After changing into the beautiful red, silk dress and having my hair done by Gwen, I was escorted to the main hall to dine with the king and Arthur.

As I entered, the two men rose from their seats and smiled at me as I approached them.

"Good evening sire, Arthur." I greeted them both with a curtsy.

"Please, Iraina. No need for such formalities." The king smiled as he kissed my hand.

We sat and ate as I patiently listened to the King and Arthur talk about Arthur's training.

"Iraina. How are you settling into the castle?" The King asked after sipping from his goblet of wine.

I nodded. "Very well, sire. Everyone here has been most kind."

The King smiled. "I'm glad to hear it. I won't have any of my guests mistreated, least of all my best friend's daughter."

I grew sad at the mention of my father, but attempted to hide it to avoid any awkward situations lasting the rest of dinner.

When the dinner was over, we had one last drink before thinking of going back to our chambers and sleeping.

"Lady Iraina, allow me to escort you back to your chambers." Arthur smiled.

I smiled and nodded.

He moved round to the other side of the long table by going behind his father and held out his arm.

I linked mine loosely with his and we bid the King goodnight before leaving the hall.

Arthur walked me to my room and we entered together.

"Well..." He started, letting my arm go. "Goodnight my lady."

He turned to leave but I pulled him back by his arm.

"Let's go for a ride." I suggested.

"Now?" Arthur asked.

I nodded.

"Why not?"

"Because it's very late, you need your beauty sleep and I have training tomorrow." Arthur said.

I sighed. "Fine. I'll just go on my own."

This time Arthur sighed. It was frustrated.

"Fine. But no more than an hour." He said. I nodded. "Meet me by the stables in half an hour."

I nodded once more and closed my door behind him as he left.
