End Note
Well, hello there. Boy has it been a bit of a long journey. Recently, I went into the first doc I made for this story. When this story was first an idea, it was meant to be written in third person and from the perspective of three different guys. My vision of this story has changed so many times from when I first started and below, I'm going to share everything with you guys.
Started: November 26th, 2017
I hadn't even realized I started the story three fucking years ago. That's so crazy. I remember when it was just an idea, a title, a blurb. Before it was one of three stories, it was called Men and Women. Why? No idea. It was meant to be a story of three guys finding love, all of whom are different from each other.
Sutton was also previously Oliver. Why the sudden name change, no idea. I think I liked that Sutton is a unisex name which I have personally seen mainly with women. I wanted to give him this name because to me it's delicate and once he had it, it was him. Chandler was always chandler, Chance was always chance. For the most part, nothing really changed. But one thing is Seren. Past her stage name, I didn't have one for her until I went searching for literal hours.
Completed: October 14th, 2020
For a bit of time, I toyed with the idea of actually making Sutton a female. I just really love lesbian love and I've been wanting to write a lesbian story for a while. But, alas, that didn't go. I couldn't change my baby, you know?
Why did I make Sutton the way he is? Simple. I want to do a role reversal. Everywhere, we always see males who are uber confident and masculine, possessive, maybe even super trashy. A lot of times, the women are damsels, which there's nothing wrong with that, but not every woman needs saving. A lot of people don't know that guys can be soft too or what society calls feminine and womanly. That's not it. He's just shy and things from his past have screwed with him.
I made Seren really confident because she's the woman I wish to be, honestly. I'm obsessed with stripping, but that's because it's been a dream of mine to become an exotic dancer. Not in this lifetime though. Anyways, I also wanted Seren to be that bad ass bitch who doesn't take shit because I know so many other women like that.
Is there a lesson? I think so. Honestly, I think Seren and other people taught Sutton to really come out of his shell. Before, he was a boy who wasn't even able to properly speak to people. He was alone in a city he couldn't navigate. Meeting Seren just brought out so much confidence in him and we can really see at the end of the story.
Lesson? Who cares what people think about you? Whether you're shy, confident, monotone. As long as you aren't hurting others, then be happy with yourself. People only bully others because they're psychos, they have internal things going on, or they're getting bullied themselves. But they need to overcompensate for something they lack.
In the end, Sutton just learned to live and that's all that matters.
Gosh, I sincerely hope you guys enjoyed To Love Irrevocably. It's the first of three books that don't really relate to each other other than the characters finding love. With that being said, thank you so much for reading and I hope you consider taking the time to visit some of my other works or maybe giving me a follow.
