Chapter 1- The Beginnings

“Latias Airlines will be reaching the destination in one hour. Kindly, please check your luggage and belongings in case you missed something. Have a nice journey.” The lady announcer had finished her duty of reminding the sleepy guests. Many sleepy guests had woken up and arranging their strayed away belongings together. Some were visiting the washroom, somewhere check their luggage. The quaint atmosphere of the airplane was now filled with the chatters and cries of the guest.

In the corner of 3rd row of the left side of the seats, a honey blonde-haired girl was sitting. She adjusted her honey blonde hair which was covered by a white straw hat with a blue ribbon tied around it. She wore a white sleeveless dress with red buttons. It has little frills around the shoulder blade with a collar neck. The white bodice had cascaded down by covering the red skirt in the flower petal pattern

She had let her three Pokemon out of the ball. Braxien and Sylveon sat beside her and Pancham decided to sleep in her lap. While patting the Playful Pokemon, she looked outside the windows. The creamy white cotton candies were taking shape of different Pokemon. A serene smile had made way in her face. A new hope, a new journey was waiting for her in the Hoenn Region. 

Suddenly, the voice of the announcer chimed in.

“ Latias Airlines had landed on Rustboro International. Passengers, thanks for your presence. Have a safe depart.”

Hearing this, she quickly returned her Pokemon except for Braxien. After stepping down, she went to the Caller Section and informed her of her safe landing in Hoenn.

“Serena, remember to contact her. She can help you out in Hoenn. She knows the region like the back of her hand.” Grace reminded her daughter.

“Yes mom, I remember. Bye, bye, and say hi to Rhyhorn.”
Serena abruptly ended the call. Before she can put the phone down, she remembered Prof. Sycamore told her to contact him too.  Remembering this, she dialed to his laboratory.

“Hello, I’m Professor Sycamore from Lumiose City Pokemon Research Centre. May I know who are you calling?” Professor Sycamore’s voice entered through the call.

“It’s me, Professor. I’ve reached safely in Hoenn Region.” Serena spoke.

“Hello, Serena. That’s great to hear.”  Recognizing her voice, Prof Sycamore continued,” I’m in rush today. Serena, make a visit to Devon Corporation. You’ll get to know a lot about Hoenn from the president. I’ll make an appointment for you with the President.”

“Arghhh! It’s already time. Serena if you want to ask about how to update your Pokedex, then visit Professor Birch in Littleroot Town. Remember to contact me after your visit. “ 

Saying this he disconnected the call.  It took a few seconds for Serena and Braxien to recover from the sudden shock.

“Braxien it seems that he’s really busy. Let’s go and find a place to rest for the day.” Serena said 

After finding her way to the nearest Pokemon center, Serena booked a single room to rest. She had changed into a white spaghetti lace top and black mini-skirt with a full-sleeved jeans jacket. She wore white socks and light blue high-tops on her legs and a black cap with Gothitelle eye design on the head. The blue ribbon was tied in her hands as a charm.

After checking her Pokemon with Nurse Joy, they had their brunch in the cafeteria. While they were having brunch, they heard of the commotion caused by some kids.

“Hey guys, did you hear a previous Top Coordinator has visited The Pokemon School. That person is demonstrating a contest round. Let’s go and see it.” Someone spoke.

“Guess, she still has her ways to spread a word of her presence.” She sighed. A smile appeared on her face.

“ Braxien, Pancham, and Sylveon finish your lunch. We have to go somewhere.”

Location- Pokemon Scool, Rustboro City

Time- 4 PM

Serena’s POV

 When we arrived at the Pokemon School, I saw many people from different age groups being gathered there. The hall was almost full that barely any seat left. I manage the seats in the first few rows for me and my Pokemon. Swepwa sat on my lap while Sylveon sat between me and Braxien and Pancham left to me. We had settled down well.

“Braxien and gang, watch carefully today. It’s a Contest Appeal Workshop for new trainers or someone who aspires to be a Pokemon Coordinator. We need it” I explained to my pokemon.

A lady with brown hair and red eyes entered the scene. She wore a white shirt and a red tie and a grey tunic dress with red tights and black mary janes. Her hair was styled in two buns either side with some hair left out at the bottom. She was the gym leader of Rustboro City.

“Hello Folks, I’m Roxanne, the gym leader of Rustboro City and Alumina of this school. Today I’ll not teach or be in charge. Today I welcome a very good friend of mine.  She is a top coordinator and a news reporter. She is none other than the smarty Shany Yvonne from Sinnoh Region.”

Roxanne announced.

An eighteen-year-old honey blonde girl entered the stage. She was wearing a white tee and forest green trousers and a white canvas and a Pokétech on her wrist. Her grey eyes scanned the crowd. I know she was looking if I was there or not. Smartypants!

“Hello, Rustboro how are you?” She spoke in an elegant manner.”I’m here to teach you about the basics of being a coordinator. Pokemon Coordinators are a special type of Pokemon Trainer that raise and train their Pokemon to specifically compete in Pokemon Contests rather than Gym Battles, though some trainers have been known to do both. I’m one of them.

Originating in the Hoenn region, Pokémon coordinating is based on showing off Pokémon in visually impressive ways. It also refers to the act of raising Pokémon particularly for Pokémon Contests, rather than for regular battles. As a result, it provides Trainers with an alternative to the Badge-collecting quest, giving them a different look at the many charms of Pokémon, as well as a distinct method for interacting with them. Trainers who focus in this area are called Pokémon Coordinators.

Coordinators typically concern themselves with the outward appearances of their Pokémon. Because of this, they tend to give them special, condition-enhancing treats made out of Berries that keep them looking good. They also concentrate on the movesets of their Pokémon, teaching them appealing, attention-grabbing attacks that can be easily combined to grant them additional points when used in Pokémon Contests. Like Trainers, Coordinators are also responsible for their Pokémon's overall health and well-being.

In all forms of Pokémon media, a Coordinator's Pokémon journey is focused on gathering a certain number of Contest Ribbons by competing in regional Pokémon Contests. In order to earn a Ribbon, they must compete against other Coordinators in different rounds of judging. A Contest Pass is usually required for entering these competitions. Additionally, in the Sinnoh region, Coordinators generally wear formal attire or costume to compete which is now mandatory in Hoenn.” 

It is not uncommon for seasoned Trainers, such as Wallace, to become interested in Pokémon Contests. Other Trainers, such as Nando, dedicate themselves to raise a team that can perform well in Pokémon Contests and Gym battles, collecting both Ribbons and Badges.”

She concluded the information on Contests.

“For the staters remember, Your Pokemon is the star, you’re the guide. You’ve to work as partners to reach the goal. Your friendship and bond with them will be helpful in times of need. Now let me show an appeal round and conclude the event.” 

Concluding it she walked towards the center of the stage.

“Eevee, Staraptor it’s showtime.”

An Eevee and Staraptor appeared on the stage.

“Eevee use rapid shadow ball.”

Eevee produced a purple orb and threw it towards the sky. The orb split into many similar orbs.

“Now use swift while spinning.”

Multiple copies of swift floated appeared on the stage and shattered into small sparkles all over the hall.

“In this way, you can showcase how fine the Pokemon moves are. Now I’ll be showing you appeal in a different way.” Shany explained to the audience.

“Staraptor use Agility.”

Staraptor flew fast. He looked suave and sharp when flying with that speed.

“Staraptor, Aerial Ace.”

Shany threw few fruits in direction of Staraptor which return finely sliced on the plate.

With this Shany bowed to the audience.

“Thanks for watching us.”
