You see that girl over there? The one with sandy windswept locks, smiling whilst showing off her perfect teeth? That's Persephone Rosier.

Persephone Rosier (or Percy as we called her) was the new girl at hogwarts, before then her parents home-taught her. They taught Persephone "untraditional" skills to summarize. They taught her to whisper sweet nothings to sharks, to french braid her hair, to create flower crowns (in addition to flower terminology as well) and allowed Persephone to watch muggle cartoons as much as she pleased (iconically scooby doo was her favorite).

( CUT TO ELEVEN YEAR OLD PERSEPHONE CROCHETTING A DAISY AS SHE OCCASIONALLY GLANCED UP AT THE SMALL TELEVISION SET IN HER BEDROOM )

Percy, strangely enough, was nothing short of your typical muggle girl despite coming from a powerful pureblood family. I guess that's part of the reason why we all liked her so much. Especially James whose loving stares and longing sighs caught us all by surprise.

( CAMERA PANS OVER TO JAMES POTTER LEANING HIS HEAD ON HIS HANDS DURING POTIONS CLASS STARING LOVINGLY AT PERSEPHONE CREATE SMALL BRAIDS IN HER HAIR )

But alas nothing of their realtion grew as James remained yet another Persephone admirer from afar, that was until Peter's parents invited us all to spend our summer holiday with them down at their summer home.

And awaiting there like a sea siren at sea was Percy, of course her holiday home was ironically the Pettigrew's neighboring home. James nearly collapsed the morning he took a walk on the beach with flimsy pj pants and messy hair just to bump into a goddess-like woman that Persephone is.

So naturally, James being the troublemaker he is, devised the ultimate plan to get Persephone to fall for him this summer, while unfortunately dragging in Lily Evans and Marlene Mckinnon against the girls' will (but then again it is James so what did they expect).

This leads us to today, June 22nd, which marks the first phase of James' five phase plan.

"James I don't recall agreeing to these terms.." Remus begins after James reads off the final phase of his grand plan.

"Oh but you very much did Moonie, so you see unbeknownst to you, while you were in a deep slumber, I forged your signature onto the back of my plan, meaning I have your consent to the following terms!" James explains in a formal tone cutting off Remus and mocking his classy speaking mannerisms.

"You do know that is not at all how consent works right?" Peter rebuttals laughing, to which James shoots him a playful glare.

Remus rolls his eyes while smiling and Sirius decides to join the conversation saying, "Well I for one agree completely with you James, I think the plan is brilliant mate."

"Why thank you kind sir, it seems you are much more tolerable than your sexual partner." James replies in his most formal tone while bowing dramatically at Sirius.

Remus then gagged dramatically at his word choice and said, "Sexual partner? James don't be crude."

"Would 'occasional shagging buddy' be more efficient my kind sir?" James smirked.

Remus then proceeded to throw his book at James' forehead.

The boys' room bursted into loud laughs as James dramtically fell back and shouted profanities.

"James, be for real for a minute, do you seriously think your plan is going to work on the Rosier girl?" Peter asked after James lifted his body off the floor.

"Well I mean sure, it seems pretty realistic to me." James shrugged while smirking to Sirius who condoned all his schemes.

"Hm interesting, because as I can remember the closest interaction you had with her was bumping into her on the beach a week ago, which you then started stuttering like a buffoon to her which made her walk away." Peter smirked while high-fiving Remus proudly.

"Alright haters, you just don't understand that I am playing the long-run with Rosier, she gets my game." James replied while he went to high-five Sirius, which he then proceeded to miss completely.

"The only thing she 'gets' is that you probably have a brain deficiency, which I guess isn't too far off." Remus quipped back.

"Okay you know what, I'm going to her place right now and I'm going to ask her out on a date to the bonfire tonight!" James declared triumphantly, pointing his finger to the ceiling while his head was held high.

Remus, Sirius, and Peter shared a look with each other before bursting out into a deep boyish laughter. To which James groaned at and fell on his back with a loud sigh.

"Yeah right mate, maybe try being around her for more than 10 seconds while acting like a person." Sirius grinned, patting his friend's shoulder.

Just then Lily Evans and Marlene Mckinnon bursted into the boys' room and crossed their arms expectantly. When the boys gave them a confused look Lily sighed and spoke up.

"Alright c'mon riff-raff, you all promised to treat me and Marls to some sundaes if we would read some dumb paper Potter made."

And so, the group all nodded to eachother and followed the girls out the door. While they walked along the beach to the ice cream parlor Lily decided to spark a conversation with Remus.

"So what stupid plan did Potter construct this time?"

"He's fallen hard for Rosier, the new girl." Remus told her.

"Oh you mean Persephone? She's in my herbology class, sweet girl to be honest. He isn't planning on hexxing her as a twisted type of flirting is he?"

Remus laughed at that comment and said, "thankfully no. He wants you and Marlene to befriend her so he can get closer to her."

"Hmm, me and her are on friendly terms already so I don't mind, and I'm positive Marls wouldn't mind either. Just to be clear though, I'm doing this for myself not for Potter."

"I hear you loud and clear Evans. I'm sure James will be overly ecstatic to hear that you actually agreed to help out with his scheme though."

"Ugh I know, he's going to get all giddy and jumpy." Lily shivered and stuck out her tounge in disgust, Remus laughed and shook his head at her antics.

When the group finally reached the ice cream parlor, James went ahead to open the door in a grand gesture for the girls and bowed smiling widely.

The girls rolled their eyes and waltzed in, coming to an abrupt stop when they realized the girl who was working at the cashier register.

"Oh this is just rich!" Marlene snickered under her breath to Lily.

Lily giggled at Marlene and nodded her head in agreement.

"What are you lot waiting for? You wanted sundaes so just order-" James began loudly before quieting down while his mouth hung open and eyes widened.

Sat at the register was Persephone Rosier, who currently was creating two separate flower crowns for an elderly couple that sat at the booth near her. Persephone glanced over at them occasionally and smiled softly, spending her time with mundane acts entertained her much more than "boring" tasks like her new summer job.

Marlene let out a loud "ahem" when she noticed Persephone deep in concentration on her flower crowns, to this Persephone looked up embarrassed.

Persephone proceeded to mumble out a series of apologies as she slid the flower crowns under her desk and got out her notepad to write down their order.

"Sorry about that, what can I get you today?" She asked, still flustered.

"Hey Persephone, can we just get a classic sundae? With extra cherries though." Lily butted in swiftly before Marlene could speak, Lily knew that Marlene had an intimidating aura and Persephone was naturally on the shyer side.

"Alright that'll be 2 galleons" Persephone told her with a small smile.

"2 galleons?!" Sirius yelled, leaving James' scared grasp as Sirius had allowed him to hide behind him throughout the whole interaction.

"I um-" Persephone stuttered, taken aback by his abrasive tone.

"Ignore him." Lily waved, assuring the girl with an awkward smile as she automatically felt embarrassed because of the boys' loud ramblings behind her.

"Yeah this is a daily thing with that one, he's a nut." Marlene added bluntly with a bored expression, just wanting her sundae already.

"You're the nut Mckinnon!" Sirius managed to yelp out, as he tried to break free of Remus' hold on him.

"What did you just call me you overgrown puppy.." Marlene grumbled at the boy, Lily huffed annoyed and rolled her eyes.

"Can you two please not start another debate in public? We do not want a repeat of the year 2 'breakfast breakdown' fiasco." Lily spoke sternly to the two while crossing her arms.

Marlene and Sirius stuck their tounges out at each other like children and agreed to Lily, mumbling out 'fine' to please her.

While this all went down however, Persephone caught the eye of James, who clutched onto Sirius' arms alongside Remus to keep him from escaping. James smiled faintly at her and nodded his head trying to maintain a 'cool boy' exterior. Even while he felt his heart physically beat outside his chest and his palms begin to become sweaty, Persephone returned the discreet smile with a small wave, wondering why through the chaos of the room he only focused on her.

Peter eventually paid the over priced bill and sung out a string of apologies to Persephone. The group found a relatively large booth to sit at near the back, and for the parlor's safety, Marlene was sat between Lily and Peter and Sirius was sat between Remus and James.

"Well that was-" Lily started before being cut off by James.

"Exhilarating." James breathed out still staring at Persephone from across the parlor.

"Wouldn't be my first choice of words but good attempt, Potter." Lily joked.

"Did you see the way she looked at me, Evans? She's already fallen madly in love with me, I might as well propose now." James bragged to Lily and then to the rest of the table.

"Better start preparing your vows lover boy because shes heading here right now" Marlene deadpanned.

"What?!" James yelled while looking around the parlor madly only to find that she indeed was walking towards their booth.

"Here's your sundae Lily and uh- the rest of you I suppose?" As Persephone set down the comically oversized sundae and a bunch of miniature spoons, the whole order took up half the table.

"Why is it so large?!" Peter exclaimed while laughing breathlessly.

"That's what she said." Sirius snickered to James who laughed under his breath, which Lily caught and proceeded to click her tounge and shake her head in disappointment.

"Well, we only had two 'sundae' glasswares available because we're short on staff today, so it was between jumbo sizing and our sample sizing.." Persephone explained awkwardly, cracking her knuckles to defuse the tension in her anxiety-ridden body.

"Man this parlor is a dump." Marlene stated at her directly.

"Tell me about it." Persephone laughed lightly at her words, easing her tense composure a bit, to which Marlene gave her a small smile.

"You should join us later at the bonfire tonight, Persephone." Marlene smirked at her, leaning back against the booth's plush back and allowing her legs to stretch into a manspread position.

"Hm maybe.." Persephone smiled at her, shurgging her shoulders softly before walking back to the register.

"How. Did. You. Do. That?!" James finally exclaimed once the girl was out of earshot.

"Do what?" Marlene questioned cooly while quirking one eyebrow up.

"Be so cool?? While talking to a literal goddess?!" James rambled while his hands flung crazy in the air.

"I'm always cool." Marlene stated nonchalantly.

"She's right you know, mate." Remus told James, agreeing with Marlene.

"Ugh I know.." James mumbled while pouting.

"Anyways.. back to discussing your master plan, James." Peter said, putting the folded piece of paper onto the table.

"I cannot believe you want us to befriend her for your own personal gain, you are such a slob, Potter." Lily groaned after remembering what Remus had told her earlier.

"Well she's already my friend so boom now what?" Marlene said pointedly.

"I'm glad you asked Lightning-"

"Who is Lightning-?"

"Don't question just listen-"

"Potter I swear-"

"For Merlin's sake just listen up, phase 2 has commenced children..."

Marlene and Lily shared at look at James' dramatics but contiuned to listen.

"You and Blossom have the greatest task of them all, introducing my future wife to yours truly." James finished, smiling wickedly at the both.

The girls rolled their eyes and groaned. "Why don't you just introduce yourself? We're all gonna be at the bonfire together anyways." Lily asked already annoyed.

"She has a point mate." Sirius finally speaks up, as this entire time he's been munching on the sundae along with Peter.

"Hm, fine. However tonight you at least have to hype me up to her." James declares.

"That's even more challenging then introducing you to her!" Lily whined.

James gasped as he felt insulted, and fake cried into Sirius' shoulder.

"It'll be okay my snookums don't listen to the mean lady." Sirius hushed to James, glaring at Lily.

Lily then raised a bored eyebrow as Remus laughed loudly at the three.

( CUT TO BONFIRE . SAME DAY - NIGHT SETTING )

"Alright mystery gang what do we think of my outfit?" James spoke to the group consisting of Sirius, Remus, Lily, and Marlene. (Peter was currently out buying the drinks as he was the only person with a license and fake I.D)

"I thought you riff-raff called each other the 'marauders'." Lily asked James.

"We still do, dear always clueless Blossom, but when the group has you and Lightning involved in our scheme then we become the mystery gang." James replied proudly.

Lily rolled her eyes and then smirked when she said, "You would be the dog Scooby right? The one always eating and scared."

"And you would be Velma right? the weird nerd with nerd glasses because shes a nerdy nerd." James attempted to quip back.

"You're pathetic, Potter."

"Whatever, Evans. Alright for the relevant people in our gang, what do we think of my outfit?" James asked again. He wore light wash jorts with ankle length white socks and white adidas sambas, along with a linen white button-up shirt and seashell necklace, the top 3 buttons were purposefully unbutton of course in typical James Potter fashion.

"Love it 100% sex appeal." Sirius answered immediately, to which James winked and blew a kiss at him.

"Are you done flirting with my boyfriend yet, Prongs?" Remus laughed while shrugging his arm around Sirius' shoulder.

"Never Remus, this one stole my heart." James said as he dramatically fell to his knees in front of Sirius.

"Hey gays not to ruin your pride fest but Peter has been honking the horn for the past 3 minutes." Marlene rolled her eyes.

"Oh shit we're gonna be late." Lily perked up, grabbing her purse and started to head out.

"Tch such a nerd." James muttered laughing to Sirius.

"I heard that fatty!" Lily yelled while walking outside to the car with Marlene.

James gasped dramatically as he, Remus, and Sirius made their way into the car.

Once the group made it to the bonfire James and Peter carried out the boxes of beers while Sirius lugged around the bottles of alcohol and passed it around.

"Dude you're gonna be so wasted in the morning." Marlene laughed as she watched Sirius begin to down an entire bottle of liquor already.

"#Yolo girlfriend." He hiccuped.

Marlene laughed at the already drunk Sirius and walked over to Persephone, who stood by the ocean with a red solo cup in her hand.

"Hey Priscilla Presley." Marlene laughed.

"Oh hello, Marlene. I didn't know you were familiar with Elvis?" Persephone greeted, as Marlene had caught her by surprise.

"Lily's shown me some of his hits on her vinyl, and a few of her magazines has featured his wife , Priscilla." Marlene explained cooly.

"Your outfit is cute though, dressed up for someone special?" Marlene then asked as she gestured to her outfit, Persephone wore black lace babydoll style dress, her hair left out with loose curls at the bottom, dainty pearl jewelry sprawled around her body, and black ballet flats with frilly white socks.

"No one in particular, I just enjoy dressing this way." Persephone laughed shyly.

Marlene looked her up and down and smirked, "I'll be right back." She winked as she walked away.

Persephone went back to daydreaming and sipping on her drink idly as she watched the serene ocean.

When Persphone felt a presence behind her she turned around curiously and let out a small smile at the familiar face.

"Hey you." She let out, turning to face the boy.

"Oh-uh-Rosier, hi.. I didn't notice you standing there."

Persephone quirked an eyebrow as she looked around to notice that they were the only two standing by the ocean, as the crowd was more towards the sand, drinks, and bonfire.

"..Rightt." She dragged out sarcastically with a small smirk.

The two shared a small moment of laughter at her words until they fell into silence again.

"So how are you-"
"So what are you-"

The two laughed again realizing they spoke at the same time, Persephone motioned for the boy to speak first, nodding her head to him.

"I just wanted to ask how are you doing? We never got the chance to talk much during school or earlier today." He finished, discreetly attempting to rub the sweat off his hands on the back of his jorts.

"I'm doing fine I suppose, as good as anyone can around here. And you're right, we never did talk much in school, so what's the motive for doing so now?" Persephone spoke clearly, her sharp wit showing off, Persephone was not an idiot and knew of the boy's reputation from numerous rumors around school.

"Easy, Rosier," James began, raising his hands up in defense, taken aback by her sudden personality change, "I just wanted the chance to talk to you, I mean- you've just always stuck to yourself and no one even knows you beyond the surface level, your just like so mysterious I guess- and what can I say- I like mysteries." He finished, he looked down at the tide brushing against their shoes, feeling embarrassed that he let himself ramble.

"How can you 'like' mysteries if you know nothing about its contents?" Persephone asked.

"I like the rush of solving them."

"Right.. so you just enjoy things and feelings that are simply temporary?"

"I didn't mean it like that, Rosier."

"So what did you mean?"

"I mean that I want to talk to you. I want to know you. Let me figure you out." He reached for her slightly.

"Mysteries are never that easy to solve, Potter." And with that, Persephone walked off, leaving James in her wake with nothing but a longing sensation.

I am so so soo excited for the development of this book, I've been holding off working on this because of school and work but I couldn't help but constantly have this plot wandering in the back of my mind !! So I finally finished this chapter and mannn I adore the way it turned outtt, Persephone my love <3

         ⭐️ Cliffhangers !! Wooooo poor James man Percy can be a meanie when she feels threatened ;(

         ⭐️ I am living for platonic Lily and James banter !! It is sooo fun writing out their dialogue LMFAO My inspo for the book's atmosphere was definitely sitcom vibes like new girl, brooklyn 99, ugly betty, ect so let me know how I was doing on that!!

         ⭐️ I wanted Persephone to give off movie Priscilla vibes lowkey with her personality changes so if yall watched that movie plss let me know how I did and how I can improve🙏🏽🙏🏽 Her personality was also based off characters like Hachi from Nana, Rory from Gilmore Girls, Ally from the Notebook, and Jane from Jane the Virgin!! I wanted her to have a unique type of characterization because I've noticed that main characters in these fics usually have a certain sassy badass characterization choices which I love dont get me wrong but I wanted to experiment with a softer, romantic, but still witty type of character yk??
