Nainika's POV:

" I do not understand his problem? Why should he behave so absurdly in front of everyone " I was frustrated after the stupid meeting which happened a few moments ago.
It was like any other day meeting but what is new here is, that instead of a business meeting it turned out into a marriage proposal.
" Ma'am I too didn't expect something like this could happen. I never thought he had such intentions regarding you. Such a cheap person he is " Seema bombarded while she too was in same condition.
" Just let everyone know that I am not interested in any meeting right away. After a week or so we will again arrange a meeting excluding him " I said to which she nodded and left to inform the same.

An hour ago:

" Is everything ready in the conference room Seema " I asked hurriedly and she nodded her head in positive. We were in the lift and as soon as we reached the floor we entered into the room where everyone are waiting for us.
" Sorry for the delay everyone. Good morning and really nice to meet you all " I greeted everyone with a smile.
Everyone nodded while I started to remove the pendrive when someone interrupted me.
" Ma'am Mr Sharma is still not here. I contacted him and he said he will be here within few minutes. If you don't mind can you wait for him to come " he said.
" Not a problem sir. We will start after he arrives. Till then I will keep everything ready " he nodded and I started to do my work.
" Excuse me everyone. I started early but the traffic was too much. I hope no one is upset with my delay? " He said with a chuckle and everyone shook their heads with a smile.
" Okay gentlemen. Now that everyone is here. I will get started.... " Like that I finished with my presentation about the upcoming project.
" As you can see it's a very huge project I want you all to join with me and as a team we can complete it in time and also whatever the profit is we can share it among everyone equally " I finished. Throughout the presentation I observed that the Sharma guy was gawking at me and I just ignored it coz the project is more important to me than his stupid gaze.
" Very great idea ma'am. I will definitely look into it " a middle aged man replied with a smile.
" you said the profits will be shared among everyone equally right? " Mr Sharma asked to which I said yes.
" Then it will be a problem I guess. As you see we are five partners and sharing profits between five could be a problem. Don't you think so? " He asked and I was shocked with his ridiculous question.
" It might be complicated but not impossible sir " I replied.
" Hmm " he said while thinking deeply.
" You do not have to worry about it sir. We can make it work together " I said confidently.
" Why can't we make it four shares instead of five? " He asked and everyone around us looked at him quizzically.
" How can that be possible? Do you want to exit the project? " Someone questioned from my right side and I looked at him for his response who was looking at me now.
" Why can't we both become one and then it will be four " he said still looking at me.
" I don't understand what you are implying Mr Sharma " I said sternly understanding his lame intention but still I was hoping him to back off.
" What's there to not understand Ms. Nainika. I am saying why can't we get married and make our deal as one. Then problem solved " he said simply shrugging his shoulders and everyone gasped with utter shock and I was just not in a condition to even sit in front of him.
" Any other word from you and you will be thrown out of my office. Get out immediately before I call the security " I fumed at him who was just sitting cooly without any fear.
" No need for that Nainika. I will go by myself and remember about what I said. I am being serious here. Bye " with that he left everyone with utter disbelief.I stomped on my foot to my cabin and Seema was following me.

Present time :

" Tell everyone that the meeting will be again rescheduled next week. And tell them it will be just the four and he will be excluded " I said and Seema nodded understanding me.
After some time she came back.
" Ma'am everyone agreed and I am leaving to my cabin. If you need anything just call me " with that she left from there.
How dare he says like that? How can he be so mannerless to talk to a girl that too me like that. I was fuming with anger and I don't know how I will calm down.
"  Ma'am there is someone to meet you. Should I send him in? " She called and said.
" No Seema do not send anyone inside unless I inform you to " with that I disconnected the call.
I groaned and put my head on the table in the front thinking about that situation again and again.
" You cannot just barge in like that sir. I told you already not to.. " why was Seema shouting. Wait why it sounds too near. I glanced towards the door to see Sunayn standing there with his hands in pockets and looking at me with smile. I could have melted in his eyes but I am not in that condition.
" Ma'am I said you are not available to meet but still he insisted and later barged in " Seema was looking down while saying and I felt sad for her. I can say she did not do it intentionally.
" It's okay Seema. Do not worry. You may leave now " I said and she left.
" Now tell me why did you forcefully come into my cabin when you were told that I am not available? " I asked rather sternly coz I was seriously not understanding his problem now.
" That was not the way I thought you would speak to me. I rather thought you will be delighted with my presence " he said.
" Why would I be? What are we? Huh!? Do you even know anything about me? Are we atleast friends? What are we that you are barging inside like you owe the place? " I roared at him. I know I am being mean by saying all these things to him but I want to truly know his intention behind this. Why is he behind me? I thought he would be in love or at least like the person who wrote him letters but here he is openly trying to flirt with me. How wrong was I? He did not think about that me who wrote him letters. He forgot her. He is happy to move on. Tears formed in my eyes thinking about it.
" Why are you getting angry with me? If we are not friends then we can be friends now. Can't we? " He said calmly while the bubble inside me is ready to burst.
" You are not... " I was about to say when he said.
" First call your PA and say to bring coffe for the both of us. I can see you are not in a condition to understand me at all ". I sighed and did as he said. Till the coffee was served I didn't remember I had a headache. While sipping I saw Sunayn looking at me with a small smile and I felt timid all of a sudden. I should not have shouted on him. How wrong I was. He was here to just be friends with me and I thought he forgot me. Just by being friends with me doesn't mean he forgot me(letters girl). He might be genuine too.
I sighed heavily and cleared my throat to remove the thick air.
" Umm... I shouldn't have bursted at you but the thing was very serious and at the same time you appeared. I couldn't control myself. I am so sorry " I said feeling ashamed of myself.
" It's alright but what's the matter that you became so serious? " He asked curiously.
" It's something related to work and thanks for your concern though " I said trying to shoo off the thought of that guy.
" And by the way I had to talk to you about something " he said suddenly and I sat up straight.
" Sure. Go on " I said
" That night you were so drunk that you couldn't even walk " he said chuckling and I felt embarrassed. I should have anticipated it but my brain always has its own works.
" Umm.. th..that.. " I stuttered.
" Do you remember whatever happened that night? " He asked rising his brows to which I nodded confused.
" Umm.. during ...dance..I...I...kind of kissed yo..you on you...your ear " he said closing his eyes and later peeking through his one eye and I just blushed out of nowhere.
" It was not what I was expecting though. It's alright. We were drunk and it's not a big deal " sounding careless while he just scratched his neck.
" Hmm. I just don't want you to think me to be a jerk as you remember I flirted with you for no reason. That's why I want to clear everything. Now that I want to be friends with you " he said looking straight towards me.
" Sure then. Friends? " I said shaking my hands with him.
After that everything took a turn in my life.
We would go out very frequently during evenings like pub, shopping, skating, meditation classes and sometimes in coffee shop. Ranjith also would join if he is available though virtually as he is far away now.
The bond between us definitely grown stronger with passing day and one day Mr Shahi confronted me about him. I said we are friends to which he just shrugged and went away. I still didn't understand his gesture.
At present we are in my apartment watching a movie. We in the sense me and Sunayn. He selected the movie and it was a Hollywood movie. It was some sci fi genre and to be honest it was getting interesting.
While watching TV he would steal glances now and then and I didn't understand behind that glance and smile but I pushed that thought away. For now I have Sunayn with me who I had dreamed about always. Not as a lover but at the least I can spent time like a friend. Whatever the time I be with him it's always like time flying past me and I am still in that moment cherishing it.
I was looking at him instead of watching TV.
" You can actually bite me if you intend to " he said without looking at me and I just blushed at him. He would sometimes flirt with me but now I don't get agitated. I just enjoy it. The movie came to an end so the time for him to leave too.
" Tomorrow is Sunday and I want to take you to a place. If you want to come only " he said raising his hands.
I chuckled saying an okay. I was shocked when he embraced me tightly.
" You will definitely like it " he whispered in my ear. It is the first time that we both embraced and that too without any restrictions.
Then he left reminding me again about the time. I looked in the mirror and blushed hard remembering about the hug we shared few seconds ago. My heart  was feeling thrilled with it. There was a marathon going on with my feelings right now.
" I can't wait to see you again. You don't have any idea of how I am falling harder for you with each passing second " I whispered to myself and closed my eyes reminiscing our hug again and again.
Next day as decided we both went to the place he mentioned. It was nowhere to be particular. It was a road with forest on both sides.
" Where are we? " I questioned.
" Come with me " he lead me into the forest where there was a little clearing. As we went inside the clearing increased and I could see the beautiful forest.
" Ma'am there is something on your foot " said Raju from a distance and he did something with my shoe. Raju also came with me but he maintained a lot of distance from us.
