a/n added december 14, 2024– i
unpublished this one too because i was
unhappy with what id written so far. it
made me not lose interest, but feel like
i couldn't give this story the attention
and work it deserves. BUT after taking
a much needed break from online i'm
back and already republishing a lot of
my stories. this included. the approach
of season 2 of tlou has reignited my
inspiration to write for this. most
things will remain the same, just
grammar here and there, maybe
some phrasing, that'll change.

     JOCELYN ROGERS WAS ONLY 16 WHEN THE OUTBREAK HAPPENED. Now at 36, shes gotten pretty good at keeping her guard up. If you asked her, she'd tell you that Tess was pretty much her only friend. Frank and Bill too, (but don't tell Bill that). She wasn't nearly as close with Joel, but over the years he had slowly warmed up to her.

Life wasn't great, but she supposed it was better than the alternative.

It isn't until a certain chain of events that Jocelyn and Joel are forced together, and they realize they'll have to work closely with each other if they want to stay alive.

Old feelings, built up tension, and long hidden secrets are forced to light as they make their journey, and all they can do is hope they survive.
