It was a sunny day in Toadtown, Toadette was with Toad at the Peach Castle gardens. Toad was gathering carrots to bring in for Ginger the kitchen cook. Toadette was helping Toad, the garden was huge and Mickey was the castle gardener. He was a proud gardener toad and he was working in a garden box by putting in soil and preparing seeds. Sun was coming from behind the tower that overlooked the back of the palace and it was quite sunny.

Later that day, Toadette was looking at a garden magazine while having afternoon tea. Toadette got the bright idea of maybe helping out in the garden! The next morning at dawn, Mickey was already out in the garden tending to an apple tree when Toadette walked up to him.

"Hello Mickey" called Toadette!

"Good morning Miss Toadette, what are you doing so early?" asked Mickey

"So I saw these cool flower gardens in a magazine I read and I wanted to ask if I could help with the flower garden?" asked Toadette

"Oh we don't have a flower garden," replied Mickey.

"What?? Why," asked Toadette?

Mickey led Toadette to the castle roof and Toadette looked around at an abandoned garden.

"Oh it's so desolate up here," said Toadette as she looked around.

"Yeah, after our old gardener left we just haven't had anyone to run the rooftop garden," replied Mickey.

Toadette took it as a challenge to restore the rooftop garden to its former glory. Toadette got to work she was putting in max energy for many hours and soon the sun was setting over Toadtown and Toadette was pooped after so much hard work. She looked around to see all the progress she had made and gasped. It seemed like she hadn't gotten so far gardening must be harder than she thought.

Days of work took place as Toadette ran around the gardens for weeks. Soon the first flowers started blooming and Toadette was quite excited indeed.

"Wow you did a great job!" replied Toad excited looking around at the beautiful rooftop garden

Toadette thanked him and Toad grabbed a watering can to water the daisies Toadette continued to tend to some tulips. Peach came up to the roof with Daisy and gasped they were quite impressed by what Toadette had done. Mickey had also been coming up to the rooftop garden quite often and was quite impressed by her work. One day news arrived that wasn't good news. Peach was relaxing on the rooftop garden when a servant toad ran handed her a letter and she gasped.

"Mickey is sick and won't be able to attend to the garden for two weeks we need someone to take over," said Peach.

She paused for a moment and looked at Toadette as they sat in her office.

"Are you up for the task?" asked Peach

Toadette shook her head excitedly early the next morning. Toadette was zooming around the garden. She was tending to the apple trees, a few days past when something troubling began to happen. Toad and Birdo were picking strawberries and Toadette was dragging a bag of soil.

"Are you okay?" asked Birdo worried.

"Just a little sleepy," yawned Toadette as she slugged by

Later that morning Toadette turned on the sprinklers and she was done for the evening. Toadette proclaimed to herself that she needed just a little nap. Instead of going home she went upstairs into an empty guest room and passed out to sleep. The sun was rising over Toadtown the next morning and her phone alarm went off and she pushed the off button. One day of not watering plants? What's the worst that could happen?

Soon three days passed since Toadette had tended to the garden and she finally decided to go to the garden on the fourth day and she gasped at the results. She saw servant toads trying to pick from the garden but saw a lot of the garden had dried up and many toads were frowning. Toad walked out of the castle and gasped at the sight of the garden.

"Toadette you shouldn't have left the garden unattended," said Toad.

He was attempting to rewater the plants and Toadette let out a nervous laugh.

"At least autumn came early," replied Toadette

Toadette had a moment of clarity and decided she would try to fix what had gone wrong. Every day after Toadette attended the garden to help correct her mistakes. Eventually, the garden recovered and everyone was happy. Mickey soon arrived back and Toadette went back to her rooftop garden. Toads from Castle and Gardens Magazine arrived and praised both gardens. Toadette was one day eating breakfast in the garden with Toad when Peach ran up to the rooftop to show Toadette the magazine.

"Toadette look! We received the Pretty Castle Award." gasped Peach with joy

Toadette smiled with joy at the news and Toad went to go hug her.
