58. The Golden Sakura
TAEHYUNG'S POV
"BROTHER!?" we all yelled as we stared at my mother with our mouths and eyes wide opened. No way! That psycho guy is mom's brother and he is my uncle. What the heck! Does that make me a psycho too?
"B-B-But...why would he—"
"I can't tell you the rest here," she sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose with her index finger and her thumb, "When we reach your grandfather's place, everything will be explained to you."
Everyone went back to their seats after my mom shooed us away. I looked outside the window and began to wonder about the reasons why my uncle would try to kidnap me. Suddenly I felt a hand on mine and looked to my side to see Jungkook giving me a smile.
"Don't worry now," he said and rubbed the back of my hand, "It will be fine." I sent him back a smile and placed my head on his shoulder.
"By the way, I just remembered something," Jungkook said and I closed my eyes, "Seven years back you said something to me, do you remember it?"
"I have said a lot of things to you back then." I heard him slap his forehead and sigh.
"I was talking about the time when you talked about a friend of yours who...uhmm, suicided. Who was that?" when he said that, my eyes flickered open. Oh...that story.
"Actually..." I sat up straight and stared at his confused face, "That was a lie."
"What?!" he gasped and I nodded.
"I couldn't tell you the truth because I still didn't completely trust you," I said and that led him to gasp even more, "So I told a part of the truth, but slightly twisted it. So I sort of lied, but I didn't lie."
He shut his gaping mouth and sighed, "I see. I am going to sleep. Wake me up when we land."
"Are you pissed?" I asked him as I laid my head down on his shoulder. He smiled and ran his hand through my hair.
"I am not pissed at you," he said and closed his eyes, "I mean, you didn't want to tell it, but I sort of forced you and...to be honest, I don't remember that story well."
"Then we can just forget it," I said and he nodded. I closed my eyes and snuggled against his shoulder. I inhaled the faint vanilla fragrance of his and I could feel it slowly lulling me to sleep.

"Wakey wakey!" My eyes flickered open and I saw Jungkook patting my cheek, "We came to Japan."
"REALLY?!" I bolted up from my seat and ran outside, forgetting about my suitcase on the plane. I jumped out and inhaled the cold evening's air of Japan.
"I. AM. IN. JAPAN!" I yelled and twirled around in excitement. Suddenly a bag came flying from nowhere and hit the back of my head. I winced at the hard collision and turned around to kill that person, but how could I do that when that person was my mother?
"COME AND GET YOUR BAG, YOU SHIT ASS KID!" she yelled and went back inside. I sighed and walked inside to retrieve my bags. But luckily, my sweet hubby got them all out for me. Wow! I have such a handsome and strong hubby!
"Thank you," I said and pecked his lips.
He chuckled and kissed my cheek, "Welcome, babes."
"Enough of your lovey-dovey," my mom came from behind and shoved us forward, "Get to the cars right now before I roast your balls."
Without waiting for another warning, we both ran away and made ourselves comfortable in the black, luxurious car. Was this also rented?
My parents and Jungkook's mom came in the same car as ours, while the rest of the gang were separated into two other cars. We drove around the beautiful magnificent city of Japan. I stuck my nose to the window and gaped at the skyscrapers and even screamed at the top of my voice when I saw a man cosplaying Tanjiro from Demon slayer. It took at least twenty minutes to calm myself down. It would have taken longer if my mom wasn't there.
After an hour or so, suddenly the windows turned black and the interior grew dark, "What is this?"
"Just some bullshit your grandfather likes to do," I heard my mother say and I inched closer to Jungkook who put an arm around my shoulder. Half an hour passed and we were finally out of the cars and into a...Ooolala...what is this?
"WOAH!" we all gaped at the surroundings. Where...were...we? Surrounding us were beautiful and colorful gardens of flowers and trees, including miniature trees that decorated the sides of the pavement we were currently standing on. Along with the gardens were dozens of Minka, Japanese traditional houses, which were lined up perfectly till a huge building which had the same structure as a Minka, but it was way huger than the rest. It was like a palace. Is this a hotel?
As we gaped at our surroundings, we were lead towards the huge building. When we climbed the stairs and reached the top, we were exhausted and collapsed to the ground. Couldn't they build a simple house which didn't have stairs or at least, couldn't they install a lift? We were dragged inside the place and my god was it amazing? It was! Unlike the cold air outside, the warm air greeted us to a golden and warm red setting.
I looked up and gasped at the ceiling which had the stunning art of a war which was painted in red, black and gold.
"TAEHYUNGIE!" I looked to the side and saw an old lady wearing a red and gold kimono with a cherry blossom tree pattern, running towards me. She looked old, but she looked young at the same time. She pulled me to a hug and literally squashed me.
"Oh my darling has grown so much!" she squealed with joy as she twirled me around. Even though she was a bit shorter than me, she was still strong.
"I missed you so much, obaasan (grandmother)" I squealed with joy. She laughed and pulled from the hug.
"My my my! You have grown so much," she said and kissed my forehead. I giggled, but suddenly stopped when I realized something.
"Obaasan, why are we in—"
"ERI!" my grandmother squealed and ran to my mom who punched her straight on her face. We all gasped as she fell back on the floor. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! Jimin and Hobi rushed towards her to help her up, but she got up and laughed as she wiped the blood which was dripping out of her nose with a small pink handkerchief.
"Wow! You have grown way stronger than me. But you still can't defeat your father, Eri," she laughed while my mom just rolled her eyes at her, "And you all must be my Taehyungie's friends, right?" She asked as she twirled around on her heel and stared at my friends who awkwardly nodded.
"And this is...?" she walked towards Jungkook and pulled him close to her face, "Is he your boyfriend?"
"Yes, obaasan! This is Jungkook," I said and she squealed with joy as she hugged him, tightly.
"Aiya!" we turned around and saw an old man making his way towards us with the Men in Black guys behind him. He was wearing a black and white montsuki, which had the symbol of a yin and yang covered with golden sakuras on his left and right chest. It wasn't a normal design, but it was a crest. A family crest? Why was he wearing that?
"Taiyo!" my grandmother left Jungkook and made her way towards the old man. He saw me and laughed loudly as he beckoned me to come towards him for a hug. I ran towards him and hugged him, "Taehyung! You have grown so much!"
We pulled back and he gazed at my face with a proud smile on his face, "Can't believe our grand son has grown so much. How long has it been since we met you?"
"I guess..." I began to count and suddenly gasped, "It has been at least ten years! Waah!"
"Aish! Don't worry," he clapped my back and I almost fell because of his immense strength, "Now that Akio is out of the picture, you can stay here for the rest of your life." Woah! Cool!
"No! He won't!" We looked behind and saw my mom glaring at my grandfather.
My grandfather let out a laugh and shook his head, "He will be staying here forever."
"I won't allow him to," she crossed her arms in front of her chest and made her way towards my grandfather who looked sort of pissed at her reply, "He will come back with me to Seoul. I am not going to let him stay here."
"He is my grandson, so he will stay here!" my grandfather growled and glared at her.
"He is my son, so he will stay in Seoul with me and Ji-Ho!" she snapped at him. Their glares looked like those lightning bolts which they show in dramas and anime. Seeing this in real life was even creepy, especially with that sort of dark aura surrounding them.
"ENOUGH YOU TWO!" Suddenly my grandmother came and whacked their heads. They winced at her hit and began to rub their sore heads, "My Taehyungie has come after ten years and this is how you celebrate his arrival?! I am ashamed at you both. Can't believe that one is my husband and the other is my daughter."
"But darling—OUCH!" he screamed when she dragged him by the ear towards two...thrones? Yeah, that's what I said. Thrones. Right on the other side of the room was a raised platform with two huge thrones resting on top of it. The seat of the throne was red while the entire throne shone gold with carvings of cherry blossom trees of pink and white. Okay, one thing was confirmed. This was not a hotel.
They sat down and gazed at us. My grandfather rubbed his red ear, the one which my grandmother had dragged him with. He cleared his throat and spoke in a loud voice, "Today we are going to celebrate the arrival of my grandson, Taehyung after I guess...uhmm...he hasn't even come here has he?"
"You haven't even come here?" Jimin asked me and I shook my head, "What the heck? Then how did you meet them?"
"I did go to Japan once, but then this wasn't the place I visited them. It was a normal house," I replied and immediately shut my mouth when I saw my grandmother staring at me.
"Ah yeah! We met him in our rented house," my grandfather said and nodded to himself, "Well since Taehyung is here now, I guess it is time for him to be crowned the next heir to the clan."
"What?" I gaped at them as they nodded. Next heir...to a clan? Like a pack? I am a wolf? Ooo...so am I the Alpha?! Or the Omega? But I want to be the Alpha. Heir means Alpha so that means—
"Like I said," my mom interrupted my thoughts and continued to speak, "he will not be the next heir. I have already told you that."
"Eri, that was your decision, not Taehyung's," my grandfather said and shook his head, "Taehyung hasn't made a choice yet. You made yours, but he hasn't."
"Choice? What choice?" I asked him as he grinned from ear to ear.
"To be the next heir to the Kim clan or also known as, The Golden Sakura Clan."
*******
JUNGKOOK'S POV
The Kim clan aka The Golden Sakura Clan? I remember my so-called father talk about it once. This clan was considered one of the most dangerous one, due to their powerful army and their long line of powerful generals who served in the imperial army for generations and generations.
Though they were the most feared and most powerful ones, they were also the most wanted ones by business people and by other clans and underground mafias. Either they were wanted for their money and business or worst, their death. I tried to learn more about them when I was a child, but then there were no news about them. They worked in the dark and no one had ever seen their faces, except for their close business partners or friends, if they had any.
"Heir to the clan? The heck is going on?" Hobi whispered to me and I shrugged my shoulders. I totally forgot about the gang. How come they haven't caused chaos yet?
"I thought we came here to eat," Jin whined beside me and sighed, "When are they going to serve the food instead of talking. I badly want to taste Japanese food." Hyung, do you even know what is going on here? This is a serious case!
"He said that Taehyung was the heir to the Golden Sakura Clan, right?" Namjoon asked me and I nodded, "Oh my gosh! I can't believe that our Taehyung is..."
"If the clan is golden, are the beds also golden?" Suga asked me and I rolled my eyes, "Wow! How wonderful would it be to sleep in a golden bed with a golden pillow and a golden quilt." The clan name is Golden, not the bed!
"Excuse me, can you please tell us where our rooms are?" Yoongi suddenly raised his hand and asked. That guy! Jimin luckily pulled his hand down and put a hand over his mouth. They hadn't heard him because the entire room was paying attention to Taehyung who looked so lost.
"I am the heir to a clan?" Taehyung asked the old man and he nodded. Taehyung's eyes grew wide open and his mouth was hanging.
"The Golden Sakura Clan is the most richest and the most powerful clan in the whole world," the old man proudly stated and got up from his throne, "Even the great underground kings bow down to us. That is how powerful we are. So, Taehyung, how do you feel about it?"
We all looked at Taehyung again who was biting his lower lip. This must be a pretty huge shock to him. I mean, he is even clenching his hands into fists.
"You are telling me that..." he spoke and looked up at his grandfather who was smirking at him, "You are telling me that...that...I HAD MONEY TO BUY ALL THE ANIME MERCHANDISE!?"
"WHAT?!"
"NANI?!" his grandparents yelled and they looked at Taehyung who was...angry?
"Do you know how much I had to suffer to buy a manga or even a small anime figure?" he growled and began to stomp around the room, "I had to study even though I didn't like to do it and it was all because of anime. I poured my blood, sweat and tears into earning money so that I can buy a life-size pillow of my favorite character. And now, I get to know that I am a heir to one of the richest clans in the world. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER?!"
We all stared at the fuming Taehyung who was glaring at his grandparents while his mom was gaping at him and his dad...where did he go?
"Wow! Taehyung is really a special one," I heard my mom snicker behind me as she placed an arm on my shoulder, "Boy, I still don't know whether he likes you more or anime."
"Don't ask me about that," I said and sighed, "Even I don't know what goes on in his head. Like right now, I had no clue he would react like that."
"Me too."
"Can I say something?" we all turned towards Jimin who had raised his hand.
"Uhmm...okay?" the old man nodded.
"Can you tell us the reason why Akio kidnapped him even though he is Taehyung's uncle?" Jimin asked him and we all whipped our heads towards the elders who looked worried when Jimin asked them that.
"Uhmm...actually—"
"It was because..." the old lady suddenly spoke up and placed a hand over the throne's arm, "Akio wanted the title of the heir, but his grandfather, i.e., Taehyung's great-grandfather refused it and called him ignorant and selfish which drove Akio mad and he did lots of things to get the title."
"Lots of things? Like?" I asked her as she looked straight ahead of her.
"He would abolish all our enemies and would even work harder than the rest of my children. But even after trying so much, his grandfather didn't allow him. Actually, the original title of the heir wasn't supposed to be passed on to Taehyung. We had already decided the heir and it was my youngest son, Eiko."
"Eiko? So why are you giving it to Taehyung?" I asked her and I heard my mother sigh beside me.
"Eiko no longer lives," the old lady said and I heard someone sob, "Akio killed him."
"What?"
"Yes," she sighed and slowly walked down the stairs of the platform, "When Akio learnt that Eiko was the next heir, he killed him. But Akio had no clue that Eiko had already made love with a woman he was supposed to marry later. We protected his secret from Akio and from everyone. She soon gave birth, but she died in that process due to excess loss of blood. Even her child died due to stillbirth.
"The only one who could take the position of the heir was Taehyung's mother, my middle child, Eri," she waved towards Taehyung's mother who was sobbing into her husband's chest. Huh? Didn't he just disappear a while back? "But then, Eri had already married to Ji-Ho and was pregnant too. We thought he might kill her, so we protected her with all our power. But it turns out, he wasn't after her. He was after Taehyung."
"But why Taehyung?"
"When Taehyung was born, his great-grandfather passed away. Akio was mad that time. So when he learnt about that, he believed that his great-grandfather was probably reborn as Taehyung. That's why Akio took him away so that he can torture him slowly and make him suffer."
"That psycho bastard!" I cursed under my breath while my mother patted my head to calm me down.
"And now, it is up to Taehyung to decide whether he is going to take over the title or not." We looked at Taehyung who was staring at his shoes, "But then, he has no option. He has to become the heir because, he is the last of the clan."

Wow! Pretty shocked, huh?!! Hehehe... And also, the picture above (the one in the starting; the yin and yang with golden sakura), it holds a meaning...so what do you think it means??? The answer will be revealed in the next chapter. What do you think Tae will do? Will he accept or will he decline the title?
