Chapter 2: The Inventor
The picture above is called a beaded snood.
You wake up the next morning to the blinding morning sun. You squint your (E/C) orbs and you look around your bedroom. Next to your bed was Lucia's. But she was no where in sight. You shrug, and get out of bed. You put on a (2nd F/C) dress. You then step into your (F/C) shoes and you go and brush out your hair. You then put on your black beaded snood. Some locks of your hair still hung down from the sides of your face.
You head down stairs and you see your mother and father sitting at the dinner table eating their breakfest. You smile and you kiss the top of your father's head, "Buongiorno (Good morning) papa, mama," your father looks up at you.
"Buongiorno, sweetheart," your father greets you. You smile and you sit at the table. You mother looks at you as a servant bringd you your breakfest.
"(F/N)...is your sister getting up?" your mother asks you. You look at her and shrug.
"She wasn't in our room when I woke up," you tell her, "she could have gotten up early and took a morning walk," you lie. You knew she was still with Vieri. Hopefully she didn't do something stupid. Your mother sighs.
"Maybe," she says. You take a bite of your eggs then your sausage. Your mother looks at you again, "Did you finish that book Signore da'Vinci loaned you?" you nod your head.
"Si, I couldn't put it down," you tell her, "His book on the Romans was very interesting, I learned so much!" your mother smiles.
"Questo va molto bene (That is very good)," your mother says, "I want you to have a good education, a chance I never got to have,"
"Leonardo da'Vinci is a brilliant man! He has showed me some of his blueprints for his future inventions, his paintings, and even his scientific experiments," you say with a smile. Your father chuckles and pops a grape in his mouth.
"Well, you are going to have to return that book to him," your father tells you. You nod your head.
"I know, I was going to do that today," you tell him. Your father nods his head, "I can do it after breakfest," you tell him.
"Ehi! On your way to Signore da'Vinci's workship, if you see Lucia, tell her to come home," he tells you. You smile and nod. You finish your breakfest and excuse yourself from the table.
You grab the book that Leonardo loaned you and you walk out of your family villa. You walk down the streets of Firenze with the book in hand. You walk down the cobble streets. After about ten minutes of walking you find Leonardo's workshop. You smile and you knock on the door.
A lock of your (H/C) hair got in your face and you push it behind your ear. You hear footsteps coming closer to the front door. The door opens and Leonardo smiles at you.
"Ah! Signorina (L/N)!" Leonardo greets you. He kisses both of your cheeks, "come in, come in," he tells you. You smile more and enter his workshop, "So what brings you hear today?" you hold out the book you are returning to him.
"I am here to return your book," you tell him. Leonardo smiles and takes the book and turns to put it back on his bookshelf.
"Done already?" he asks, "I loaned you that book about 4, 5 days ago," he says with astonishment. Your smile widens and blush slightly.
"I couldn't put it down," you tell him, "it was too fascinating," Leonardo smiles at you again.
"Well...I am truly glad you liked it," he tells you. You loved to read about history, it was just so fascinating to you.
"I truly did," you say. Then a knock was heared at the door. Leonardo opens it and you follow him to the door. He opens it and the first person you see is no other than Ezio, and he was with a older woman. She smiles slightly at Leonardo.
"Hello Leonardo," she says. Leonardo smiles when he sees her.
"Madonna Maria!" Leonardo says happily. He kisses both of her cheeks. You notice Ezio looking at you. You smile at him slightly. You defiantly wouldn't be keeping your promise about staying away from Ezio. Lucia had no control over your life. If he was going to leave you, you bet you could find some ways to keep his interests on you.
Leonardo looks at you, "Let me introduce you to (F/N) (L/N), she is a very good friend of mine and has a very expendable mind when it comes to history," you smile at him. The woman, Maria smiles at you. She sort of looked like Ezio. Maybe she was his mother.
"Very nice to meet you, (F/N)," Maria says to you. You smile at her. Maria then looks at you both, "This is my son, Ezio," Maria tells us. Leonardo bows.
"Molto onorato (It's a pleasure to meet you)," Leonardo speaks in italian.
"L'onore è mio (The honor is mine)," Ezio tells him in italian. Leonardo looks at Maria.
"Let me go and fetch the paintings. I'll be right back," Leonardo tells Maria and he goes to fetch their paintings. Maria looks at Ezio.
"He's very talented," Maria tells him.
"Immagino (I guess)," Ezio shrugs.
"Self expression is vital to understanding and enjoying life," she tells him, "You should find an outlet," Ezio rolls his eyes.
"I have plenty of outlets," Ezio tells her. Maria rolls her eyes.
"I meant beside vaginas," she tells him which made you chuckle slightly. Ezio's eyes widen in embarrassment.
"Mother!" Ezio says with some annoyance. Maria then turns to you.
"So are you Leonardo's lover?" your eyes widen and you shake your head.
"No, no!" you tell her, "I have to admit, he is handsome, indeed but he is like a brother to me," Maria chuckles.
"Indeed," she says. Then Leonardo comes out with a crate with some painting in it.
"Back to your house then?" Leonardo asks Maria.
"Si, si," Maria tells him. Maria walks next to Leonardo, then she looks at Ezio, "Ezio, help Leonardo, will you?"
"Si madre," he says and he picks up the crate with the paintings. In the distance you see your sister coming towards you. She looked angry. She motions for you to come to a secluded place. You sigh and follow her
"You!" she yells at you, "What did you tell them?!" she continues to yell. You roll your eyes.
"What have I done this time?" you ask, clearly not the slightest bit interested. She grabs your wrist.
"You know exactly what it is you did!" she yells, "You told mother and father, didn't you!"
"No! I didn't!" you got what she met, "All I said was you may have went out for a morning walk!" she makes a dry laugh.
"Ha! Funny! I never do that you grullo!" Lucia hisses at you, "They found out about Vieri and I!"
"A friend of our family probably saw you two and told mama and papa!" you yell back, "Did you think about that?! I did not tell!"
"Well...now mother and father say that I am now forbidden to see him," she starts sob, "I loved him! Now I can't ever lay my eyes on him again!" you take pitty on her.
"I am sorry Lucia," you say. She glares at you slightly.
"I don't want your pitty!" she yells at you once again. After a few moments she regains her composer, "I will find a way to see him again," she says calmly and she leaves you. You sigh and you pinch the bridge of your nose.
"Well...I could have had a conversation with Ezio, but nooo I had to suffer an argument with my cagna (bitch) of a sister," you talk to yourself. You decided to go back home since you knew Leonardo, Ezio, and Maria were no longer at the workshop.
Later that day you find out that some of the Auditore family were arrested for treason......that couldn't be true, could it?
