Chapter 1: Boys Will Be Boys

December 27, 1476

You look out your balcony window and you gaze at the beautiful city of Firenze. Your (F/C) blows slightly in the breeze. Your (F/C) dress clings to your body. You look at all the people walking along the bridge. They were laughing and smiling, some were children that were kicking a ball around. You smile and lean your head against a wall and make a content sigh.

Then you see a large group of men at one end of the bridge. A man in a silly looking hat stood in front of them, probably their leader. You recognized the man as Vieri de'Pazzi. Your sister was infatuated with him, you on the other hand thought that he was the creepiest man you ever met. Your sister would get weak on her knees if she seen him. You didn't understand why she liked him so much.

Your older sister, Lucia, then stood next to you. You look up at her and you look back at the group of men. Lucia sees Vieri and she puts her hand over her heart. You could tell her heart was skipping a beat. You mentally roll your eyes at the sight.

"Ah Vieri," Lucia makes a content sigh. She was 16 and yet to be married. You were surprised that your father hadn't found a proper husband for her yet. She was as beautiful as the Roman Goddess, Venus.

"So....has Vieri proposed to you yet?" you ask. Not even looking at her. She sighs and leans on the edge of the balcony.

"No, not yet," Lucia tells you. She stairs at her lover, "Can I trust you in something very important?" she asks you. You finally look up at her.

"Of course!" you tell her, "You can trust me, sister," she smiles and holds your hand.

"Tonight, I will be sneaking out to meet him at the town square," she tells me. Before she could say anything else, you speak for her.

"And let me guess, you need me to cover your tracks?" you ask her, "Just in case mama and papa ask where you have gone to? Don't worry, I won't snitch," Lucia smiles at you.

Then you look back at the bridge and you notice another group of men on the opposite side of the bridge, "Oh no, Vieri has gotten himself into another fight," Lucia says. You scoff and roll your eyes.

"Figures," you mumble. Lucia shoots me a look. Then she looks back at the now empty bridge between the two groups of men. Then a rather handsome man with dark brown hair that was tied into a ponytail with a red ribbon stand before his men. He looked like a nobleman with his attire. A wite tunic, a black waist coat, black tight leather pants and black boots. You let out a breath at the sight of him.

"Who is he, Lucia?" you ask as you point to the mystery man. Lucia looks at the man and sighs.
"That, mi cara (my dear), is Ezio Auditore da Firenze," she tells you, "he has a reputation to be a womanizer. He and his brother, Federico, visit the local brothels often. I am surprised they haven't gotten a disease," Lucia chuckles out.

"He is handsome though," you say as you continue to look at the man called Ezio. Lucia sighs and places a hand on your shoulder. You look up at her.

"Stay away from the Auditore boy," she tells you, "he will only hurt you like he has done to countless women. He is no good for you," she tells you. She then twirles a lock of your (H/C) hair around her index finger, "Besides, you could do much better than an Auditore," you smile slightly and then you look back at the two groups of me. But your eyes fell on Ezio.

He looks at his men and smiles. He shoots his arm up, "Insieme per la vittoria! (We stand together).

"Insieme! (Together!)" his men shout in excitement. Ezio smirks and calms his men.

"Silenzio (Silence), my friends, silenzio," Ezio says and his men calm down, "Grazie," Ezio then slowly paces back and forth in front of his men, "Do you know whst brings us here tonight? Honor! Vieri de'Pazzi slanders my family's name and forces his own miseries upon us. If w-" the a rock is thrown at Ezio, but misses him. Ezio turns around and glares at Vieri. Vieri then speeks up.

"Enough of your nonsense, grullo! (Idiot!)" Vieri shouts. Ezio then smirks.

"Buona sera, Vieri! We were just talking about you," Ezio says sarcastically, "I'm surprised to se you here. I thought the Pazzi hired others to do their dirty work," you chuckle slightly. Lucia jabs your arm as a scolding. You rub your arm as it hurt.

"It's your family that cries for help when there's trouble codardo (coward). Afraid to handle things yourself?" Vieri taunts.

"Your sister seemed quite satisfied with the handling I gave her earlier," Ezio taunts and his men chuckle. I try not to laugh at he vulgar statement. Vieri glares at Ezio with anger in his eyes. He grabs another rock.

"Uccidilo! (Kill him!)" Vieri shouts at him men and he throws the rock at Ezio. The rock hits Ezio on the right side of his face. It left a large scratch across his lips.

Ezio was stunned for a moment as he puts his hand to his lips. He then starts to fight Vieri's men, along with his men. Ezio seemed like a very good fighter. He took down Vieri's rather quickly.

Then as Ezio grabbed another man, another man came up behind Ezio. He was just as handsome as Ezio. They sort of lookef alike.

"Lucia, who is that?" I ask her as I point to the other man. Lucia looks at him.

"Well...that is Federico Auditore, Ezio's older brother," Lucia tells me. I nod my head.

"Oh," I say and I continue to watchh the fight.

"Ehi! (Hey!) Behind you!" Federico says. Ezio looks at him surprised. Ezio dropped the man he was grabbing onto and stops fighting for a moment.

"Federico? What are you doing here?!" Ezio asks him. One of Vieri's men ran after Federico but Federico pushed him to the ground.

"I wanted to see if my baby brother finally learned how to fight," Federico teases Ezio. Another man grabs Ezio but he pushes him to the ground.

"And?" Ezio asks. Federico chuckles.

"You have style, but endurance is what counts. Let's see how many of them you can ruin before they get the best of you," Federico tell him and more of Vieri's men join the fight. Ezio and Federico then fight off all of the men. Vieri's eyes widen.

"Fall back! Fall back!" Vieri tells his men to run and Vieri runs like his like depended on it. Ha! And he called Ezio a coward. Lucia sighs and shakes her head.

"Well that was disappointing," Lucia sighs out. You roll your eyes.

"I thought it was exciting," you tell her. She rolls her eyes and she moves away from the balcony. You look back down at the balcony and you notice Ezio and Federico about to leave. You look down at the men.

Ezio then notices you, he smiles and he gives you a wink, "Buona sera, bellissima (Good evening, beautiful)," he says to you. Your heart skips a beat.

"Buona sera signore," you say to him. Ezio waves you goodbye. You smile and wave back. You then walk away from the balcony and lay down on your bed. You smile happily.

"He noticed me, Lucia," you tell your sister. She looks at you as she brushes her hair.

"Who did?" she asks. You giggle and roll on your side, still facing her.

"Ezio," you say. Lucia makes a frustrated sigh. She slams her brush on the table.

"Stay away from him!" she tells me, "he is no good for you! Do you understand me?!" she yells at you.

"But he seemed nice," you tell her. She rolls her eyes.

"Please! Men like him just be nice to girls to just convince them to satisfy their needs," she tells you, "Just...stay away from him,"

You nod your head in sadness, "Alright," you mumble. Lucia nods her head in approvment, "But how do you know if Vieri is doing the same with you?" she rolls her eyes.

"He hasn't left me yet," she tells him, "Plus, I am making him wait until we are wedded," you nod your head.

"But he maybe seeing other women, to satisfy himself if you are making him wait," you tell her. She glares at you.

"You don't know anything about him!" she yells at you. She then climbs out of the balcony and runs down the streets of Firenze.

You sigh and you dress for bed and go to sleep for another day.
