Third person's POV:

Nainika was unconscious and she didn't reply to her brothers' calls. She just laid there as if she is dead. This made Debashish even more panicked and he tried to wake her up by all means but it went in vain.

" Naina please open your eyes. I am here. You are safe. Don't do this wake up. Please " he begged and his tears were unstoppable. Ranjith also tried to wake her up but she didn't move an inch. He carried her outside where the medics were already waiting if there is any emergency. He immediately put her on the stretcher and asked them to check her. When the doctor checked her pulse, she said that she is having very less time and should be treated immediately. So, she started her treatment and the ambulance moved with high speed.

Eventually Ranjith again went inside and consoled Debashish. He along with Mr. Shahi came out and Mr. Patel ordered his officers to take inspection of whole place and went along with Ranjith. They sat in his car and moved towards the hospital where Nainika is supposed to be treated. All this while the panic which Ranjith felt was limitless. The words the doctor said about Nainika made him realize what she might have gone through in these past days. He couldn't stop himself from tapping his leg continuously trying to stop it from shivering due to fear. This was the worst moment in his life where he saw his friend almost die tied to a bloody chair with blood-soaked clothes. He just prayed that she would be fine and healthy soon but he was sure that her mental condition will be affected considering the fact that she was tortured not less than an animal or more.

In the ambulance the doctor immediately attached a saline to her and started cleaning her wounds. She understood that her clothes are completely wet with clothes so she cut her clothes and somehow managed to put her a spare hospital gown. She cleaned all the wounds possible and also kept an oxygen mask as her breathing became very shallow. As soon as they were in front of the hospital, she was rushed to intensive care unit (ICU) and started treatment.

It's evening and there was no sign of improvement in Nainika's condition. Her wounds were bandaged and her vitals were checked. Every possible test was done and there was no massive damage done. Except one. Her breathing is normal and also heart beat is normal. But she laid there without showing any sign of movement. The doctors' finalized that she had gone into temporary coma. Her body was reacting but her mind wasn't.

This news devastated Debashish. He almost fainted when he discovered that his little sister is in coma. He never expected that there will be a day where his sister will be laying in hospital bed and him standing helpless. He wanted to do something and bring his precious sister back to him but he very well knows he was helpless and the only way he could bring her back is trust god and hope that she will become normal. He could trade anything to just see his sister normal but there is nothing which is in his hands.

Ranjith was shocked could be an understatement. He was not her best friend but deep down he understood her. The very first time he met her, the way she tried to help him out even though she is not his friend. The way she would talk and the small smile she would give to his stupid jokes. In a very less time he understood that Nainika is an innocent girl who only wanted others happiness. He also observed that she doesn't have any friends except for Nivedha. He wanted to be her best friend and make sure that she can share anything with him without a second thought. But now seeing her almost lifeless shattered him.

Mr. Shahi made sure that Nainika is being attended by best doctors who can make her recover soon. The last time he saw her she was sick and he didn't forget the pain he saw in her eyes when he mentioned about her father. He just wanted her safe and she is not less than his own daughter.

" I am sorry Debu. It was my fault to meet her that day. If only I didn't meet her this would have never happened " Mr. Patel said and the tears behind his eyes were evident that he was more than sorry for pushing her in this condition. After seeing his uncle Debashish got up and hugged him and cried on his shoulder. The old man couldn't keep his tears at bay so he too cried. Witnessing this Ranjith felt a bit relieved that Nainika had people who truly could take care of her.

Days passed by but the condition was the same. It was as if she was alive but dead. It felt like her brain is willingly avoiding her from moving. Slowly her wounds were being healed and the doctors said that it would take a lot of time to completely heal them as they were quite deep cuts mostly.

Debashish stayed whole day at the hospital making sure to ask the doctors about her condition but their reply would be the same. He would sit beside her bed for hours together and cry in solitary sometimes. He would talk about her favorite places, food and also about their childhood. Doctors told him that talking to her constantly is good and maybe she could hear our voices and come back from coma so he never gave up and kept talking to her all the time. Ranjith would also come to her every evening to check on her but would be heart broken to see her closed eyes all the time. When he went to college after the incident, he was interrogated by Nivedha about Nainika and when he told her about the kidnap, she literally slapped him for not telling her soon and later she cried her eyes out for her best friend. No one in the college knew about it coz they wanted it to be a secret as it may effect Nainika if she comes to college and people would treat her differently for being kidnapped. So, Mr. Shahi made sure not to spread this news and took permission from the Principal about her absence.

" I broke up with Veda today. She is not a good lady to be my wife or my girlfriend. She insulted you very badly and I was blind all these days to not see the real her. The real monster who tried to manipulate and separate from you. I don't want a girl who would disrespect you. I want someone like you who would love me unintentionally and care for me like a mother " Debashish said while holding her fragile hand in his. He took leave from job for a few days and was working from home. That home turned out to be a hell from the day his mother came back and acted like a vicious lady without a heart. She laughed when he told her Nainika was kidnapped. He thought his mother was not too cruel to laugh at someone's pain particularly at Nainika but the reality made him hate her more. Hence, he decided to work from hospital itself and never bothered to talk to his mother. He would just sleep and come back to hospital and avoided his mother as much as he could.

When he was done talking, he left as visiting hours were over. But he did not observe the slight movement of her finger when he stopped talking to her. She was listening to everything he was saying but her mind was refusing her to respond. It felt like as if she was hypnotized.

Mr. Patel went back to investigate the case but he couldn't find the people who were behind this. They never left a clue or an evidence and it made him even more remorseful that he was not able to punish the people who hurt his favorite daughter.

Ranjith used to visit her daily whereas Nivedha would come alternate days as her home was very far from hospital. She never failed to visit during weekends though. Nivedha would end up crying as her best friend wouldn't respond to her talks. He would drag her along saying she needs rest. This continued for two weeks now.

" You know Naina yesterday's football match was so interesting and I didn't sleep till late in the night. And I am sleepy now " Ranjith said yawning and Debashish smiled at his childhood behavior. Within less time he understood Ranjith very well and treated him like his brother. He was funny to have around and he felt his sister to be lucky to have such a cool friend.

" I forgot to tell you that our senior Sunayn I mean Sunny bhayya is going to write that NDA exam next week. He got selected in physical test which was held yesterday and I am so happy for him. he was ecstatic when he came to college today and I hope he will clear this exam too so that he can achieve his goal. And you might have seen him today... " he couldn't finish his sentence coz he saw Naina's finger move and he immediately called the doctor while Debashish was confused with his behavior. The doctor and a nurse rushed inside and started examining her.

" I just now her move these fingers doctor. I think she was listening to everything we were telling. Please check " Ranjith said in a go and the doctor nodded and scribbled something on his clipboard.

" Di..did you really see her fingers moving Ranjith? " asked Debashish while controlling his tears to which Ranjith nodded happily. He hugged him tightly and let few tears slip off his eyes.

" I think her condition is improving slowly and I can say she will soon gain consciousness. We need to wait patiently until she is completely conscious. Don't worry she will be fine very soon and keep communicating with her " doctor said with a small smile and left.

Debashish sighed in relief and prayed god to recover his sister soon.

" I am waiting to see your eyes Naina. I love them so much. Open your eyes soon so that I can see this world again with your eyes. I love you Naina come back soon. I am waiting for you " Debashish said while placing a kiss on her forehead and took her hand in his.

" Don't forget that your crazy friend here is waiting to be tutored by you. I am leaving for now. See you tomorrow and you must be awake by tomorrow " Ranjith fake mocked at her. Then he said his good bye to Debashish and left.

" I will see you tomorrow bacha. Missing you and take care " Debashish kissed her forehead again and left hospital with a light satisfaction that she did show some movement today.

As soon as he left a tear escaped from her left eye which disappeared into her hair and the nurse didn't bother to look at it.
