Chapter 8: From Cold Winter's Grasp to Warm Spring's Embrace
(And we have the final chapter! The end of the best Frozen. Considering we are going to have another one for some reason. I don't get why they're doing this personally, but I did enjoy writing this. I cannot wait to write more of this cast! Enjoy!)
"Cool it!" Kaeya yelled as he stabbed the monster's left feet to try and freeze it.
However, the monster easily broke the ice and kicked Kaeya away. Kaeya held his sword to protect himself as he then slammed his sword on the ground to stop sliding away.
"Well, this is a little annoying" Kaeya admitted in an annoyed tone as Jean cast another healing spell over him.
"I know I've used up a good portion of my healing powers, but we have to hold out a little longer" Jean reassured Kaeya as he picked himself up.
"I am aware, but I do hope they will not keep us waiting. That would be rather rude of our saviors" Kaeya answered as he stood up and swung his sword downward.
Jean joined his side as she held her sword. She used her anemo to push herself and Kaeya forward. Kaeya then swung his blade to strike the monster while Jean was focusing on the front. She swung her blade to strike the monster's stomach. They jumped and rode the wind as they kept their swords close. Then, they took turns striking the monster, but the monster grew frustrated with their attacks and quickly spun his hands to knock them away! Kaeya hit the ground and rolled till he hit is back against a wall. Jean tried to land on her feet, but she ended up landing on her left side.
"Ah! That hurts..." she whispered in pain and struggled to pick herself up.
The monster noticed she was still conscious and trying to put up more of a fight. The monster turned to Kaeya who lost consciousness and marched towards him.
"Oh, no" Jean whimpered as she used the last of power to grab her sword and then point it at him.
The monster raised his fists and prepared to slam it down on him. Jean was able to use anemo to push Kaeya into a pile of freshly fallen snow. She sighed in relief as she saw the monster hit the ground. However, the monster was still furious and turned its attention to her. She crawled away from it, but she hit her back against a cold wall. She looked up at the monster who raised its fist at her. She gasped and closed her eyes as she waited for the strike.
"Leave my best friend alone!" Lisa shouted as she cast a powerful, electro spell at it.
"Lisa?" Jean asked in relief as her friend was standing to the side with Venti!
"I came as soon as I could" Lisa said seriously, "I was not going to let a horrible miscreation harm you"
Venti rushed to her and Kaeya as he created a powerful gust of wind for protection. Jean was able to heal herself and Kaeya, but she faced the monster with concern.
"We have to get rid of it" she said seriously.
"And I agree, but I am unsure how" Jean confessed as she tried to find a weak spot.
Mona was peeking through the sides as she silently cheered. Though, she had nothing to worry about since her divinations are never wrong. Fischl and Oz commended her and her efforts while Eula remained alert. Barbara looked around to see if anyone needed help.
"Gah!" Diluc grunted in pain as he clutched his chest.
Barbara gasped as she ran towards his side. She tried her best to use her powers to heal him. She was alarmed that her powers weren't working.
"Don't be discouraged..." he informed her, "Not even your sister could heal me..."
Barbara was horrified as she tried to think of anything to help him. She looked around for anything as Jean was carrying Kaeya into the building. She placed him near Eula, but Jean noticed her little sister wasn't present.
"She heard Diluc's pain" Eula answered.
Jean was surprised as she turned to the hallway.
"Woah!" Venti exclaimed as he was knocked into the headquarters.
Lisa created an electro barrier to protect herself as the monster threw another punch at her. Jean shook her head as she drew her sword and rushed to help her friend. She swung the blade to cut the arm and land beside Lisa.
"Thank you for that, but you are right. This thing will not go down without a fight" Lisa said annoyed.
"I am aware" Jean replied seriously as she prepared to fight the monster.
The monster let out a roar as it charged at them! Jean knew Lisa couldn't take that hit and pushed her back!
"Jean!" Lisa exclaimed as she tried to reach out to her best friend.
Jean created a barrier of wind to protect herself, but the monster easily smashed through her barrier! She gasped another punch knocked her down!
"Jean/Acting Grandmaster!" they shouted from the sides as she struggled to pick herself up.
Diluc could hear their worried cries as he forcefully picked himself up. He used his last remaining strength to run to Jean's aid and summon his claymore. He found her struggling to pick herself up as he lunged forward.
"Hayah!" he yelled as he swung the claymore to unleash a powerful, red phoenix!
Jean turned to him as the phoenix crashed into the monster, setting it on fire. He then collapsed from the pain and cried out in agony.
"Master Diluc!" Jean exclaimed as she rushed to his side.
"Jean..." he replied in pain.
She tried to help him, but she couldn't figure out what to do. She was shaking as he struggled and leaned his head against hers.
"It is ok" he struggled to say with a small smile, "I'll be fine... Thank you... for never giving up on me..."
Jean stared at his flaming, red eyes as he held a gentle expression. He gently gazed at her windy, blue eyes and stunned expression. She placed a hand on his cheek and decided to stay with him. She used her other hand to hold his. He could only smile at her.
"I love you" they whispered to each other as Venti laughed in delight.
Lisa glanced to the mischievous bard and asked, "What trick are you pulling?"
He stood up, brushed himself off, and answered, "Oh, I am not pulling a trick. No trick at all! The acting grandmaster was asking me for a cure for Master Diluc's condition. I already knew the cure, but I was sure if I said anything, it would upset the two of them. So, I decided to keep it to myself"
"And what, pray tell, is the antidote for the potent pain that befell Master Diluc?" Fischl asked curiously as she looked at him.
"Hehe" the bard winked and held a finger to his lips, "Why the most cliché and powerful antidote of all, true love for all"
Eula was surprised, but Lisa could onlt laugh! It sounded like something she would do to her friends. In a brilliant color of red and green, the lights surrounded Jean and Diluc as they held onto each other. Their visions gave them warmth and comfort as it slowly healed Diluc! He could feel his strength returning as he gripped her hand. She gripped his hand back and looked bewildered.
"What?" he asked as he felt warmth from his vision as well as his power.
"You're fine!" she exclaimed in delight as she rushed to hug him.
He sighed in relief as he returned her embrace.
"I'm fine. Thank you..." Diluc said in relief as he smiled.
Lisa and Eula could only smile at them while Kaeya recovered and grinned at the site of them.
"Well, sooner rather than later if you ask me" Kaeya said with a grin as Lisa went to help him stand up.
She looked at the area around themselves and noticed that the snow and ice were picking up a little bit.
"I do hope the cutie and the others can handle this" Lisa said with concern as she used her other hand to hold her hat.
Aether, Sucrose, Paimon, and Amber, with Klee in Sucrose's arms, were running after Albedo while the people were standing away.
"Come on, where is he?" Amber wondered aloud as she searched for him.
As they were searching, the snow and wind picked up. It was growing stronger and colder by the second.
"Woah!" Sucrose exclaimed as the wind blew her and Paimon away!
Amber jumped and caught Paimon as Aether rushed to help her stand up. However, she dropped Klee who rolled a bit away from them!
"Klee!" Sucrose shouted as she reached her hand out to find the little knight, "I lost Klee!"
Aether and she began to search for Klee as she picked herself up and shivered.
"It is so cold" Klee murmured in a cold tone as she looked forward, "I have to find... big brother Albedo"
She continued to walk forward and through the cold and forming snowstorm as Dottore was searching for Albedo.
"Come out, come out wherever you are" Dottore whispered in a dark tone as he made his way through the snowstorm.
"I have to keep going. I have to contain this hurt" Albedo whispered as he slowly made his way towards one of the exits.
However, he felt a dark presence near him as he summoned his sword. Dottore chuckled as he sensed Albedo near him. Dottore threw another test tube on the ground to awaken another monster of his creation, and had it grab Albedo before he could react!
"Ah!" Albedo cried out in and gasped at the site of Dottore, "What do you want with me? I demand that you let me go!"
"I will dissect you and understand the true meaning behind a person with two visions" Dottore answered with a malicious smile, "And no one will be here to save you!"
Albedo shook his head as he placed his hand on the monster. He closed his eyes as he felt the cold run through his body. Then, he unleashed it over the monster and froze it! Albedo swung his blade to break it and himself free! He landed on the ground and then faced Dottore his sword in hand.
"You will not take me, and my friends and family will stop you" Albedo declared in a matter-of-fact tone.
He pointed the blade at Dottore who glared at him until a smirk formed on his face.
"Really? You think your friends and family can save you and stop me? Especially when you used your powers to inflict harm on them with these powers of yours. It harmed the people, Master Diluc, and even your little sister I've heard. Such a pity since she would've grown up to a fantastic and powerful mage herself"
Albedo was shaking. Did he hear this right? Klee was hurt because of him? His power? He grabbed his head and shook himself. No, he didn't do that did he? He must've. Was it during his fight with the Traveler? No, she was out of the room at that point. His eyes were wide when he realized when this happened. It occurred when she was trying to talk to him.
"No, no, no. Did I really do this? No, oh, no... Klee!" he exclaimed as he fell to his knees and slammed his fist on the ground.
The snowstorm disappeared as the snowflakes were floating in the air. Everyone was stunned to see this. Albedo was on his knees and shaking. How could he ever face his friends? How could he ever face Alice? Klee is hurt because of him...
"Oh, Klee..." Albedo whispered in despair.
Dottore simply chuckled at the site of Albedo's despair and unsheathed a silver dagger from his side. Klee was surprised to see the snowstorm disappear from her eyes.
"Did big brother do this?" she asked bewildered as she took a cautiously step forward and observed her surroundings.
She searched for her big brother and let out a little gasp as she saw him on his knees and shaking. She saw Dottore holding a silver dagger as she took a running start, using the last of her strength to reach her big brother. Sucrose, Paimon, the Traveler, and Amber saw Klee running to their big brother in utter shock. They were stunned to see her running with all her might.
She stopped once she stood in front of her big brother, held her hands out, and shouted with all her might, "No! Don't hurt my big brother!"
Ice covered her entire body and froze her solid as Dottore slammed the silver dagger against her hands! He let out a painful yell as he was knocked back. He hit the ground as Albedo's eyes were wide.
"Klee!" he exclaimed in horror as he spun and faced her frozen form, "No, Klee..."
He was on his knees as he gently held her frozen face. A few tears fell from his face as he then embraced her. He was crying as he held her close while Sucrose, Amber, the Traveler, and Paimon watched from afar in sadness.
"Oh, poor Klee..." Paimon said as she felt her own tears falling.
Sucrose began to cry as Amber supported her and cried with her. The Traveler was saddened by this as he held Paimon close to him. They were comforting each other as best as they could when Venti arrived. He stepped besides them as he looked at the siblings. A smile formed just as the ice began to melt from Klee. Klee could feel her vision warming her up as she blinked a few times. She noticed she was being hugged by her big brother and hugged him back.
"Hi big brother Albedo!" she greeted warmly as Albedo was stunned.
"What? Klee!" he exclaimed in disbelief as he pulled away and saw her happy, bright expression, "How is this possible?"
"Love" Venti answered simply and with a grin as his hands were on his side, "Love has always been a power no one has understood. Whether it is loving someone romantically, platonically, family, and friend, love will always be there when someone needs it. I am sure you understand the rest of it, right?"
Albedo wiped his tears and looked at him and then Klee. He slowly picked himself up as he let the words Venti spoke sink in.
"Love" Albedo whispered as he held out his hands, chuckled, and grinned, "Love is it"
The snow and ice began to rise around them as they watched Albedo in awe. The snow and ice rose from the ground and went to Albedo. Everyone gazed at the scene to see the area from being covered in snow to the lush, lively green fields they were expecting in the spring. Albedo slowly raised his hands to the sky and let the snow and ice form a giant snowflake over their city. He then waved his hands to cast the snowflake away.
He sighed in relief as Klee jumped and hugged her big brother while saying warmly, "I knew you could it, big brother. I knew you could"
"Thank you, Klee" Albedo said warmly as he held her close.
Sucrose ran to them first and embraced them warmly as she cried in delight. Amber sighed in relief as she sat down while Paimon jumped from the Traveler's arms and cheered. The people were cheering as they were standing outside their homes to embrace the warmth of the spring. Most of the knights rushed to them and went to embrace the siblings. Jean was helping Diluc standing up and then sitting near them until they noticed Dottore waking up and looking at them in utter disbelief.
"No! Your vision should've killed her!" Dottore said in disbelief as he glared at them.
The knights were prepared to fight him for the comment as Albedo gently placed Klee down on the ground and right between Bennett and Razor. He approached Dottore who was glaring at him.
"And yet you never calculated all the angels needed to defeat us" Albedo answered simply as then punched Dottore in the face!
Dottore chuckled his face as he felt something break in his face. Kaeya and Rosaria then arrested and took him away from them as Klee then jumped to embrace her big brother in another hug.
"I knew you could it" she whispered warmly as she hugged him again.
"Thank you for believing in me, Klee" Albedo replied as he held her close.
Everyone was surrounding the siblings and talking with them warmly and excitedly. The siblings replied to them in equal excitement as they continued to talk with their friends and family before returning to the rest of the Windblume Festival to enjoy with them.
"And that's what transpired in our world!" Aether finished to Beresu who thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story with Sothis.
Lumine was laughing a bit at his reaction while Paimon held her hands on her hips.
"I can't believe this happen to you" Beresu said simply as Sothis rolled her eyes at the female twin's calmly reaction to everything.
"We have also more adventures to share with you if you would like to listen" Lumine said calmly as Aether nodded his head excitedly.
"Perhaps another time" Beresu informed the twins with a small smile, "We have other matches coming up. We should prepare ourselves for it"
Aether cheered warmly in agreement as Paimon followed him to the arena. Beresu glanced to Lumine who didn't move.
"Are you ok?" Beresu asked her as Sothis looked at her too.
"I am fine. I am just thinking about the many adventures we all went on" Lumine answered her as she prepared to follow her twin, "Do you have any stories you would like to share?"
Beresu pondered on this as she heard Sothis said warmly, "Why not share one? After all, we were just told a good one! How about a story from one of the houses?"
The teacher smiled in agreement and informed Lumine, "Yes, there is a story I wouldn't mind sharing with you. It was quite an interesting one too"
Lumine grinned at her as they were walking to the stadium for a match against the many fighters from other worlds.
