⚠Crying, talk of past abuse, talk of drug abuse, talk of drinking⚠

They all quickly got out of the car and went inside the hospital.

Amy filled out all the paperwork she could for both boys and they were brought back to a room rather quickly afterwards.

"Hello you two, my name is Nurse Beth, now which one of you is Jack?" A kind-looking lady asked as she looked at the two boys.

Aiden pointed to Jack when the boy didn't make a move to say anything to indicate that he was Jack.

"Alrighty, please step up on this scale for me Hun." She said with a kind smile before writing down his weight.

Next, she did his height, blood-pressure, and checked his heartbeat before doing the exact same things to Aiden.

Once she was done writing down all of the information on their respective papers she led them to a room.

"Alrighty, Jake you will be in this room and Aiden you will be in the room down h-" she started before getting cut off by Jack.

"Can we be in the same room instead?" He asked as he subconsciously grabbed onto the back of Aiden's shirt.

"Of course sweety, I'll inform Dr. Brown for you. He should be in shortly, just make yourselves comfortable in here while you wait." She said after seeing the worry in Jack's eyes.

"Thank you." Both boys chorused before walking into the room.

Nurse Beth shut the door behind them before going to the Dr. to inform him that they would both be in the same room instead of being separate now.

"Sorry for making us share the room, I just didn't want to be in here alone not knowing anything. I mean I prob-" Jack was cut off this time.

"Hey, it's okay, I was going to ask her if we could share a room once she stopped talking anyway, you just said it before me. There's nothing to apologize about." Aiden reassured as he sat down on one of the chairs in the corner of the room.

"Okay good," Jack said with a small smile before he sat down next to Aiden, as close as he could with the arms of the chairs in the way.

The two sat there in anxious silence before the doctor came in.

"Good afternoon gentlemen, how are you two today?" Dr. Brown asked as he walked into the room, clipboard in hand, shutting the door with his other hand.

"A bit confused to be honest, how are you?" Aiden answered as Jack nodded in agreement.

"I'm doing fine." He answered before he began asking some questions to them, writing down their answers and the information he thought down on his clipboard and computer.

About two hours later both boys were returned to the others who waited for them in the waitingroom.

They were accompanied by Dr. Brown who pulled Cassie aside to talk to her while Amy stayed with all the kids.

"I believe that the two young men of yours have drug-induced amnesia. They should be able to recover their memories in due time on their own though if you show them photos, videos, old toys, old clothes, bring them back to places you used to visit a lot, anything like that may help them gain their memory back quicker. However, that's not a guarantee. It will also take time so don't expect them to regain their memory in just a few weeks. It can take months to years for them to remember and even still, there's no guarantee they will ever remember everything again. So please keep that all in mind and contact us if you need anything. Have a nice day now." He stated before giving her a pity-filled smile and walking away.

Cassie stood there for a second, taking in all the information before walking back over to everyone else.

"So how are you two feeling?" She asked Jack and Aiden once she got into hearing range.

"Tired," Jack answered honestly, he was absolutely exhausted from all the insanity of the day and all he wanted to do was sleep for hours and hours and hours.

"Agreed," Aiden said with a nod making the others smile at them.

"Alrighty then, let's go home. I'll make some Chicken Noodle soup for dinner and then we can all go to sleep!" Amy said with a large smile before they all began walking out the door and to the car again.

They arrived at the house and all got out of the car quickly.

"Woah... this is our house?" Jack asked as he took in the cozy-looking home.

It wasn't very large but it looked very homey with a stained wooden front porch, and flowers growing from the flower boxes on the siding and down the railing. There were a good amount of windows with shutters that were covered in a soft blue color with chipping paint. It wasn't fancy by any means but it was very homey, it felt safe, it felt right.

"Yep! I'll give you two a house tour," Cassie said with a fake smile, trying to hold back how truly heartbreaking she felt by having to give her own son a house tour of a house he'd lived in all his life.

So everyone went inside, Jazzalyn and A.J. left to their room while Amy began working on dinner.

Amy gave them a tour of the house, showing off the kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms.

"If either of you are ever confused as to where anything is then just ask any of us and we'll help you out. Now, I think you two should take a shower. One of you can use this bathroom and the other one can use the one by Amy and I's room." Cassie said with another forced smile.

"I hope you fit into Jack's old clothes, I hope you still fit your clothes too! We'll go shopping for new clothes tomorrow but for now, we'll have to make do with what we have." She said, the first bit to Aiden and the second bit to Jack.

"Okay, thank you again," Jack said making Cassie give him a tear-filled smile before she rushed off to the kitchen so they wouldn't see her cry.

"Let's go to our new room and see what clothes might fit us," Aiden said as he wrapped his arm around Jack's shoulders and guided him to the room Cassie told them they would be staying in, aka Jack's old room.

Jack nodded without saying anything, he felt horrible that he made Cassie upset, he really wished he could remember them all, not only for his sake but for their sake; he hates making them upset when they seem to care so much about him.

The two of them found a hoodie they could fit into so they grabbed them and left to one of each of the showers.

After fifteen minutes they were both done and dressed, coming out of the bathrooms with damp hair and their dirty clothes in their arms.

They put the clothes into the hamper in their room where they found Cassie blowing up an air mattress for Aiden.

She finished blowing the mattress up before plugging it up before she began talking to the boys.

"We don't have another bed yet so one of you will have to sleep on here tonight but we can get a bed soon." She said as she picked up the sheets and began putting them on the mattress.

"It's okay, thank you for everything. I'm perfectly content with sleeping on the mattress, I don't need a bed." Aiden said as he rubbed the back of his neck, not wanting to be a burden.

"No it's okay, we'll get you a bed soon. Now come on downstairs when you're ready and eat dinner. Then you can sleep all you want." She said with a smile as she stood up from making the bed.

"Okay, thank you," Aiden said as Jack smiled at her.

She gave a nod before walking out of the room, pulling the door almost completely closed behind her.

"So, you ready to eat dinner?" Aiden asked Jack as he held his arm out for Jack to take.

Jack gave him a smile at the silly gesture but nodded nonetheless and took his arm before they walked down to the dining room where everyone was already sitting.

They sat down next to each other after getting their own bowls of soup and ate the delicious food after saying thank you to Amy for making the meal.

After that, Amy gave them each a new toothbrush and toothpaste so they brushed their teeth and left for their bedroom.

They each got into their respective beds and tried to get comfortable and go to sleep.

However, half an hour later neither of them could get comfortable and began to get restless.

"Hey, are you still awake?" Jack whispered quietly, not wanting to wake Aiden up if he was asleep.

"Yeah," Aiden answered, beginning their first late-night conversation.

1,471 Words!

Hello everyone! I'm SO SORRY this has taken me this long to update anything on here. I've had a lot happening with school and I mostly crochet whenever I have any free time so I haven't written anything in forever.

HOWEVER, tomorrow, as long as my parents don't have any real plans for tomorrow, my plan is to write this book all day long and get out as many chapters as possible because I actually love this book as of right now so I want to ride this happy train for as long as I can before I start hating the book lol.

Anygays, that's all for now, have an amazing day/night! Love you all!! Stay safe & hydrated!!!
