Author's POV

Jungkook hurriedly paid for the cab and ran towards the entrance.

The building was huge, the other buildings were as small as an ant as compared to the building he was entering.

Once he was inside he ran towards the receptionist.

"Good morning, hello " he said fumbling over his words. "I'm here for job interview can you please tell me where should I go? " he asked panting. "This way please sir " the receptionist said and smiled sweetly.

"Mr Yoon, here's the man you were waiting for " she said to a man.

The man smiled brightly. A reaction Jungkook didn't expected, he thought he would be angry on him for coming late but all Jungkook got was a sweet welcoming smile. "You must be Jeon Jungkook, right? Hello I'm Yoon Jeonghan the HR, nice to meet you " the man named Jeonghan said forwarding his hand for a handshake. Jungkook hurriedly shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too " he timidly said still worried.

"I see that you are a bit late. But I am going to let it go because it's your first day and you might've been awoke whole night because of nervousness and had overslept. That happens. But I hope that you won't do it everyday, right? " he asked. That was the very thing that had happened with Jungkook.

"Yes sir, I won't I promise " Jungkook assured.

"Great then, come this way please. "

Jungkook nodded and followed.

Till the time they reached their destination, Jeonghan gave a brief information about this company, the CEO, the other important employees and what work do Jungkook have to do. The elevator stopped after reaching the topmost floor. While they both were walking towards the cabin of the CEO, Jeonghan said "Jungkook-sshi I would like to inform you one thing about your boss. I have known him since college days so I kind of know him better than ninety percent people present here but people like you who are meeting him for the first time often gets the wrong idea about him. They often see him as cold emotionless, money hungry and a nepo kid only because his father is a well known businessman. Which is completely wrong than the real him. Yes he might not be sweet as other people but he's definitely not that all. I hope you don't misunderstood him at first only because there are lot of people who do that. "

"Don't worry Jeonghan-sshi, I'll try my best to be have stereotype about him like others. " Jungkook honestly said.

He hated stereotypes and that would be the last thing he'll have about someone.

When they came across a turn, someone accidentally bumped into Jeonghan. "Oh sorry sorry, I didn't mean to! Are you okay? You are not hurt anywhere, are you-"

"Joshuji, I'm alright. Don't worry " Jeonghan assured the man but still didn't glanced at him properly and so did the other man. "Um, y-you must be the new employee, right? " the other man inquired. Jungkook nodded as the answer. Suddenly there was an unexpected awkwardness among them. Neither Jeonghan nor the man said anything or anyone looked at each other. 'Gosh! It's awkward ' thought Jungkook feeling uncomfortable which was might've been noticed by the man, who just bid his goodbye and left hurriedly.

"Jeonghan-sshi, if you don't mind me asking, who was that man just now?"

"He? He's Hong Jisoo or Joshua Hong. He's the COO of this company and Taehyun's best friend since highschool. He, Taehyung and I together started this company and took the position which suited us. " Jeonghan explained.

"You three must be close then " the younger again asked.

Jeonghan nodded as a response.

They finally reached the CEO's office. It wasn't on the highest floor but still pretty high. On the door of the office there was a name tag displaying "CEO Kim Taehyung ". Jungkook kind of felt shivers in his body. Jeonghan first knocked on the door.

A "Come in " was heard which led Jeonghan to open the door.

Jungkook stepped inside the office. It was huge, even bigger than his bedroom. There were big book shelves on either side of the door near the right side's book shelf, an expensive sofa set was kept with a glass table in between and near left side's book shelf, the CEO's table was kept. A man with dark black hair and an intimidating aura was seated there with a pile of documents around him.

Tae's POV

"Taehyung, meet him. He's Jeon Jungkook your new assistant. " Jeonghan introduced the new employee.

I stood up and walked towards them forwarding my hands.

"Kim Taehyung " I said.

The other showed a little smile and we shook our hands. The moment our hands came in contact, I suddenly felt a strange feeling like I feel somewhat....completed? I don't know, it's my first time feeling something like this. I can see a confused and baffled look on the other guy's face too, indicating that he might feel the same?

I pushed those thoughts away and retrieved my hand.

"I assume that Jeonghan has already explained you your work, so if you want you can start working from now only. Your cabin is not in the best condition for now so I'm sorry but you need work in my office for a while, I hope you're okay with that. " I informed.

"Yes, I'm fine with working and I'll start from now only " the employee said.

"Come let me show you your table." Jeonghan said.

I sat down on my chair and started working again but the thought of that strange feeling didn't left my mind.

After a while

I can't believe it! For the first time in life such thing is happening. I was frustrated beyond limits not on anyone else but on me.

I can't focus on my work just because of the strange feeling I felt earlier.

It has been on my mind since then and I can't help but take a secret glance at my new assistant. There was something different about him. Is it the way he was so focused on his work? Or the way he would narrow his eyebrows occasionally? Is it the way he ran his fingers swiftly over his laptop? Or the way he would bite his lips every now and then.

"You know staring at someone is a bad habit Mr Kim? " he asked with a amused smirk playing on his lips and eyes still focused on the laptop screen.

'Shit I didn't realise I was staring. He must be thinking I'm some kind of creep '

"I-I uh w-was just.." I tried to cover up but failed.

He then started laughing, his eyes finally diverted from the screen. Hearing him laugh I couldn't help but chuckle too.

Wait, when was the last time I chuckled or stammered, scratch that I don't even laugh with someone else other than Joshua and Jeonghan. What the hell is happening to me?

"It's okay Mr Kim, don't worry I won't judge. " he assured still smiling.

Author's POV
During Lunch

"It's almost two in the afternoon, aren't you going to have your lunch?" Taehyung asked arranging some papers and stapling them.

"I was about to. What 'bout you? Aren't you going to come or should I bring you something " Jungkook asked back, shutting down his laptop. "I'll come later, you can go." Taehyung lied. Truth be told what that he hardly have his lunch in his office, most of the time he skips it or goes out and have some kind of snacks but he didn't like eating in the office.

"Okay " Jungkook said and left

While he was having his lunch, a few employees approached him, "Hey! You are the new employee right? " one of the girl asked.

"Yes, I am Jeon Jungkook " he introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you Mr Jeon, myself Choi Yeonjun. " one of the boy introduced himself followed by others. All of them were quite nice and friendly towards Jungkook. They all talked about a few things when someone asked, "So how is it working with our boss? "

"It was good but one thing I can't understand is that I'd heard that the CEO is very rude and cold hearted but he talked to me normally. " he said

"Our boss can be very strict and scary sometimes but he has a heart of gold" another employee answered.

"Yeah but don't expect him to smile or anything, cuz we've been working here for 3-4 years but have hardly seen him smile. " she added.

"Is that so? But back in the office I even heard him chuckle. "

All of them whipped their heads towards him and looked at him with shock written over their faces.

"REALLY??? " one of them explained

"Yes, when I told him that staring is a bad habit cause he was constantly looking at me, he looked baffled and tried to cover up but he just stammered. Honestly he was kinda cute which made me laugh out loud and seeing that I heard him chuckle. It was a small one but I'm sure he chuckled. " he explained.

"So you're telling he stared stammered and chuckled all at once??? Wow! Mr Jeon you surely are something. You made him act a completely different way in a span of few hours?? " a boy with dark black long hair commented.

Jungkook laughed at their exaggeration.

"By the way, why isn't Mr Kim not coming down to eat lunch? " he inquired.

"Eat lunch? He never eat lunch in the office. Actually I have hardly seen him having lunch. " Jeonghan, who had also joined them a while ago said.

"Is that so? " Jungkook asked.

Everyone else nodded. But that didn't stopped Jungkook to pack some food for his new boss.

"Lieing to someone is as bad as staring, Mr Kim " Jungkook said as he entered the office. "Kindly remind me that when did I ever lied to you Mr Jeon? " he asked diverting his attention from his work.

"You told me you'll join us in lunch later. Where were you? I was waiting for you until Mr Yoon told me that you don't eat lunch. " Jungkook said and started unpacking the food items. "Now, since I am your assistant it's my job to make sure you eat your lunch and leave this unhealthy habit of yours. If not a whole course meal, at least you can have some snacks only." he suggested.

Taehyung wanted to refuse, but he couldn't. There was something which was making him follow every instructions of the other.

So he found himself eating his lunch during working hours for the first time while chatting and laughing about certain things with his new assistant.

It was almost 8 in the evening. The employees were preparing to go back home, some of them even left but there was a certain new comer who showed no sign of leaving.

"Jungkook-sshi it's almost eight, aren't you going to go back home? " Taehyung asked.

"Oh is it eight already? I didn't realised it. I should go pack this up now. " he replied. Once he was finished packing everything he stood up and started to leave. "Let me accompany you to your taxi " Taehyung offered.

"No no its ok, I can go by myself " the younger said. But after much reassurance he accepted the offer.

They both walked towards the exit, chatting about some random things. All the employees who saw them like this were shocked and baffled to see their "always-staying-quiet " boss chatting and smiling occasionally with the new employee. Some of the female employees were even jealous since even after much try, their boss never talked like this with them. While some of them were genuinely happy that finally he was opening up to someone.

Jeonghan and Joshua were two of them.

"It's good that at least he's opening up to someone. Isn't it Hannie-I mean Jeonghan? " Joshua spoke.

"It is, it's been ages since he'd talked to someone like that. " Jeonghan replied.

On the other after seeing his new assistant off, Taehyung too decided to go back. He took his car and drove, wanting to go back and lay on his bed as soon as possible but the traffic didn't let him. While waiting in the traffic. He heard the window of his car being knocked.

He slid down the window and saw an old woman selling some lockets.

Most of them looked old, mysterious and weird but one them caught Taehyung's eye. It was in a shape of a crescent moon.

His hands unconsciously moved forward, clutching the black metallic chain of the locket. "Do you like it young man. It's not very expensive, you can buy it. " the old woman said and smiled. There was something which told Taehyung to buy it no matter how much it would cost him and so he ended up buying.

Holding the locket in his palms, Taehyung wondered about all the weird events that happened today. Suddenly he heard a loud honk from behind and saw that the traffic had cleared.

He, now only wanted to go back his house, lay down on his bed and rest.

Taehyung's best friend since high school. Chief operating officer (COO) of Kth designs. He started this company together with Taehyung and Jeonghan. Soft spoken and calm.
