Author's POV

"So how was your first day at work? " Jimin asked, sitting on the couch beside Jungkook.

"It was great, all of them there were quite friendly with me. " Jungkook replied. "Even Taehyung? " Jimin pointed out. "Yes even Mr Kim. I even caught him staring at me and when I told him about it, he chuckled "

"Really? Wow!"

" I haven't seen him doing things like smiling or chuckling for like past four to five years. It's a wonder that how did you made him do that in a day " Jimin remarked.

"Also did you saw him? "

"Who ?"

"The one whose gummy smile can heal wounds, stop wars, the one whose artistic skills are top notch, the on-"

"Okay okay hyung. Sheesh you are so lovesick about Yoongi hyung and no, I didn't met him " Jungkook responded.

They both stayed like that till midnight, chatting about different things until finally falling asleep on the couch itself.

The moon shone brightly on the trees, dimly illuminating the forest.

The forest seemed calm and peaceful, not a single movement could be seen or felt except for the occasional hooting of owls. Everything seemed normal until two figures rushed by the trees, making their way between the bushes.

The one in the front suddenly halted causing the person on the back to do same.

It was an arrow that had swept by, almost hitting the person in the front.

"Youngest prince! Are you okay? " the person on the back asked, worry lacing his voice. The person on front just nodded, catching his breath. He then wiped his silk robes and took the other person's hand in his and intertwined their fingers. He spoke "No matter what happens, keep holding my hand. We need to escape before the sun rises, okay? " and with that they both ran in a different direction.

With their hands intertwined, they ran without even catching their breath.

Suddenly, another arrow swept by them, this time piercing the prince's right hand.

"YOUNGEST PRINCE! "

Taehyung jolted awake, panting heavily. He was covered in sweat, his locket on his chest heaved up and down as he took breath in and out.

He took the water jar on the table beside his bed and poured himself a glass of water.

He was utterly confused, what had he just seen?

A nightmare?

But who were the two people he saw in his dreams? So many questions and no one to answer. Taehyung sighed and looked outside the window. The sun was about to rise. "Guess no sleep for me tonight. "

He did his morning routine and left for office early.

"Looks like someone didn't got a good sleep " Jisoo pointed out, entering his cabin.

"Some nightmare decided to ruin it for me " Taehyung explained. "You should have taken a leave then, I and the others can manage it at least for a day can't I? What matters the most is your health. " Jisoo said.

"I never take leaves for such unnecessary matters Shua, you should've known this better than anyone else " Taehyung reminded. "Yeah but I've heard that our always so strict and stoic CEO is slowly turning soft for someone-OW! Hey! " Joshua exclaimed after getting hit by a file.

"That's what you get for teasing me " Taehyung said.

"CEO-nim did you just hit me with a file? Ow my head! " Joshua exclaimed clutching his head in a dramatic manner. "I hit you on the right side but you are holding the left side of your head. " Taehyung shooked his head. "I always ask myself that why am I even friends with such dramatic people " he added. "We both know you are lying. You love us but will never admit it " Joshua protested.

After a short silence Taehyung spoke "By the way, I've also heard that on the day of the celebration party, something happened between our HR and COO, hm? " he inquired, leaning back on his swivel chair.

The teasing expression on Joshua's face was replaced a hue of soft red blush.

"About that, it's-it's just...rumours? Yeah! Just rumours nothing more. Don't believe in them. " Joshua stammered.

"Oh really? What if I tell you that I saw it with my own eyes? " Taehyung was now smirking. "You saw it?? " Joshua asked, panicked to which Taehyung responded with a nod. "No you didn't saw anything! ARGH!!! GOD! it's so embarrassing! Please don't tell Jeonghan that you saw it or else he would be even more awkward with me! " Joshua begged.

Taehyung couldn't hold in anymore and burst into laughter.

"Sure, I won't tell him. I'm not a snitch Jisoo. " he assured after laughing his heart out.

Actually, the day when Taehyung won the award for the CEO of the year, there was an after party kept for the employees where Jisoo got drunk and accidentally kissed Jeonghan. Not only that, he even confessed his feelings for the latter which made things go awkward between them.

"Y'know, I even got it on camera " Taehyung informed.

"YOU DID NO-" Joshua was cut off by a knock on the door.

"Mr Kim, can I come in " Jungkook asked, his head peeking inside. "Sure" Taehyung said. Joshua can see his best friend's face getting lit up the moment the new employee steps in.

"Shua, I think you should go back to work and do remember whatever I just said. " Taehyung spoke.

"Honestly, fuck you! " Joshua whispered loud enough to be heard by only them. "What happened? Joshua-sshi seemed quite furious " Jungkook inquired. In response, Taehyung just laughed it off.

The two continued working and chitchatting occasionally. Sometimes one of them would crack a joke causing both of them burst into laughter. Taehyung enjoyed this environment, he felt comfortable almost as if he's talking with his friends. Though the CEO takes a lot of time for getting attached to someone, it wouldn't be wrong to say that the new employee was a special case. He liked being around him, he can no more imagine coming to his cabin and not finding the familiar face.

Almost a month passed by like this. Taehyung has now adapted many new habits like having lunch in his cabin together with Jungkook while talking about anything and everything.

He smiles and crack jokes more often. His cold and rude demeanor is now washing away.

He sometimes even smiles to himself remembering all the fun conversations he had with Jungkook during lunch. Everything was going smoothly except for one thing - nightmares.

Yes, Taehyung still get them almost every night and what's more weird is that it's the same every night.

But, he can't see their face clearly.

To get rid of this annoying event, he called all three of his friends to talk about it.

"Okay get started " Jimin commanded, sipping his iced americano.

"So it's starts with two people probably two men running very fast around a forested area. Suddenly an arrow comes from nowhere almost hitting one of them. " he started. "The other man says something like 'Youngest prince are you okay ' and the other nods " he continues.

"Then that 'youngest prince ' holds the other's hand and tells him to not leave it and then starts running again. After a while another arrow comes, this time it hits the 'Youngest prince ' on the right hand. And it usually ends like that, nothing more. " he explained.

"That sounds like some past life kinda thing. " Jeonghan commented.

"C'mon Jeonghan, we're not in some k-drama or something. And plus none of us believe in past life things. " Jimin said.

"So what do you suggest is happening to Tae? " Jeonghan retorted.

"I'm not sure about it but it's definitely not what you are suggesting. " Jimin answered.

In response to that Jeonghan just rolled his eyes. "Guys we're not here to argue, remember? " Joshua said. "I would suggest that you should consult a psychiatrist, because none of us are knowledgeable enough to know about it " he suggested.

They decided to wrap up their conversation there only.

On his way back to his cabin, Taehyung wanted to get something to drink so he went to the cafeteria and ordered a coke. While waiting for his order, he accidentally heard the conversation of ladies sitting on a nearby table.

"Have you heard the rumours? It says that the new employee who joined a month ago as CEO's assistant is actually someone close to Mr Jimin." one of them informed. "No wonder, he got such a high position so easily. And maybe that's the reason why our boss is so friendly towards him. " the other replied sipping on her coffee.

"You know I was just a step away in becoming Mr Kim's assistant but that person destroyed it all. I don't think he even deserves that position. " she added.

Taehyung was enraged. Though it was true that Jimin was the one who recommended Jungkook but Taehyung himself checked all his qualifications before hiring him. Not only that, Jungkook did his job quite effectively too. He was much better than these employees who only knows to be envious of other people. These people can't do one job properly and gossip about other hardworking people.

He grabbed his drink, walked towards them and loudly slammed the glass on the table.

"This is a working place, not a cafe where you can gossip about anyone" he scolded. Those two ladies were terrified and immediately stood up. "S-s-sorry s-sir " one of them apologised and bowed down, the other doing the same. "No apologies would be accepted, you both are fired. I don't people like you in my office, there are many people who are willing to work for us and much more hardworking than you both combined. " he spoke and left from there.
