Annie's pov

My eyes flutter open and I'm on my back looking up at the white, plain ceiling. I numbly sit there as I look up at the ceiling. I then close my eyes and breath in wincing at how it hurts. I never knew heartbreak could be this painful. I feel like I can't breath, like I am breathing through a straw. My heart aches, it feels as if it could explode, and I move my hand to my chest. I groan as my head throbs and I open my eyes again.

With all these feelings I know, I never want to fall in love again. Nor do I want to let Riley drag me to a bar either.

Maybe love just isn't for me, my mate didn't want me, James went back to his mate. This might have been the Moon Goddess telling me love is not part of my future.

A knock sounds through my door interrupting my thoughts causing another groan to leave my lips.

I lick my lips before answering. "Come in."

The door opens and Eve skips in. Her hair is up in two pigtails and she wears a light blue sundress. "Hiya! Good afternoon Annie." She waves but my eyes widen at her words.

Afternoon? Damn it.

"That other girl left earlier in a hurry, something about finding a witch." Eve shrugs and I sigh loudly.

"Okay." I say softly and Eve moves towards me and sits on my bed.

"Well would you like to go get a late lunch?" Eve ask sorta shyly causing me to furrow my eyebrows. Why be shy about lunch.

"Um sure?" I tilt my head slightly and shrug. At my answer a hug smile takes over Eves face.

"Great! I know just the place! Plus I also have a surprise for you!" By now Eve is up and jumping up and down lightly.

A small smile takes over my frown at her reaction. So I stand despite the feeling of my body pleading me to lay back down and to never move. My joints scream and my back groans but nonetheless I get dress.

I put on a pair of dark colored Jean's and a creamy blouse and slip on some sandals.

"Wow Annie you are so beautiful!" I smile slightly at her attempt to cheer me up, even though I don't feel beautiful.

She hooks her arm in mine, very differently than Riley does. Rileys is more protective and assertive, letting you know that nothing would hurt you while she was around. Eve's is more light hearted, more careless.

Eve's wings seem to flutter in excitement as we walk down the hall.

My eyes widen as a smile reaches my face as we walk down the staircase to the front entrance as I see him in pink skinny Jean's and a white tshirt. His hair is styled in perfection and even his makeup is done. I think this is the first time I've seen him wear make up.

"Fray." I say excitedly as I approach him. I didn't really know Fray that well, but Fray is very much needed right now. I needed just a little light hearted relief in my life at this moment.

Fray wraps his arms around me and.hugs me tightly. "Hey Annie."

"Oh I love hugs," Eve states excitedly and I feel her arms around me as she joins in the group hug. Normally I didn't like hugging people I barely knew, but this is definitely an exception.

"Alright I am starving let's jet out of here!" Fray breaks from the hug and Eve's wings flutter as his words as an excited squeal leaves her mouth as we walk out.

"Oh Fray can I drive?" Eve begs excitedly as we approach Frays car.

Fray throws her a pointed look mixed with a slight glare. "Absolutely not."

Eve pouts and crosses her arms. "Why not? You trust me don'cha?" I smile slightly at Eve's accent seeming to thicken.

Fray looks at Eve sideways. "Eve dear, last time I trusted you my studio exploded, quite literally."

A blush lightly dances on Eves cheeks as she shrugs her shoulder. "But Fray no one died."

"The fact the silver lining you find from that is that no one died, proves my point." Fray shakes his head causing Eve to whine. Fray unlocks the car and we quickly get in and take off.

"I know this place, my friend works here." I shrug as we pull up in the drive way of Peppie Cafe. We quickly get out and walk to the door with our tummies grumbling.

"Just three?" The host ask and we nod our heads as he quickly grabs menus and takes us to our seats.

I sit beside Eve across from Fray.

"So how is our little evil Queen." Fray ask as his eyes scan the menu causing me to sigh.

"Starting a world war and has Jacy as her new lover." I sigh causing the two to look at me wide eyed.

"Jacy?"

"War?"

I raise my eyebrows at the two. "Yeah."

"Why Jacy, she isn't even that cute, plus she is a twin, extremely evil." At Eves words I look at her with a raised eyebrow.

"What? You say it like she is evil because she has a twin." I ask full of confusion causing Eve to smile at me and giggle.

"Because it is, when you have twins with that power you always have an angel and a demon. I don't know the science behind it but for some reason, studies show twins born with the power of persuasion, only one of them has a soul." My eyes widen at Eve's words, my hands get clammy at her words.

So Jacy doesn't have a soul? That makes her even more dangerous.

"So this romance with my sister?" My question comes out unsure and Fray speaks up confirming my suspicions.

"Is very unhealthy, with out a soul Jacy doesn't exactly having feelings, she definitely doesn't have a moral compass so you can throw remorse out of the window with it." I sigh and clench my jaw at his words. A soft hand finds my arm and I turn and see Eve giving me a comforting smile as she runs my arm.

"Annie, your sister is fine, Jacy obviously likes whatever Navi has plan, I wouldn't worry until it's time to get Navi back to normal, whatever you guys have planned." I sigh at the truth in her words, Navi is okay as long as she continues to do bad things, Jacy will be satisfied.

"Hey I'm To- oh hey Annie!" I turn my head and smile at Todd, I nod in approving of his appearance, instead of his skater boy look he sports a more clean look for a waiter.

"Hey Todd these are my friends Eve and Fray." I say as I introduce them, Todd takes Eve's hand and shakes it, then takes Fray's hand and shakes it as well.

Suddenly they both slowly freeze as their eyes widen slightly.

"My My." Fray states in a dream like voice and my eyes widen and a smile plasters on my face.

Suddenly Todd seems to snap out of it and a look of terror washes over his face. His forehead seems to glisten with sweat and his words seem to just stumble out. "Uh I-I-I uh I just-I just need a mo-moment-  a moment uh excuse me." Then quickly Todd rushes away causing my eyebrows to rise and my heart to sink.

I look to Fray who seems to mirror my reaction though it is multiplied.

"Um let me go talk to him hold on." I state and stand quickly and rush after my friend.

I find Todd in the back, leaning against the wall taking huge breaths, seemingly to try and calm himself down.

"Todd?" His head snaps to me as I walk towards him, I put my hand in him in a comforting way.

"I can't believe I just found my mate, and it's a guy," I tilt my head at his words.

"Really? You don't seem so surprise it's a guy more so you just seem surprised you found him." I giggle causing a blush to take over Todd's face, he awkwardly scratches his arm.

"I just, I've been hiding out for so long. My dad, Annie, my dad is human, he still believes in the ways of the human kingdoms, being gay over there is punishable by death, how do I tell him his son, his only son is gay." I furrow my brows at his words, my heart drops at the fear on my best friends face.

The human kingdom has strict rules about who you marry, no same sex, and only human mates, if anything else you had to leave and never return.

"We can tell him together," I shrug and Todd shakes his head.

"Annie he would kick me out, I don't want to be kicked out." Todd shakes his head as he looks up to the sky as if the answers were written in the clouds.

"We can figure this out together, Fray, you and me, maybe even Eve could think of something." I shrug with a hopeful smile.

Todd let's a breath escape him. "I don't know Annie, I'm just scared my dad will force me to reject him, you know?" I nod my head at his words.

"He can't force you to do anything Todd, it will be okay I promise. Why don't you go ahead and go talk to Fray, he is a nice guy and he probably thinks you are going to reject him." I reason causing Todd's eyes to widen.

"What? No I don't want to reject him." I smile with a shrug at his rushed words.

"Then go talk to him." Todd nods at my words and rushes off back into the cafe.

"Wow how sweet." I turn at the sickly sweet voice, my eyes widen and my stomach drops as I spot Kaela.

The Making of Glitch:
Bains death was supposed to be "anticlimactic." It was supposed to be something of insignificant not really a big deal. (For reasons I cant say just yet 😉)
The moral of Glitch is to show that people don't always break over something extremely big. Navi had a lot of trauma just from her childhood, add that with two kidnappings, navi was barely hanging on, the killing of her mate would be her undoing.

Just because you feel people have it worse than you does not mean your feelings are not validated.

How I imagine Navi
