear in the vast crowd. Sighing Sanskaar placed the earring inside his pocket safely and walked further in.

Walking around Sanskaar finally found Sona didi watching a girl painting. He walked towards her.

"Hey champ." Sona waved her hand to Sanskaar who was walking towards her.

"Hi Didi." Sanskaar smiled.

"What is my handsome munda doing here, huh?" Sona winked.

"My girlfriend seems so desperate about the gift that was about to reach her. So I came to pick that up from you." Sanskaar explained.

"Oh that, I already got it even Apsra is here. Why don't you meet her?" Hand overing the frame to Sanskaar, Sona looked Swara who was busy painting.

"Apsra." Sona called but she seems to be too engrossed in her work.

"Apsraaa.." Sona called her more loudly this time.

"What is it Didi?" Swara asked still not turning towards her. Sanskaar didn't know why but somehow found that voice to be familiar to him but shrugged it off.

"Look at me na." Swara being annoyed turned around uninterestedly to Sona.

"What?" Swara looked at her while Sanskaar's eyes grew up in shock and his heart skipped several beats. Swara was all natural with no makeup but her skin looked so smooth, Her eyes looked like a pool of honey reflecting her pure soul, her long hair shone under the sunlight and the refracted rays of the sun looked more alive on her striking beautiful face. For few seconds lost his entire sanity. His sense regained in reality with much difficulty.

Swara? What was she doing here?

Swara too looked at Sanskaar and was equally shocked as him.

The evening breeze blew softly against their skin.

"You?" Both of them mumbled in union.

☆ When their eyes met, their hearts connected, soul collided and their world changed☆
