Chapter 3: Albedo's Frozen Feelings
(Ok first off, I blame the event for making me think of this. Second off, Khoi sang this song. Third off, if we love the Tar-tar galia song, then this song is also canon. At least in my eyes. Regardless, this is real. Enjoy!)
"Really?" Beresu asked surprised as she listened to Aether's story.
"Yes. We have visions, or well, everyone in our world has visions" Aether answered warmly, "Though, my little sister and I do not"
"Why is that?" the professor asked curiously as she reflected on her world and the power of crests.
"You just have to awaken to it" Lumine answered, "A person has to do something to awaken to a vision. This can be anything. From doing something you love to an event that is life changing"
Lumine smiled as she reflected at Kaeya's and Klee's personal experiences. Beresu could only nod her head as she wondered how the Twin Travelers could use visions then since neither of them have the item. It also made her wonder why the twins could use multiple elements as well.
"Would you like to hear more of the story?" Aether asked warmly as he sat with his legs crossed before the professor.
Although she would've been fine with leaving, Sothis was more curious to hear this story.
"Another world where the functions are similar and different from our own warrants further explanation if you ask me" Sothis said to Beresu in her mind, "Shall we inform those twins to continue the story?"
"I suppose so" Beresu answered Sothis and then turned her attention to the twins and Paimon, "So, what transpired after that?"
Aether answered warmly to continue the story, "So, as we were heading up the mountain, Albedo was already reaching his lab on Dragonspire"
Albedo hugged himself as he finally reached his lab on the mountain. He stared at the messy condition his lab was in and sighed as he took a step in. He glanced at the scattered papers holding notes and sketches, to then looking at cabinets holding potions and other important instruments, and finally, the empty table and chairs.
"Well, at least everything is in the same place as before" Albedo whispered to himself.
He then gazed out to the snowy weather blocking the view of Mondstadt. He hoped everyone will relax and take comfort knowing that he had ran away with the trouble. He checked the sides of his coat and found his visions still present.
"I may not understand the nature of this, but I will work to understand it" Albedo vowed as he placed a hand to his face and examined both visions, "Why was this given to me? Does that person from Inazuma know anything about this? I should depart to Inazuma as soon as I can to understand the truth behind this"
He went to pick up a document he was reading about a person having two visions, but the moment he picked it up, ice began to cover it! He dropped the document as it crashed on the ground!
"Well, that's unfortunate" Albedo said as he looked at his hands, "Perhaps I need to release the dormmate power with the vision"
He stepped outside of the lab and nodded to himself with this idea. He adjusted his gloves and took a step towards the top of the mountain.
"The snow glows white on the mountain tonight, not a footprint to be seen" Albedo sang softly as he looked back at his tracks to see it already covered by the freshly fallen snow.
"A kingdom of isolation, and it looks like I'm the king" he sang as he walked through the snow and noticed the sparkle each one reflected from the light.
He looked at his black gloves and shivered at the site of it. He felt his anxiety rise at the site of the gloves and slowly lowered his hands to his sides.
"The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside" he whispered in defeat as he held himself, "Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried"
He continued to walk forward and waved his hands as he made sure snow and ice didn't fall from it.
"Don't let them in, don't let them see. Be the good boy you always have to be" Albedo reminded himself as more ice and snow swirled from each step he took, "Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know"
He stopped walking as he raised right hand to glare at the black glove. He realized that he was all alone on the mountain and away from those who cared for and were afraid of him.
He chuckled, threw the glove in the air, and sang in a light, free tone, "Well, now they know!"
He threw his other glove to the ground as he finally let the ice and snow flow from his hands. He could only smile in relief as the snow and ice flowed freely.
"Let it go, let it go" Albedo said in relief at the site of the snow blowing freely from his hands, "Can't hold it back anymore!"
He waved his hands as snow swirled around himself while happily singing, "Let it go, let it go!"
Albedo then waved his hands back as he blew the snow and ice away, "Turn away and slam the door! I don't care what they're going to say. Let the storm rage on!"
He finally took a stop as he pulled off his coat to let it fly in the blowing wind while smirking, "The cold never bothered me anyway"
He continued to walk through the snow until he turned around to see his coat flying in the wind and towards Mondstadt.
"It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small" Albedo exclaimed with a laugh, "And the fears that once controlled me, can't get to me at all!"
He took off in a run as he reached a broken side of the mountain and grinned at his hands.
"It's time to see what I can do! To test the limits and break through!" Albedo expressed happily as he then waved his hands forward to create a bridge made of ice and snow.
He took a step on the newly created bridge as ice covered it. His expression was bright as his eyes shined with interest. His step created a new, stronger coat of ice over the bridge.
"No, right, no wrong, no rules for me" he said in a determined tone, "I'm free!"
He held his hands out and over the rails of the bridge to cover it in ice while singing, "Let it go, let it go! I am one with the wind and sky! Let it go, let it go!"
He reached the other side as he kicked his leg to kick away some of the remaining snow. He ran towards the side of the mountain.
"You'll never see me cry!" Albedo cheered loudly as he raised his foot and stomped on the ground to create a beautiful, white, and blue cryo symbol, "Here I stand and here I stay! Let the storm rage on!"
He raised both of his hands to create walls, two more layers, and staircases to other rooms in his new creation.
He drew his hand back and waved to the ground to the make the blue cryo symbol change to gray while singing, "My power flurries through the air into the ground!"
He then cast a wave of ice to the celling to make a beautiful, purple chandelier appear as his voice continued to raise in volume, "My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around! And one thought crystalizes like an icy blast!"
He stopped, panting, and grinning at the creation around himself. He gazed up to the crystal chandelier as he smiled at it.
He looked at his hands and grinned as he whispered, "I'm never going back, the past is in the past"
He marched forward and waved his hands to push the door open.
"Let it go, let it go! When I'll rise like the break of dawn!" Albedo declared as he marched to the icy, balcony, "Let it go, let it go. That perfect boy is gone!"
He stood at the balcony and raised his hand to create a powerful burst of snow as he finished singing, "Here I stand in the light of day. Let the storm rage on. The cold never bothered me anyway"
He turned away and slammed the doors behind him. He was exhausted, but he had never felt so free before. He was panting and sighing in relief at the site around himself. He was so surprised to see the beautiful, ice castle around himself.
"This is incredible" Albedo said in awe, "I had no idea that holding a second vision and using it could create such amazing creation"
He placed a hand on the icy floor which held an image of a snowflake. He grinned at it and then looked at his hands with a curious expression.
"Let's see what else I can do here" Albedo said determinedly as he prepared to create another creation made in ice.
