Annie's pov.

The rest of the week flew by, I spent it tangled with James, both literally and figuratively. I feel foolish because in the week being with him, I've fallen in love with him. Completely. I have never felt so at home with someone until I met him. We aren't even mates and yet it feels like we belong together.

I feel foolish for admitting it. Like it is too fast? For mates it would be normal. Though we aren't mates. So shouldn't we take it slower? I just can't help but to fall. He is like a big cuddly teddy bear.

I sigh as I walk him to his truck. "When will you be coming back." I try to keep the desperation from my voice. We had been glued to the hip for a week, yet I am not ready for him to go.

"As soon as I can, I'll let you know. It might be a few weeks though." James sighs as he looks at me, he seems to soak up every bit of me, taking a mental picture to take with him. He then leans down and gives me a kiss. I return it eagerly, begging him not to leave through the kiss.

James breaks the kiss, sending me a sad smile before getting in his truck. I wave as he drives away.

I sigh as I turn and walk back into the castle.

"I like him Lady Annie." I turn and face the guard with a slight smile on his face. I nod at him.

"Me to."

I then turn and make my way up the stairs and hallways until I get to the office. I unlock the door walking in and sit down. I open the laptop and start on the paper work I had not worked on in a week. Being head of council meant I always had paper work needing to be done. I try to push the though of the meeting with all the kings and council members in a couple hours as I try and get as much paperwork done as possible.

I tuck the light blue button up shirt into my pencil skirt before putting on my heels. I then pull up my hair into a high bun before grabbing my laptop and walking out of my room.

"You ready for this?" Daniel asks he walks up beside me.

"No." I say sharply. Creepy crawlies seem to swarm in my stomach as it turns. My skin feels itchy and I'm sweating, making my hands feel clammy.

A laugh leaves Daniel. "I don't think any of us are, except Navi and Jacy." I huff as Jacy's name leaves his lips.

"Have you talked to Riley?" I ask as we start up another set of stairs. Hopefully she could be on her way with a way to bring Bain back and everything could go back to normal. Though my instinct tells me that is unlikely.

"Yes, she has something but it's not bringing back Bain. Plus she has to find an enternal fire dragon. " Daniel shrugs as I cast him a confused look.

"Well guess we are up a shit creek without a paddle at the moment."

"More like just looking for the paddle really." Daniel grumbles as we reach the door to the huge meeting room.

I open the door and walk in. The smell of books hits my nose even though there are only two book cases in the large room.  The room is very plain and only has three long tables that form three circles. The inner circle sits the Kings and Queens. The two outer circle sits the second in commands or betas, Council and Princes or Princesses that are observing the meeting.

I walk to the second inner circle that has the head of council members and Prince and Princesses. I sit in my spot and look around at the room that is already half way full. Daniel sits beside me.

I open my laptop and get everything set. Daniel laughs at me and I raise a brow. "You are so nerdy."

I roll my eyes "I take my job seriously."

Desdemona (Navi) pov

I put the crown on my bald head as Jacy comes in wearing a dark blue pant suit. Her hair is down in curls. "You ready?" Jacy ask and I smile as I turn towards her. She looks gorgeous, her age doesn't show making her look as young as me.

"Of course! Though," I pause as I slowly walk towards her." There is a change in plans." I smirk causing her head to tilt with a small smirk and raised brow.

"I don't want you to use your powers to make them agree with me." Jacy's smirk drops as she gives me a confused look.

"What? They won't agree with you if I don't." Jacy argues as she walks to me.

"I know, I don't want them to." The smirk finds it's way back to Jacy's face.

"Oh?"

"I want war, we are going to cause a world war," a full blown smile takes over Jacy's face at my words.

"Well Des, you want the world to burn." She crosses her arms as she nods her head approvingly. Excitment fills her face.

"Yes. I want to watch the world burn, with you." A blush forms on Jacy's lips and she wraps an arm around me pulling me close letting her lips meet mine.

Annie's pov

The door closes and I turn my head and see Navi walk in with Jacy behind her. Navi sits in the circle with the rest of the Kings and Queens and Jacy finds a spot with the council.

"I am thrilled you all were able to come on such short notice," my stomach turns at the sickly sweet tone of Navi's voice as it floats through the air. The vampire king, Acan nods at her words. The others thank her for the invitation.

"So what is this meeting about Navi?" King Faren asks politely but Navi narrows her eyes at him.

"It's Desdemona." Faren, along with the rest of the Kings and Queens, eyes widen at her clipped tone.

"My apologies," Faren's voice is strained. Navi gives him a sweet smile.

"Now, I have invited you all today because I believe we should all put a new law into practice." Navi starts, every word makes me grow more tense. I feel a soft hand right above my knee and turn my head to see Daniel. He gives me a reassuring nod and I quickly nod my head before looking back to Navi as he moves his hand away from me.

"Ah a new law? How would it help us all?" Queen Mae Flower speaks and I my eyes widen at her strong voice, you could tell she was confident in the way she spoke. She held herself elegantly. Her hair was dark and extreme curly, making me jealous at the way it surrounded her head so elegantly, her skin as dark as coffee with only a drop of creme. She has a lip ring in the middle of her bottom lip.
She makes King Ajax look as pale as a vampire, in reality his skin is a creamy caramel color. Almost like James. The similarities between Ajax and James are unreal, Ajax looks like an older version of James.

"Well it is to drop crime rate and increase the employment rate." Navi smiles causing the others to nod.

"I didn't know you creatures could handle criminals. Wild beast trying to tame wild beast." Most everyone glares at the human king, Louis and his wife Aden looks at him in horror. She quickly shush him causing him to glare at her.

"Don't you tell me what to do bit-"

"Anyhow let's get on with it shall we?" Navi interrupts looking pointedly at king Louis.

"I've decided we should employ witches and Fairies in hospitals to test every new borns aura." Confused looks go around the room as Navi talks. "If any newborns have a 10% or more of corrupt energy then they are killed instantly."

Like that, the balance in the room was ruined as choas roared taking over the hearts in the room.

My eyes widened as Navi smiles, as she welcomes choas like a new lover, seeming to offer her a seat, as some of the rulers stand up from their own seat.

"Insanity!"

"Never!"

"The audacity of your use of power!"

"Sickening! You should not be a Queen with thoughts like that." My eyes widen at the voices of the Kings and Queens. The council of each kingdom were also on their feet with words of their own.

"Remove that crown!"

"This better be a joke!"

"You must be under a spell to have those thoughts?"

"Outrageous! The power has gone to her head."

"Everyone calm down, it's not that bad, unless your kingdoms are having a lot of corrupt babies." Navi shrugs with a smile.

"It seems more like a corrupt Queen among us." Queen Mae Flower's strong and venomous voice strikes the air unforgivingly.

Navi looks to Queen Mae flower with a smirk. "Calm yourself Mae, it's a good idea, you're to busy letting your emotions see the big picture."

"Oh no I see the full picture, Your mate dying has effected you greatly. Your mate died and your sanity went with him." With her words Navi's smirk falls from her face and a deathly glare takes over.

"Do not speak of him!" A perfectly arched eyebrow is lifted while Mae smirks.

"I see I hit a nerve."

"Queen Mae, I see where you are coming from but I don't think this is the way to go about it." My eyebrows rise in surprise at Adens soft voice.

Aden's skin is the color of fresh honey, her hair is cut close to her scalp but the curls are still seen. Mae looks to her and nods, having a newfound respect for the new human queen.

"We will not agree to this new law, and do not think we will sit idly and watch you practice it here." King Ajax warns. The others nod in agreement.

My heart drops at Navi's smirk and accomplished look that goes through her eyes.

"Oh? And how will you stop me?"

I suck in a deep breath at the challenge as it rings through the air.

The Making of Glitch: Navi's hair represents her sanity/mental health. Which is why it wasn't fixed right away.

So are we wanting a Riley story? Like set before Glitch? Basically Rileys back story? I should warn you Rileys back story is Gory sooooo 🤷🏻‍♀️
