Quirk: Half Cold, Half Hot

"I was overwhelmed and it made me break the promise I made to myself a long time ago. Ida and Kaminari, Yaoyorozu and Tokoyami, Ururaka not even my sister felt it. At that moment, I was the only one who could sense your true power," I recalled, "It reminded me of something, experiencing All Might's Quirk,"

"Yeah, okay is that all," Midoriya asked

"I'm saying the power I felt was like All Might's. Midoriya, tell me, are you really All Might's secret love child or something? Well, are you?" I asked

"No way, that's not it at all, but even if it was true I'd probably say 'no ' to so you probably don't believe me. Anyway, I promise you got the wrong idea and why would you ever think that about me," he stammered

"'That's not it at all' is interesting wording it suggests that there is something between you two that you're not supposed to talk about. My father is the hero, Endeavor, you must have heard of him," I explained, "which you know that he is the number two hero, so if you're connected to the number one hero, All Might, in some way that I have even more reason to beat you,"

I paused for a moment then continued,

"My old man is ambitious he aims for the top. He used his power to make a name for himself as a hero, but he was never able to best All Might, so the Symbol of Peace is living proof of his failure. He's still at it though, trying to take down All Might one way or another," I explained

"What are you trying to tell me, Todoroki?" Midoriya asked

"Have you ever heard of Quirk marriages?" I asked, "They became a problem the first few generations after superpowers became widespread. There were those who sought out a mate for the sole purpose of creating powerful children," I explained, "Many people were forced into relationships. They were simply viewed as old fashioned arranged marriages, but clearly, it was unethical. My father has not only a rich history of accomplishments but plenty of problems. He bought my mothers relatives to get his hands on her Quirks and now he's raising me. It's so annoying. I refuse to be a tool for that scumbag."

He had a face of shock before he asked something, "What about Satsuki?"

"To my dad, she is inferior to me because she can't control her Quirk as well as I can. So, my dad thinks less of her even though we have the same Quirk. It infuriates me. Satsuki is stronger than me I've seen how strong she is but no matter what my dad doesn't see it,"

I paused and looked at Midoriya. He had the same face as Yuna did when I told her. It was one of pity. I soon continued talking.

"In every memory of my mother, I always see her crying. I remember she called my left side unbearable before she poured boiling water on my face. The reason I picked a fight with you was to show my old man what I was capable of doing without relying on his damned fire Quirk. You see, I'm going to show him that I reject his power and I can take first place without using it,"

I walked away, "You're obviously connected to All Might even if you won't tell me about it but no matter how fiercely you come at me in the future. I will defeat you using only my right side. I can assure you that,"

"Hey wait!" Midoriya yelled making me stop, "I'm only here because others have supported me I've been really lucky. In fact, I've had even more help since I came to UA. All Might is constantly saving people with a fearless smile. He's the greatest hero and I want to be just like him. In order to do that I have to be strong enough to become No. 1. I know my motivation might seem stupid compared to yours but still, I can't lose this either I owe it to everyone who supported me to try my best. You're declaring war on me well right back at you. I am going to beat you,"

I looked into his eyes and I could see the determination in them, but it didn't mean anything so I just continued walking. On my way, to the cafeteria, I ran into Satsuki.

"Shoto, I got your lunch," she said 

"How long have you been waiting here?" I asked

"Actually, I just got here," she replied. We ate lunch in silence until Satsuki spoke up.

"I heard your conversation with Midoriya," 

"Really how much did you hear?" 

"When you were talking about dad. Does dad really think about me that way?"

I simply nodded. She looked at me and gave a smile, but I could tell that it hit her hard.

After lunch, we went back to the stadium and it turns out the final round will be a tournament and most of the girls excluding Satsuki were wearing cheerleader costumes. 

"Come closer and draw lots to see who you're up against and enjoy the recreational games before we start. The twenty finalists have the honor of choosing if they want to participate in these activities or sit out to prepare for battle. I'm certain all of you would want to conserve your energy. I'll start with the first-place team," Midnight said

"Umm, excuse me," Ojiro raised his hand, "I'm sorry but I withdrawal,"

A lot of people were shocked at Ojiro's withdrawal.

"It just wouldn't be right I barely remember anything from the calvary battle until the very end of it. I think it was that guy's Quirk. I know this is a great opportunity and I wish I could take advantage of it but my conscious won't let me,"

"Think about this," Midoriya said

"I have okay. Everyone gave their all in this and I was just someone's puppet. I don't want to advance if I don't even know how I got here. It wouldn't be fair,"

Hagakure and Ashido tried to convince him to reconsider but

"That's not it. I'm talking about my pride here I refuse to give that up and also why are all the girls dressed as cheerleaders,"

I was wondering the same thing. Then, some kid from Class B also decided to withdrawal for the same reason.

"This sort of talk is incredibly naive my boys. That turns me on. Shoda, Ojiro you're withdrawn," Midnight said

'I'm just going to ignore that,' I thought

"Now, let's see we'll have to pick two students from the fifth place calvary team so we have enough contestants...and so Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki have advanced to the finals. Take a look at the board my dears these are your opponents,"  

I looked at the board and I was up against Sero. I also saw that if Midoriya won his first battle we would face off.

'You must advance, Midoriya so I can beat you with one hand,' I thought

"Ok, let's pause for a momentary game before the battles begin. It's time for some post-battle side games," Present Mic announced

"Hey, Todoroki, you want to join me for the games?" Yuna asked

"I need to prepare, I'm sorry," I apologized

"Man, first Satsuki now you," Yuna said while making an annoyed face. I walked away and I found an area that provided shade and it was calming. I heard rustling in the tree above me. I looked up but couldn't see what was in the tree until my sister popped out.

"Oh, hey Shoto," she said 

"Where? How? When?"

"I was climbing this tree when I saw you and wanted to say 'Hi' so I climbed down when I got stuck and now here we are," she explained. I had a blank expression for a while until I gave a small chuckle and helped Satsuki get down.

"Thanks, sorry if I ruined your relaxation time before the finals," she apologized

"It's fine. I'm just glad I decided to come here because if not who knows how long you would've been stuck there," 

It was time to head back to the stadium and we headed toward our class's designated seating area. 

"You guys are late, what happened?" Yuna asked which made Satsuki start laughing.

"You wouldn't believe it," she answered between giggles

"You're right I wouldn't but tell me anyway," Yuna said. Satsuki cleared her throat then explained what happened.

"Thank goodness you're alright, Satsuki," Iida said putting his hand on her shoulder, "and you have a beautiful laugh,"

"Uhh, thanks Iida," she said as her cheeks turned a slight pink

'Was Iida flirting with her? and was it working?' I thought

"Alright, everyone let's cut to the next competition. Welcome our first fighters. He kinda looks scared in that picture, doesn't he... it's Izuku Midoriya from the Hero Course versus Hitoshi Shinso from General Studies sorry he hasn't done anything to stand out yet. The rules are simple to immobilize your opponent or push them out of the ring or  until the other person cries, 'Uncle!'" Present Mic explained, "In case of injuries we've got Recovery Girl on standby. So, put your morals aside and don't be afraid to play dirty but of course, no life-threatening attacks 'cause that's not allowed. Real heroes use their Quirks to put villains in jail not kill them,"

We looked down at the arena floor and it looked like Midoriya and that Shinso guy was talking with each other. Midoriya was going to attack him when he suddenly stopped.

"Ahhh, I told you not to say anything!" Ojiro yelled

"Come on, Midoriya," Satsuki said as she got up to get a better look

"Why in the world isn't he moving?" Ida asked. We watched as Shinso told Midoriya to leave and he did what he was told. He was so close to stepping out of bound when all of a sudden he stopped. 

"What a save!" Satsuki yelled. I got up from my seat and began to walk toward the waiting room.

"I better get going," I told Satsuki and Yuna, who I noticed was sleeping? I got to the player waiting rooms and when I found out Midoriya won I walked toward the entrance of the arena. 

'Of course, Midoriya won,' I thought when I saw him. 

"What do you want?" 

"You're acting disgracefully, Shoto. I'd expect this behavior from Satsuki considering how she isn't as powerful as you. If you'd simply used your left side. You would've had an overwhelming victory over both of the first rounds. It's time to stop this childish rebellion of yours. You have a job to surpass that imbecile All Might. Do you understand what I'm saying? You're different from your siblings. You're my greatest masterpiece."

The way he spoke was just infuriating to hear.

"Is that all you have to say to me you bastard. I'll win this match using only mom's Quirk. I won't give you the pleasure of watching me use yours and one last thing never talk about Satsuki that way. She might be stronger than I am, so when you talk like that about her you're undermining her ability."

"Even, if that works for you in this tournament you'll soon find the limits of that power and if what you say about Satsuki is true I look forward to when you two face-off,"

Satsuki POV

"Alright, see ya, Shoto," I told him as he left

'His fingers they're broken,' I thought. Midoriya began running toward Shinso. He reached Shinso and began pushing him out of the ring. Shinso punched Midoriya but Midoriya was unfazed. Then Shinso pushed Midoriya aside and began pushing him out of the ring until Midoriya flipped him over just like what he did to Bakugo back during basic training.

"Shinso is out of bounds. Midoriya advances to the next round!" Midnight announced

Everyone in the stadium was cheering.

"That was so nerve-wracking, " I told Uraraka and Iida 

"Turning the tables at the last moment, a classic Midoriya maneuver," Iida explained

"Ahh, yeah! That was actually a boring first match, kids but both of you fought bravely. Let's show them some love everyone!" Present Mic announced

The next match was Shoto, then Yuna, then me. I realized that Yuna was still asleep.

"Yuna. Yuna! Wake up," I said shaking her awake. She opened her eyes.

"What?"

"Shoto is about to start his match aren't you next?" I told her. She realized I was right and started freaking out.

"Ahh, you're right knowing Todoroki this match will be over quick. I better get going," she got up and went to the player waiting rooms. I watched her leave when I saw Midoriya.

"There you are, Deku! You did good," Uraraka said

"Come on, down here we saved a seat for you," Iida said. Midoriya walked over to them and sat down.

"Thanks, guys," Midoriya said.

"Great, job out there," I congratulated.

"Thanks, Satsuki," 

"Enough standing around. Next up in the ring our next players! He's got skills, but at the expense of some really creepy elbows from the Hero Course it's Hanta Sero! Versus an early front runner in the competition whose way too strong for his own good someone who rightfully got into the hero course based on recommendations, it's Shoto Todoroki! And now for the second match of the finals, begin!" Present Mic announced

The match was on and Sero wrapped Shoto in tape and was about to throw Shoto out of bounds. It was short-lived when Shoto made a ginormous ice mountain. It was so big it almost impaled everyone in the first row. I sighed and shuffled my way toward the first row and I placed left hand on the ice in front of me and began melting it.

"I think you went overboard, Shoto," I said to myself

"Sero has been immobilized. Todoroki advances to the next round," Midnight said. Then, he too began to melt the ice covering Sero's body. We had to wait a bit for all the ice to be cleared away, but once it was all done it was Yuna's time to shine.

"Next up, we've got a girl with a face of a junior high first year and a deadly Quirk it's Misa Yuna! Versus a guy with putty arms, it's Kye Nakano!" Present Mic announced, "Are you ready? Begin!" 

The first attack was Nakano. He stretched his arms out toward Yuna. She dodged it and ran toward him. When she was close enough she swiped her left arm which sent a cloud of smoke toward Nakano. Soon both of them were engulfed in the smoke and I could only see their silhouettes. 

The smoke began to subside and Yuna was being pushed back by Nakano's arms she was so close to being out of bounds that if she even took one step back she would lose. I was so engrossed in the match that when Uraraka tapped my shoulder it startled me.

"Huh?" 

"You're next right?" she asked

"Yeah, why?" 

"You should get ready," 

"Awww, man, but I wanted to see who wins," 

"Don't worry, Satsuki we'll tell you who wins," Iida said

"Thanks, Iida," I said as I got up and cupped his hand's with mine. He looked at my hands then looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and began walking toward the player waiting rooms when I ran into my dad.

"Satsuki, we need to talk and don't you dare walk away,"

I stopped and turned my head to look at him, "What?"

"I recently talked to your brother. He said that you might be more powerful than him. I would like to see if what he said is true, so during your battle, I want to see your true power,"

"If this is a way for you to convince me to use my left side it won't work," 

I turned my head and continued walking toward the layer waiting rooms. When I got there I sat down at one of the tables and began thinking of a strategy.

"May's Quirk is Ghost which means she can turn invisible and make things go through her. Hmm, this could prove challenging. Maybe, I could get her to walk out of the bounds," I said to myself. After, coming up with what I think was a solid plan. I went to the entrance of the arena took three deep breaths and walked out.

"Now onto the next match. First up we've got the girl who has accomplished a lot during this tournament who also has an insane quirk, it's Satsuki Todoroki! Versus a girl with a spooky power, it's May Hoshigaki! Ready, Begin!" 

The first thing May did was turn invisible. Since I couldn't see her and I had to feel for her vibrations. So, I kneeled down and put my right hand on the ground, closed my eyes and felt for her movements. She was getting closer and closer I shot my eyes open and used my ice to create a maze. I stood up and began making my way through the maze. While walking through the maze I saw May. She was looking around seeing where to go.

'This is my chance,' I thought as I made my way toward her. She turned left and I followed close behind. I turned the corner it was a dead-end one misstep and I would be out of bounds so I took a few steps back. 

"Where did she-" I was cut off when I someone knocked me down. I got up and noticed that May was in a fighting position. She came at me trying to punch me but she couldn't land a hit. I could tell she was getting frustrated.

"Stay still!" I dodged another one and with the momentum of the attack I pushed out of bounds

"I don't think so," I put my left hand on the ice wall next to me and sent heat through and melted the ice.

"May Hoshigaki is out of bounds. Satsuki advances to the next round," Midnight announced. 

"Great job, May," I said holding my hand out to her

"Thanks, I honestly kinda figured you'd win with that Quirk of yours," she explained as she took my hand and shook it. I let go of her hand and walked back to my classmates. 

Back at the bleachers

As I got there I saw Yuna waving at me.

"Satsuki, you did great who knew you could make an ice maze," 

"Yeah, I didn't know either," 

"I guess now that means the second round is me versus you. Can't wait," Yuna said while making a determined face. We walked back to our seats I sat down and Iida tapped my shoulder,

"Satsuki, I promised I'd tell you that Yuna won her match,"

"Thanks, Iida but Yuna already told me," 

"Oh, uh, ok," he said turning his head away

"Uh, but I'm glad you kept your promise at least," I said. He looked at me and I gave him a smile.

"Congratulations on your victory Satsuki,"

"Yeah, that was cool," Uraraka said

"Yeah, that ice maze is pretty impressive and from what we could see you are pretty agile," Midoriya. We watched Kirishima's fight against a girl from Class B Ibara Shiozaki when some kid from Class B popped up and began talking,

"Guess he's right it really was over in two seconds. I think his real Quirk is the ability to tell the future. Wasn't Class 1-A supposed to be so much better than us? Hahahaha,"

He was knocked out by one of his classmates, "Sorry about him,"

They took Kaminari to the infirmary because well we all know what happened to him. I looked over to Midoriya and he was so focused on what he was doing that he probably didn't notice that everyone was looking at him. 

Next up was Iida.

Electrification- Kaminari can emit electricity that shocks anything in its path but the downside is that if he uses too much it completely fries his brain
