Chapter 1

Torn From Grace

Izuku looked at the sky as he made his way home. It had been slow going, due to a limp in his left leg and one swollen eye. Today's beating took longer than usual and lasted another thirty minutes than normal, at least that was what the timer on his phone said. Maybe it had been due to the other day claiming he had wanted to go to UA, or had tried to save Bakugo from the Sludge villain.

It could have been both, but at this point, it mattered very little. Bakugo had made his anger known, and it showed on Izuku's body. He trudged along towards the train and sat down.

What to do now, was the big question and what a question it was. After everything that had happened, being exposed on live television, being yelled at by heroes, and criticized by the media as well, no school would probably accept him now. He would be lucky to get an office job at this point.

'What to do,' thought Izuku as he sat in the train car as it hummed along its path. ' You know there is the... The other option,' His mind whispered in his ears. Hinting at anything else than a meaningless existence, more than just surviving day to day. Whispers that promised, sweet nothingness where there would be no pain, no suffering and no hunger. All he had to do was let go, become ash, become nothing but another statistic for quirkless teen suicides.

" No, not today. I won't leave mom behind like that. She deserves more than that," Izuku muttered quietly to the voices. ' She deserved a better son, than a quirkless one like you. ' his mind fired back.

For once he and the voices were in agreement. As He finally looked around him, hearing muttering that wasn't his own.

That is when he noticed he was alone there. Someone had caught the train with him or was already there when he got on board, which once he didn't know. He looked down to see a man at the end of the car sitting, and holding his face in his hands muttering. He was getting louder every second that went by.

The man at the end of the car was setting off every alarm bell in Izuku's head as he got a better look at the stranger, Izuku could see more of him clearly.

He looked young, yet old, with massive bags under his eyes, and scars on his face. He looked around Izuku's age but you wouldn't be able to tell by how worn out he looked, and how dirty and how unclean his clothes looked.

The conversation the stranger was having with himself was surreal, no sound left the stranger's lips. Yet the words and sounds associated with them landed in Izuku's brain bypassing his ears, leaving a high-pitched whine where his eardrums should have been. The inside of his head felt wet, and rough - almost as if his brain was licked by a cat. He was snapped back to reality by what was supposed to be a laugh, yet it felt like someone had made him stand in cold damp mud, as he felt the laugh roll off him. There was only enough space for one in there, but it felt like there were three people, all jostling for attention before his brain gave up and decided to vacate his skull via his ears

" Are you okay sir?" Izuku asked, reaching out a hand to help, the part of Izuku that still hoped he could help others reached out and hoped it was just his nerves stressing him out.

"QUIRKLESS!" The man yelled, and laughed maniacally, "They told me I was quirkless, WRONG, WRONG, so very wrong." He mumbled every word as his head twisted, and turned with every word.

Then he snapped his head towards Izuku, "You're quirkless too, I know. I heard your thoughts, so loud, so noisy," The stranger said as he moved his head from side to side with every word. " How do you know that?" Izuku asked terrified as he started backing up.

" I SAID, I could hear your thoughts, silly-dumb, dumb. So loud, like mine, like the voices... You're like me, in a few ways-ways." He sat up and stumbled towards Izuku.

" I don't know what you mean," Izuku replied walking backward away from the man, and as he was about to turn the man grabbed his shoulder. "Of course, you don't know all of it, but you will. I know we're alike in many ways. We both were hurt-abused because people thought we were weak. I know what you are." He walked closer to Izuku, who was just buying his time until the train stopped.

" What am I then?" Izuku asked, trying anything that would keep the man busy talking if he was going to hurt him in his insanity. "... Tired, I know both you and I are tired. Very, very tired. Of the pain, suffering, and abuse. I overthrew my tormentors, why didn't you?", ' He knew about Bakugo, what else does he know?', " Because it wouldn't have been right. He had once been my friend. I'm not strong, and who would believe me?"

"Hehehe, well I do," The stranger giggled in reply. " You're like me"

" How am I like you, then?" Izuku asked as his worry raised when he asked the question.

" You want the pain to end," was his reply, and everything slipped away. The voices in my head came back with a fury, and rose as he spoke, " Me, you, don't you want it to end. Aren't you tired? Wouldn't it be great to be free of all of this?"

The air began to ripple, and the smell of ozone washed over Izuku as he just wished the train finally reached his stop or derailed to end this nightmare. Yet it didn't, the Stanger's words, tingled Izuku's skin, and brain felt as if needles were being jammed in them.

" I-I- I am, but I don't want-t to leave my mother alone like that. She deserves better than that. Just leave me alone!" Izuku stuttered in fear to the stranger, as his eyes darted to the widows. Hoping, looking for their stop to get off. Why weren't they there yet? Why was it taking so long?

" Oh, come on friend, she will be gone before you even know it," as the stranger snapped his finger and a metal pole bent in half ripping itself from the train car wall.

"In the blink of an eye, she'll be gone, and you'll be all alone. Why not cut to the end of this fruitless chase?" The stranger stepped forward as he made a motion with his hands behind his neck, jerking upwards while closing his eyes. As if he was hanging himself. Their every word and motion caused the hair on the back of Izuku's neck to stand on end, as he felt an invisible rope tighten around the neck with every step the stranger took closer to him made his body SCREAM at him to run away

" You're not my friend!" Izuku shouted, stumbling backward through the car door into another empty car. The stranger was always close behind talking with Izuku, and never giving up the chase. He was moving far faster than he should have or had any right to move that fast.

"Sure I am *am*! I'm your **best** friend *friend*...or at least....as close to one you will have *you will have*! After taking a look inside that head of yours *yours*, I know **more** about you than you will ever admit...to yourself... and others...." The tone became mocking in the last words "...even to mommy-dearest!" There was a sickly, unhinged laughter that bypassed his ears and crawled through his mind, leaving a wet, soggy footprint... The voice sounded scattered as if something was speaking through him, using him as a human microphone.

We had finally reached the last car as the train pulled into the station. Several heroes and police aimed their weapons at the train at the stranger.

"Yano Satoru, You are under arrest for the first-degree murder of Yasui Katsumi. As well as unlicensed quirk use. Assault, and fleeing of police, and heroes. Surrender now!" Panic flashed through the man's face as he stood still, like a deer caught in the headlight. For the first time, he was scared, and it was Izuku's perfect chance to run. As the heroes and police moved closer he moved to escape. Just as freedom was close, the stranger, Satoru, grabbed him.

The heroes and police stopped and raised their weapons again as Satoru began to glow and held a squirming Izuku. " STAY BACK! Or I will turn him inside out faster than you can pull the trigger."

' Why won't he give up? He thought he wanted to end it all, then why is he using me as a meat shield?' Izuku pondered as he could feel Satoru glow, and pulse with energy. It felt as if he was being held by a campfire, and every nerve telling him to run and flee. Satoru mumbled as he grew, and glowed more and more. As Izuku realized what was about to happen, Izuku yelled out," Run, he's going to blow!"

The police and heroes began to back away as Satoru screamed in frustration at his plan being found out. Izuku elbowed Shatoru in the face as his screams pierced his ears, and he could feel blood run down his ears. He began to run as he tripped, looking down to see Shatoru holding his ankle, and not letting go.

' You, you Ruined-destroyed. EVERYTHING, you, you DEKU!" He screamed, and began to laugh, as his laughter turned to screams. As he was turned inside out by the energy inside of him, and became a screaming rift made of teeth, and leering eyes. A hero had grabbed his hand, keeping him from slipping into the void. All the police and heroes had grabbed onto something to keep from slipping. Using some sort of scarf to hold onto a pole nearby that was quickly beginning to bend from the pull of the portal.

" Let go, save yourself!"

" You're going to be fine kid, I got you."

" If you don't let go we're both going to fall in!"

" I'm going to save you, kid!"

" You can't save us all... Besides I'm just a Deku."

He let go of his hand and fell into the portal thinking, ' I finally saved someone.' The portal grew, and he was swallowed, consumed by it. It took some time but eventually, it collapsed in on itself. Leaving a bunch of confused police, and one mortified hero. As everything from Izuku's view slipped away as he faded into what he thought was nothingness, but couldn't have been farther from the truth of where he was.

He didn't know how long it was until he woke up. He just remembered the feeling of being weightless and floating as if he was drowning and yet could still breathe. The air around was breathable yet a nigh impenetrable barrier. He wanted to do nothing more than leave this place and go home. He wanted to leave, yet every exit looped back to this exact spot. He wanted to stop floating and just as soon as he wished for it, his desire became reality. He could feel solid ground beneath my feet, it happened, and his eyes opened fully. He wished he hadn't opened my eyes and remained ignorant of where he was. He looked down and there was nothing more than a gaping maw of nothingness. Then I looked around to see...

It was so great and terrible to behold. He could see so much more than he ever wanted, or needed to. Gazing around brought visions to his eyes, colors beyond imagining, shapes beyond possibility, and to the ears came voices that spoke simultaneously truth and lie, fact and fiction as one.

He could see an ocean, composed of trillions of roiling, screaming souls, stretched across infinity, and yet an emptiness that yearned to be filled for eternity filled with tides of teeth, claws, and maws as beasts and creatures fought endless wars of carnage and slaughter.

He wanted it to stop. He wanted to close my eyes and pretend none of this was happening. Yet his eyes didn't do anything of the sort. He was witnessing the beginning and end of everything, as time ran out moment by moment. As gods, and devils battle for all of time.

The creatures and daemons noticed him and whispered all around him. They encircled wirisphering about promises, and gifts if he only let them in. He didn't want anything they offered, he just wanted to go home. Before the monsters were on him a portal opened and he was sucked in. Hoping he was going home not knowing how wrong he was. As he the landed in a room filled with corpses.
