Chapter Two: One Seduces, One Has Excuses
(Big thanks to ImNotCrazyImAFangirl for making this for a pun I made!)

In all honesty, I was avoiding Aliyah. I know, this is not the best way to deal with what I need to do... but you see, I really don't want to do it. Putting it off as long as possible sounds much better. The only problem is, Julia won't stop pestering me about it. After two excruciatingly long days she decided to stop bothering me, but I can't help being suspicious. She's acting so... off. I would love to leave her alone and not have to deal with whatever she was doing, but, being the amazing friend that I am, I can't let her do stupid stuff without my supervision.
I walked over to my strange friend, watching her suspiciously.
"What'cha planning, Julia?" I ask. She jumped, which translates to: nothing good. Great.
"Nothing really, just helping you deal with that bet you lost!" She grinned widely, too widely.
I shook my head quickly, staring at her. "That is not at all necessary! I can handle myself!"
Julia put her hands on her hips and raised her left eyebrow. "Really? Is that why it's been two days and you still don't have a date with Aliyah?" I open my mouth to protest, but she cuts me off. "You need help, and I'm here for you! You just need to trust me!"
•Aliyah•
Pushing Zo- that girl to the back of my head for the last couple days helped me. I still don't know why I was so hooked on her. Perhaps what they say is true. The moment you can't have something, it seems better than anything else. I always found that stupid, but here I am, falling victim to it.
Drowning out thoughts of her was easy enough. All I had to do was invite a new girl over each night, and bam! I'm cured. The only thing that would make it easier to forget about it is if Jacki would stop bringing it up. I swear, the next time she talks about Zoe, I'm snapping her neck.
"You know, I think a permanent relationship could be good for you!" Jacki claimed, painting her nails a shade of robin's egg blue.
"I think my life is perfectly fine the way it is," I retorted, coating my nails in black. "We both know I'm not going into a serious relationship anytime soon."
Jacki pouted, looking over to me. "But Ali!" She whined obnoxiously.
"You don't even have a serious relationship!" I snapped, dripping nail polish onto my floor. I cursed quietly and got paper towels and nail polish remover. Jacki snickered and I glared viciously at her. That got her to stop pretty quickly.
"I mean, Zoe is fairly cute. I think she likes you." She closed the bottle to her nail polish as she spoke. "She was awfully blushey."
I rolled my eyes, throwing away the paper towels. "Everyone is blushey around me, I am the master of making people blush."
"That's not the point! You know what? I bet you couldn't get Zoe to spend the night with you if you tried!" Jacki yelled, finally frustrated a she glared at me.
"Fine, I bet I can!" I matched her tone and returned her glare. "If I win, you stop pestering me to get a permanent relationship!"
"If you lose, I get to set you up on actual dates!" Jacki was no longer angry, now yelling out of excitement.
"Fine!" They shook hands, staring each other down.
"I'm giving you a week to get into Zoe's pants." Jacki stated, setting an alarm on her watch.
"That's too much time," I stated, getting cocky and overly confident.
"Fine, Ms. I can rule the world, you have forty-eight hours to make Zoe head over heels for you," Jacki smirked, laying back on the bed.
Okay.. maybe forty-eight hours would be a little harder.

Well isn't this fan freaking tastic. Julia decided that I need to get Aliyah's attention by dressing nicer. What was wrong with the way I dressed, I'll never know, but there was something wrong with it. She had me dress up in a strapless white dress that went my mid thigh. And, on top of that, she put me in heels! Black high heels!I'm fairly certain I'm going to trip and break my nose.
If Julia says this will help be seduce Aliyah.. then I guess I'll have to take my chances. I sigh and take wobbly steps next to Julia, who constantly has her hand on my back to keep me from falling. I was two inches taller in this ridiculous pair of shoes. I grip Julia's arm, desperately not wanting to fall.
When we get to the school, I see Aliyah, standing outside in all her perfect glory. She was wearing black leggings and a flowy white shirt, and I thought she looked prettier than ever.
"Remember your lines," Julia reminded me, before pushing me towards the gorgeous girl in front of me. I glared at her, and walked closer to Aliyah.
She smirked when she saw me, which made me nervous. I took a deep breath and walked closer, trying to appear confident.
"Well, if it's not my Darling, Zoe," She purrs in her sweet voice. I take a deep breath and try to control the heat rising in my cheeks.
"Hey there, Princess." I try to mimic her tone, but it sounds more awkward than anything. Aliyah laughed, a pleasant sound, like music to my ears.
"Someone's trying to be confident today, huh?"She stalks closer to me, and I suddenly forget all of the tips Julia taught me to be prepared.
"A-ARE YOU A CAMERA, 'CAUSE EVERY TIME I SEE YOU I SMILE!" I blurt out, yelling into her face. 10/10, great way to get a girlfriend. Scream pickup lines into her face. Kill me.
She just raised her eyebrow and looked at me. "Nice outfit. I think it would look better on the floor of my bedroom."
It took me a minute to comprehend what she said, but when I did, my face flushed darker than before, and I couldn't form words.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Julia sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose.
"I- Um- I have to go... to go to get ready for school!" I started walking away from her, and, forgetting I was wearing torture devices on my feet, I tripped and fell on my face. This is why I don't do heels!
Julia quickly helped me up, waving goodbye to a frustrated Aliyah. I took off the heels before speed-walking away from Aliyah. Luckily, I had convinced Julia to let me pack clothes that I would wear on a normal basis, and sneakers! Beautiful sneakers! I went into the bathroom to change, and glared at Julia.
"Jules! That went horribly! Did you see that?" I sighed and hit my head against the wall.
All Julia did was try not to laugh before comforting me. "Well, when we went over the plan, it didn't involve pick up lines, falling, or yelling. But you know, good try." I flipped her off and hit my head against the wall a second time.
"How do you even seduce people?!" I looked at her, frowning.
"We need to follow the algorithm Aliyah uses," She decided, grabbing a notebook out of her backpack.
The bell rang, signalling it was time to get to class, and I cursed at it. Julia put her arm on my shoulder.
"Meet me on the hill for lunch, then we'll figure this out, okay?"
I sighed and nodded, picking my backpack up from the ground. "Meet you there."
•Aliyah•
I watched Zoe leave with a huge frown on my face. And then, she fell. Alright, I have to admit, that was hilarious. She squeaked in embarrassment and her friend had to take her away. I pouted and walked over to a smirking Jacki.
"So, how'd that work out for you?" Seeing my frown only made her smirk wider.
I scowled and started walking towards my locker. "She ran away, claiming she had to get ready for the school we are currently at."
Jacki sniggered and opened her locker. "Looks like you may be losing this bet, Ali." She was smirking like she had already won. Hell no.
"I still have forty hours!" I claimed, grabbing some books.
"You know what? I don't think Zoe's interested in you. I think you're going to lose, and it will be hilarious."
I glared at her and walked to my next class, fuming.
