Soon the day of the exam had arrived. I tried taking deep breaths to calm my nerves, but that's when my eyes glanced at Midoriya and memories came flooding back.

It was about two days before the exam.

"I can try getting a sample of his blood, but it'll be hard"

The person on the other side of the call sounded happy that I finally gave in.

'You still have my present right?'

I looked over at a box on my desk that held the device. I opened it and there it was a small tube that had an even smaller tube coming out from it that connected to a small glass vial that was the size of my ring finger and as wide as my thumb. On the larger tube was a button that when pressed shot out a needle.

"Don't worry, Toga, I still have it. He should be asleep by now, so I'll leave you there and meet you when I've done the job,"

"Satsuki," a voice said interrupting my train of thought, "Satsuki!"

I looked over at the voice and saw Yuna. She looked worried.

"Huh,"

"You okay. You seemed to be somewhere else," Shoto said

"I'm just a little nervous,"

"Try taking deep breaths to calm your nerves," Shoto suggested

I tried doing that again and it started working when...

"Ready! Plus-" Kirishima was cut off

"Ultra!!!!" some other kid, who looked strangly familiar yelled

The sudden outburst startled me putting my already heightened nerves at maximum overdrive. It didn't help that my mind was racing about that night.

'What if Midoriya told someone about that night'

'What have I done? What have I done?'

I was beginning to spiral, my mind racing, memories flashing in my mind. I tried taking more deep breaths pushing those thoughts and memories as deep into my mind as I could. Then I felt an elbow poke my sides. It was Shoto. He was worried.

"Oh, and Satsuki, you're a lot prettier in person than on TV," a girl from another school complimented

"Oh, uh, thank you," I said

"Hey. Get your costumes and head to orientation," Mr. Aizawa said, "There's no time to waste"

"Yes sir!" we all said

We all changed into our hero costumes and went to the main auditorium where the orientation was being held. The auditorium was packed with hero course students. That's when I realized the magnitude of the exam.

"So, many people," Yuna said awestruck

I nodded in agreement. Soon a man who looked incredibly tired got up to the podium.

"Okay then. Let's do this exam thing," he began, "I'm from, uh, the Heroes Public Safety Commission. Names Mera. My circadian rhythm is so screwed up, ah man, I haven't slept lately and I haven't gotten much rest. We're too short staffed, I'm so tired,"

"He really should take a nap. He looks like he's gonna fall asleep at any moment," Yuna muttered

"With that confession, I'll now begin the orientation," Mera said, "So, about the content of this license thing, basically, 1,540 examinees compete in a free-for-all exercise or whatever we're calling it. See, we've got a lot of pros around and since Stain was arrested many people've expressed doubts about heroes in society, but, when you think about it getting paid makes sense,"

He paused for a moment to yawn then continued talking.

"If you're going to risk your life to save someone, why shouldn't you ask for a reward, huh? That's just the way the world works. God, I could use a coffee," Mera explained, "Anyway, whether they are in it for compensation or out of a sense of duty, we've got too many heroes working together in the streets these days to keep villains at bay. You are all here trying to receive your provisional licenses, so you'll be swept up in this tiresome mass yourselves pretty soon. Those of you who don't have the speed, frankly just won't cut it. Which is why that's what you'll be tested on,"

He began to explain the objective of the first portion of the exam and only 1,000 will be able to pass the first portion.

My nerves began to work, and I tried taking more deep breaths. Shoto glanced at me and put his hand on my shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. The reassurance calmed me down a bit, but I continued to take the deep breaths.

For the first portion, we would be given three target that we would place it anywhere on our bodies, except for the soles of the feet and the armpits. We would also be given six balls to use as something to hit the target with. Once, all three of the targets were hit we'd be out. In order to pass, we'd have to get at least two people out.

"I guess we can pass the targets and balls around. Then you'll be given a few minutes to get ready before we open,"

"Open?" Shoto muttered

I looked at him confused when all of a sudden the entire room began to shake and the ceiling began to open, revealing a large stadium.

"I'm sure each of you have different terrains that you like or want to avoid. Use your Quirks well and do your best or not. Whatever,"

"This seems like overkill," Yuna said

"Yes, I know. It makes for a great reveal, doesn't it? And for what? So much sleep lost for this,"

I was given my three targets and six balls. I began to place them on myself, one was place on my right arm, another on my chest, and the last on my stomach.

"Everyone! We should stay together and fight them as a group!" Midoriya suggested

"Yeah, right. This isn't a field trip," Bakugo said

He left and Kirishima and Kaminari followed close behind.

"I'm gonna go as well," Yuna said

"Misa," Uraraka said

"My Quirk can hurt you guys as well, so I think it's smarter for me to not be near you guys," Yuna explained

Then she left.

"I'm going on my own, too," Shoto added

"Shoto," I said

"It's hard for me to use my power safely when a big group's around," he explained

He was right about that, but I had a feeling that it wasn't the wisest decision. I couldn't put my finger on it though. Midoriya began to move and everyone who stayed with him followed.

"I don't think it's a good idea for them to go off on their own, though," Midoriya said

"How come?" Mineta asked

"Think about it,"

I took a moment to think and that when it came to me. The Sports Festival.

'We are at a disadvantage,' I thought

"Everyone already knows what powers we have," Midoriya said

"They did research?" Uraraka asked

"No, the Sports Festival," I said

"The other schools probably figured out the same thing I have. That this is going to end as a battle between schools with that in mind. First, it's likely they'll gang up against Quirks they know,"

"That means..." Iida began

"The first test will now begin."

The test began and we were the first to get attacked. That's when everyone around us began to throw their balls. To block some of the balls from hitting me I created an ice wall. The ones that were coming toward me were blocked.

"We've got this! Show them what you've got!" Midoriya encouraged

The barrage stopped and none of our targets were hit. One of the students from the other schools threw one of the balls underground and now they were hurling towards us.

"Where did they go?"

"I got this," Jiro said, "Heartbeat distortion

Using her amplifiers, she caused the ground to break apart. Shooting the balls that were underground back up to the surface. We stood, watching the opponent, and waiting for their next move.

"Maximum force! Tremoring Earth!"

"What..." I muttered and tried to nullify the attack

Massive vibrations ran through my entire body causing me to almost fall over. I tried to stop it, but those vibrations were too much. That attack caused the entire area around us to shift in violent ways. The force of the attack and me trying to stop it was enough to push me back.

That's when there was an announcement on the intercoms. One hundred twenty people were taken out. I looked around and saw that there was no one around. I was alone and I knew that to a lot of the other participants I was a primary target.
