32. Bridal Style

Somewhere in New York~

Jeon Sung-ho was seated on his chair and was fiddling with the fountain pen in his hand. He stared at the phone, waiting for it to ring. He was getting impatient as he waited for the person to call him.

Two hours passed and the call didn't come. His impatience turned into rage and he was drumming his nails onto the smooth, polished wood of his desk. He looked outside and saw the bright sun was slowly setting down. It was evening already and the call hadn't come yet.

Something was wrong.

He picked up his phone and scrolled through his contacts. He found the name and pressed the call button. The phone rang and rang for several minutes before the operator said that the phone number he was calling was currently switched off. He didn't want to leave a voicemail and he banged the phone on his table, resulting in a tiny crack from the corner of the phone.

"Why is she not answering?" he asked to himself and tapped his chin with his finger, "Did she forget?"

Something was wrong. He could feel it. Leishi was someone who would always have her phone by her side and would never switch it off. But today, it was different. She hadn't called him at all.

Suddenly the door to his office opened and walked in a tall man, his assistant.

"When am I free?" he asked his assistant who looked through his tab, checking his schedules.

"You will be free after a month," he said and Sung-ho groaned in anger. A month? That was too much for him. He needed to go back to Seoul immediately.

"Wait. Do I have any meetings to attend in Seoul?" he asked. His assistant once again looked at his schedule and nodded.

"There is one meeting with the L company. It's in two weeks." The news brought delight to Sung-ho whose frowning face had changed into a wicked smile.

"Very well then. You may go now," he waved his hand and the assistant bowed before leaving the place. Jeon Sung-ho got up and walked to the window, staring at the orange sky outside.

He wasn't going there only for the meeting. He was going to get Jungkook back to America.

*******

TAEHYUNG'S POV

"JUNGKOOK, DARLING!" I was suddenly pushed away and fell on the floor. I almost banged my head to the coffee table which was right behind me. I groaned and looked up to see Jungkook getting smothered on his face with kisses from that devil woman.

"OH MY GOD! YOU HAVE GROWN SO MUCH!" my mother squealed with delight and squished his face with both of her hands, "Even though you look like an adult, you are still a baby boy."

I sighed and got up to join my dad who was just sitting on the sofa and watching Jungkook suffer under my mother's affection.

"When did you guys get here?" I asked him.

"An hour back. Our timing was really bad," he sighed and nodded his head towards Jimin's room, "Your mom just walked into the house and into Jimin's room to ask where you were. Poor Jimin and his boyfriend were literally embarrassed when they saw your mother staring at them."

"I see," I nodded and looked back at my mom hugging Jungkook or almost crushing him. Didn't she see him like a month ago? And yet she acts like she hasn't seen him for four hundred years.

Jungkook looked at me with those doe eyes, begging me to help him. Help him? Why should I? It was his fault for being a good boy and getting amazing marks and being really handsome. I just looked away and stared at the beautiful blue wall and admired it.

"Jungkook, you must come to our place for dinner," my mom suddenly said and I whipped my head towards her, "It has been really long since you have come to our place, right?"

Jungkook looked at me and I shook my head. No way are we both going to their house together. But that cheeky ass Jungkook just smirked at me and nodded, "I will be delighted to have dinner with all of you."

"What a sweet boy! Do you want to come with us now or maybe you want to come later?" she asked him and I was violently shaking my head from side to side. He saw me but then told another answer, "How about now? I don't have anything to do right now, so I can—"

"Wonderful!" she clapped her hands together while I face-palmed myself, "Let's get going!"

She dragged my dad from the sofa and walked out of my house. When they left, I glared at him while he simply laughed.

"Why did you even accept it?" I asked him and he just shrugged.

"Let's go now," he laughed and pulled me along with me. Great! Now my parents are going to totally humiliate me.

However when we reached the place, my parents went off to the kitchen to cook and asked us to just sit and wait. Why did we come so early? I could have watched two episodes in peace. I sat beside Jungkook on the sofa and watched a K-drama along with him.

I wonder how my room looks like. I got up to head upstairs, but a hand around my wrist stopped me, "Where are you going?"

"To my room," I said to Jungkook and when he heard that, he got up and switched off the TV, "Oy! Why did you switch it off?"

"I thought we were going to your room?" he said and I yanked my hand away from him.

"I said that I will be going to my room and you can stay here and watch that drama." But that stubborn guy just smirked and walked upstairs. That idiot! I sighed and followed him to my room.

We reached the door and Jungkook moved aside to let me in. I remembered the time when my mom broke the door. Oh dear! That was a painful moment. I couldn't watch anime for two whole months and finally, without them knowing, I called in the carpenter and made him fix my door. Of course I did get scolding for not asking them, but I didn't want anyone to peek at me when I am enjoying a little private time. When I say private time, I didn't mean mastering the bait or something like that. It means, I can peacefully watch anime without anyone bothering me.

I pushed the door handle down and slowly opened the door. The creaking noise of the door creeped me out and I hear Jungkook sigh behind me.

"Why are you opening it so slowly? That creaking noise is annoying me," he complained and I rolled my eyes. The door opened to a utterly dark room. I mean, it was completely black. I walked in and tried to find the switches. When I found them, I flipped them on and the lights brightened the room.

It was the same. Everything looked the same except for the curtains which were drawn to hide the light.

"Wow!" Jungkook gaped at the place in awe. Hasn't he been here before? Hell, yeah! He even kissed me over here. Gross kid! "It's the same."

"Why are you so surprised about that?" I asked him, but he didn't respond. I shook my head and walked to my stuffed tiger. I smiled and patted its fluffy head. I missed it so much.

"Hey look," I turned behind and saw Jungkook holding a book in his hand, "Your math textbook."

"That thing still exists?" I asked and walked towards him. He held it out to me and I creeped out from the sight of it. I thought I threw it right after I graduated from school. How did it get here?

"Throw it away. I don't want to see it again," I walked away from him and sat down on the bed. Everything was the same, but then it was a little bit dusty. Maybe I should clean it one day when I don't have any work.

"Your room brings back so many memories," Jungkook mumbled and I looked around. Memories? The only ones I remember is the project which we did, the kiss and...the time when we slept together.

"I guess so," I said and looked down at the floor. Memories did come back to me, but not only the good ones, even the bad ones.

"Did you know the time when your mother karate chopped me?" Jungkook said and I laughed when I remembered it. Of course! That was hilarious!

"My mom literally ran around the house, crying and wailing that she killed an amazing guy like you. Luckily you woke up or else she would have handed herself over to the police," I said and he laughed. Wish I could tell him about the time when my mother broke the door, but I guess it will just bring back the memories which we hate. So, I am just going to keep my mouth shut.

"JUNGKOOK! DINNER IS READY!" my mom yelled from downstairs.

"Let's go down," Jungkook said and walked towards the door, but stopped when he saw me still sitting on the bed, "She called us down."

"She called you down," I said and he slapped his forehead.

"She indirectly called both of us down," he replied and I shook my head.

"She only called you. Maybe she will call me later." I could see he was getting annoyed about us arguing about who she called. It was nice annoying him. I thought he was going to ditch me and go down for dinner, but what he did next was totally unexpected.

He walked up to me and smoothly picked me up in arms. His one arm under my legs and the other supporting my back. Why was he picking up in...BRIDAL STYLE!?

"Oy! Let me down, you asshole!" I yelled and hit his chest, but he didn't say anything and carried me all the way down. I was yelling and kicking in the air, hoping he would let me go, but no, he didn't.

"WHAT IS WITH ALL THE YELL—WOAH!" my mom shouted and then stopped when she saw me in Jungkook's arm.

"Save me!" I cried out to my mom who just gaped at us.

"Jungkook...you are really strong!" my mom ran inside a room and immediately brought out a camera. Camera?! What is she...? Without a warning, she clicked a picture of us and ran to show it to my dad.

"Let me go now!" I yelled and thrashed around. He finally let me down carefully and I ran away from him. That guy! Why did he even pick me up like that? I reached the kitchen and saw my parents giggling over the picture my mom took.

I groaned and sat down in my seat in front of the table. Why the heck did he pick me up instead of just leaving me and going down? I turned to my side and saw him sitting right next to me.

"Annoying!" I snarled at him and I looked in front.

"You did like it, didn't you?" he teased me and I just ignored him. Suddenly he leaned closer to my ears and whispered, "How about I carry you like that everyday to the office?"

"Die!" I said and pushed him away from me. He laughed while I scowled at him. If he keeps carrying me like that then...then, my heart won't be able to handle it all.
