Chapter One: Never Make a Bet with Julia
•Zoe•
Never make a bet with Julia. I had to learn this the hard way. I'm Zoe Williams, and my best friend in the whole world, Julia Rowans, is someone you don't bet against. I did, and look where it landed me. Tasked with the impossible. After making the genius decision to bet with her, and losing said bet, I have to seduce none other than Aliyah Larson. The Aliyah Larson. The baddest, most seductive girl in school. The girl who could get anyone she wanted, no matter what gender, into bed. She also so happens to be the girl I have a crush on. Great. Now I have to, as Julia phrased it, 'wrap her around my finger.' As if. Of course Julia meant well, but she sure wasn't doing much to help me out. Okay... maybe me having to actually do something about my crush would be good... but I seriously didn't want to.
Julia and I walked off to school after a sleepover together, and I was more nervous than ever. I was wearing a black tanktop and jeans, while Julia was in a white skirt with a blue top. Her black hair was in a bun on top of her head, and her brown eyes had an obscene amount of makeup around them. My brown hair went down to the small of my back in curls, and I had light blue eyes. Julia laughed at my nerves, and I glared at her. Of course I'm nervous! I need to seduce the seducer! I looked at the large brick school in front of me, sighing. Time to go back to hel- I mean school! Great! Julia smirked, looking over to me.
"So, you excited to get Aliyah to fall for you?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
I glared at her, pushing my glasses up my nose. "So very excited. Gee thanks, best friend in the world."
Julia laughed and put her arm on my shoulders. My tan skin was pale in comparison to her dark skin.
"You got this, hot stuff!" She claimed, grinning. "Aliyah will love you!"
This got me to rule my eyes. I poked her eye, and she pushed my away, loudly exclaiming that I was a terrible person. I laughed and stuck my tongue out at her.
"Take that, loser!" I grin, getting to the entrance of the school.
Jullia glared and flipped me off.
"You know you love me," I claimed, smiling cheekily at her.
"I would sell you to Satan for a corn chip!" She declared, moving to poke my eye, instead poking my glasses, and getting them smudged. I laughed, and opened the door for both of us, knocking into none other than the seduction queen herself, Aliyah Larson.
•Aliyah•
I woke up with a migraine, next to a sleeping girl, as per usual. I yawned and pulled the sheets off myself, leaving the girl undisturbed. Who is that? I think to myself, then realize I have to clue what her name is, what grade she's in, or anything about her. Oh well. After glancing at her one more time, I walk into my bathroom to take a quick shower. By the time I get out and start blow drying my strawberry blonde hair, I hear retching coming from my bedroom. I groan, and choose to ignore it for the moment. It'll be simple enough to get someone to clean it later.
Once the retching stops, I walk out to change into high waisted shorts, and a white crop top.
"Feel free to take a shower," I tell the girl, without looking her way as I do my makeup. She nods and walks into the bathroom, and I hear the shower turn on.
Once I'm satisfied with the way my face looks, I walk downstairs and grab an apple for lunch. Right as I finish the fruit, my brother, Jax, comes downstairs. He has dark brown hair, and emerald green eyes. I smile and him and throw the core of the apple at his head. He easily a oids it, grabbing cereal for himself.
"Your room smells like vomit," He noted, which made me roll my eyes.
"Thanks for the observation, Sherlock." I tell him sarcastically. "I brought a lightweight over."
"Rookie mistake!" He stated, shaking his head disapprovingly.
I flick his head and grab a purse that had everything I need. "Tell her to get to school when she comes down." I pull on a pair of wedged shoes and waved at Jax, my fingernails painted black.
He sighed, but nodded. "Fine, see ya later."
After our farewells, I walked over to my car, and drove over to school, still early. I liked to get to school early, to get the best parking spot. Well, it also didn't hurt that there was a chance of there being some hot people I can hit on. I parked, then walked into the school, waiting by the entrance for anyone from my friend group. Ten minutes later, like always, my best friends showed up, all grinning. Our perfect group consisted of Mark Roberts, Daniel Roberts, myself, and Jacki Samuel. Mark and Daniel were my cousins, and twins. They both had chiseled features, brown hair, and eyes so dark they appeared black. Jacki was my best friend since diapers. We were born six days apart, and she would never let me forget that she was older. She had blonde hair that she dyed light blue, and bright blue eyes.
Together, we were the killer friend group.
We hung out for a few minutes, and I realized I forgot my purse in the car after a few little while. I groaned, and walked towards the door to get it. When I got to the door, a girl at least four inches shorter than me bumped into my chest. I raised my eyebrow at the dark haired girl, but didn't make a scene. Her cheeks turned bright red, which led me to smirk. I had this affect on people, and I found it hilarious. Another girl was standing behind her, and it looked like she was trying her best to keep from laughing. I shot a glare her way, then looked back down to the stuttering girl in front of me. She was alluring in a strange way. With my signature smirk, I decided it was time to make her blush some more.
•Back to Zoe•
This is just peachy. I ran into my Aliyah. Right into her. Great. I backed away from her, stuttering an apology, wearing a ridiculously blushey face. She was smirking the whole time, and I felt the need to flip off my so called 'best friend' who was snickering the entire time. I felt better when I saw Aliyah shoot her a glare, but went back to having that butterflies-in-my-stomach feeling when she looked back down at me. If she wasn't smirking, I may have done better. But there she was, smirking at me like she already owned me. I mean if she wanted to- Okay, not going to think like that.
"S-sorry about that," I finally manage to get out. Wow, to start off my first official conversation with Aliyah, I use a stuttery sentence, a forgettable one.
You know how sometimes you want to smack the smirk off of someone's face? I wanted to kiss the smirk off of hers. Don't judge me.
"Don't worry about it, Darling," Aliyah purred, sending chills down my spine. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Julia staring and gesturing at me, and the meaning was clear. Well, to me, anyway.
You're supposed to be seducing her, not the other way around! I glared at her. I knew what I was supposed to be doing!
"You look- erm, look really good today!" I compliment in a small voice, causing her to laugh. I couldn't tell if she was laughing at or with me, but either way I wanted to hear that laugh again.
She smirked at put her hand on the wall behind my head. I didn't realize that we had moved while we spoke, but now that her arm was next to my head, I sure did comprehend it. My expression must've been priceless, because she looked close to cracking up.
"Thanks, Darling." Yet again, she used that purr of a voice that made me blush. I looked into her sparkling grey eyes. She seemed amused by my flustered self.
More people started filing into the school, but she didn't drop her arm. No one stopped to say anything, they were used to Aliyah trying to scoring in the hallway.
Before I said anything else, I noticed Julia's gaze telling me the same thing as before. I sighed lightly, and smiled at Aliyah.
"I- um- really have to.. to get to class," I manage to get out as I ducked under her arm. "I-I'll see you around." Julia grabs my arm and quickly pulls me away, Aliyah watching the whole thing. I was positive my cheeks were flushed, and I put my head in my hands as Julia pulled me away.
•Aliyah•
I watched the girl get pulled away by her friend, slightly disappointed that I wasn't able to give her my number and convince her to come over later. My friends teased me about the encounter, so instead of moping, I decided to go get another girl to come over to my place tonight. I'm Aliyah freaking Larson! I can get anyone I want! I thought bitterly as I got a number from a girl with fake blonde hair. I did the usual routine, acted like the seduction machine that I am, but still couldn't shake the feeling of failure I got from not being able to get anything from that girl. Not even her name!
I went through my classes, bored of the subjects. I knew if something actually important came up, Daniel would pass me his notes and tell me to memorize them.
Finally, lunch rolled around. My favorite subject! Well, favorite after science. That class is at least a slight bit interesting. I sat down at my table, thinking about the girl from earlier. Usually, most girls didn't have this big of an impact on me. It was more of a system where I never remember much of the girl.
As I was thinking of the girl, Dan, Mark, and Jacki came over.
"Oh look, she's absolutely smitten." Jacki joked with a kissy face.
Dan and Mark laughed. "Is the seducer thinking about settling down?" Dan asked teasingly, mimicking Jacki's face.
"I call maid of honor at the wedding!" Mark yelled, gaining attention from some people. With a few winks and well placed words, they ignored him.
I flipped them off with both hands, rolling my eyes. "If I was 'smitten,' why would I have a date with a certain fake blonde?" I asked, grinning in victory.
"Denial." The three answered at the same time, eating their lunch.
"That was creepy," I informed them, rolling my eyes as I ate. "I don't even know her name."
"It's Zoe Williams," Mark informed me. "And she is very single."
"Good to know," I muttered, halfway through my lunch.
