Dust

After a few seconds, I opened my eyes and licked her cheek. she opened her eyes and chuckled, drying the remains of her tears.

-"So what now?" she asked. I looked at her and sat down, pointing her to get on me again. she got on me and held me "you're so warm..."

I did a best smile a wolf could do and got up, walking towards the mansion this time. she stayed quiet and cuddled me on my back, warming herself. I walked a little faster and got on the road that lead to the mansion. I made it there a couple of minutes later and and walked in garden. I saw Ignis' car parked and headed towards the door and tapped my paw on it then Robin knocked it louder than I did and after a couple of seconds Mrs. Luis opened up the door.

-"Goodness! come on in Dust!" she said and looked at Robin. I walked in and set Robin down and shifted back to my human form when the others came forward. Elsa ran in, hugging me tight without saying a word. I hugged her back, closing eyes.

-"Welcome home bro." Alex said and stepped forward. I let go of Elsa and hugged him. Alpha was watching me in the doorway, looking relieved. I broke the hug and turned to Mrs. Luis.

-"Mrs. Luis, can you take Robin upstairs and give her some clothes? she's freezing."

-"Of course. come on darling." she said and and lead Robin upstairs and Elsa followed them. Robin kept her look on me until she disappeared upstairs and I went further in to shake Alpha's hand but in the blink of an eye, he hugged me. I was shocked and surprised at the same time.

-"I thought I lost you Dust." he said, holding me tight. I slowly hugged him back.

-"You didn't..." I slowly said and he let me go.

-"What happened out there? Ignis didn't say anything." he asked.

-"It was Alpha Liam. he took Robin." I said.

-"Son of a bitch!" Alex said. "I knew it!"

-"It was Jonah. he was the spy." I said.

-"Jonah?!" Alpha asked. I nodded.

-"He'd been working for Liam the whole time and giving off information about us. he told him about Robin and everything."

-"I can't believe it..." Alpha said. "what else?"

-"Dad, he's tired." Alex said. "come on Dust, let's take some rest."

-"He's my uncle." I said before Alex did anything and they looked at me confused.

-"Who's your uncle?" Alpha asked.

-"Alpha Liam. his brother was my father. Ignis is my half brother... I'm too tired to discuss it now. I just thought I should let you know." I said before walking away before their widened eyes but I didn't go to my room. I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge and without thinking, I grabbed two beers and made my way to the dining room. I took my coat and scarf off and sat down on Alpha's usual chair. I got a glass and poured myself a cup of beer and looked at it. just looking at the yellow, alcoholic liquid in front of me.

After a while, Ignis walked in. I kept staring at my glass and did not even lifted a muscle. he came closer and sat on a chair next to me.

-"Can I join you?" he asked. I finally lifted my gaze off the glass and looked at him quickly before turning back to the glass.

-"Sure." I simply said.

-"Can I have one?" he asked.

-"Go ahead." I said again. he picked the other bottle and opened it up, taking a sip.

-"I thought you were a non alcoholic or something." he said.

-"I am."

-"Then what is all this?" he asked.

-"Proof." I said and burst into a small laughter. "proof that I'm a coward. this glass contains the most regular alcoholic drink in the whole world that almost everyone in United States drink. it's nothing hard to handle for someone like me. I know that and yet this glass has been sitting here for almost half an hour and I did not dare to drink it." I shook my head. "I'm just as weak willed as he was."

-"Who was?" he asked but then he realized before I say anything. "it's my father you're talking about."

-"Need I remind you, also mine?" I said and looked at him. he looked back at me silently for a couple of second before turning to his bottle.

-"You have his eyes. I can't believe I didn't notice it the first time I saw you." he said.

-"Lucky me..." I said and kept staring at the glass.

-"I came to talk to you Dust." he said and looked at me. "about us."

-"What about us?"

-"Everything! I mean you're my brother! and an Alpha after all! there are rights and positions and-"

-"I'm not an Alpha." I cut him off. "I didn't grow up to be an Alpha."

-"Maybe not but you still are!"

-"Why does it matter? last time I checked you were the older one so you'll be the Alpha anyway."

-"And what if something happens to me? who will I put in charge of my pack? my...our uncle?" he asked. I was silent and he sighed. "Look Dust, I'm as just as new as you are in this but we have to work it out. at least you have experience with brothers. I don't have that." he said looking at me.

We both stayed silent for a couple of seconds until the door opened with two knock and Robin came in.

-"Dusty? I was looking for you." she said.

-"Just... think about it." Ignis said and got up walking out. I raised my head and looked at Robin. she was wearing Elsa's raspberry colored sweatshirt and one of her Designer dark jeans.

-"You're calling me Dusty again..." I said with a smile.

-"Well yeah... I figured since we made up I should start calling you that again. it suits you." she said and walked close and sat by me and looked at the beer. "what's all this?" she asked. I sighed.

-"Nothing important. why were you looking for me?"

-"Um... I kind of want to know what's happening? everyone look like they just saw a ghost or something."

-"Yeah, they should. I found out Ignis is my half brother." she looked at me surprised.

-"Wha...oh my God. this is...wow!"

-"Yeah." I said.

-"I-I'm sorry... I mean I don't know if I should be sorry or no. I mean this is very big! did you see your dad?"

-"He's dead." I said.

-"Oh Dusty..." she said and hugged me tightly and I got that warm feeling in my chest again that made me smile. "I know you don't want to talk about your parents so I'm not gonna ask..."

-"Robin..." I said and looked at her. "only my family knows about that."

-"I know, I know-"

-"And you're my mate." I cut her off. "so, you're closer than my family. you should know."

She looked at me surprised and smiled sweetly.

-"Thank you..."

-"No problem...." I said and sighed. "where do I even start... my mom was a student in NYU. she studied Archeology. just a kid like us. my father, one the other hand, was a grown up and mature man. he was in New York, visiting his friend and he saw my mom. he was married then and Ignis was just a year old. just a couple of drinks were enough to make him forget all that and they... did it."

"So, by morning they parted ways. I guess both of them regretted what they did in the first place but it was a mistake that was over. or so they thought. my mom found out she was pregnant a couple of weeks later and found my dad's friend got his number and called him. she told him she was pregnant and it's his. he was terrified. she told him that she needed him cause she's gonna keep me and he should come there... he hung up. no matter how much more she called him, he never picked up again."

"Of course she didn't know what he was. that's why he was so scared. he was a werewolf, about to have a kid from the human woman who was not his mate. it was a disgrace in every way possible and he wanted nothing to do with it."

"One day his Beta came to her... you don't even know our ranks yet." I said and ran my hand through my hair.

-"It's ok... I'm a fast learner."

-"Well, there's the Alpha on top. he's the leader of the pack. then there's Beta, his right hand. these are the most important ranks. the lowest one is Omega. and there are some other ranks in between. I'll explain them all later."

-"Ok, go on." she said, obviously eager to hear more.

-"Ok, so the Beta came over to New York and found my mom. by then I was about a month and a week. he told her who he was and that he came on behalf of my dad. then he told her it's crazy but my dad is a werewolf and there's a high possibility that her child, me, could be a werewolf too. she didn't believe him but when he transformed, she finally gave in. he then explained everything to her about werewolves and mates and that my dad already has his mate and can't leave her and his son. he also said that I will have some sort of mark."

-"Mark?" she asked.

-"Yeah. mark of half breeds. that's what the child is called when a werewolf and a human, who are not mates have a child. and the child will have some mark. something that shows that it's the child of two unmated people. it's always there. sometimes they have unusual hair colors or a mark on their bodies. I knew a girl with red eyes and I knew another girl with the mark of a star on her hand. for me, it was this." I pointed at my streak of white hair.

"Then the Beta said that he will help her find some packs to take me in if I was a werewolf. she refused. she was gonna keep me. she said I don't have a father but I will have her. he told her it's very hard for an alone human to look after a werewolf baby but she said she could do it. so he just gave her a number of a trustworthy werewolf obstetrician in the city and also his own number in case she needed it."

"So a couple of month later, she had me" I chuckled. "I was told when I was born, I was in my wolf form. I can't imagine the pain she went through to push a big baby wolf out of her. but she did it. she gave birth to a little wolf." she smiled.

"But I only lived two years with her. apparently, having a baby werewolf when you're not even mated to one is a very dangerous thing. female werewolves can easily give brith and take care of their babies but it's very difficult for humans. there's a lot more blood in our body than in humans cause the baby feeds on it while in the body of the mother. also our structures are much stronger. that's why werewolves are not usually mated to humans because not all humans have these abilities to handle a werewolf."

-"Do I have them?" she asked, worried. I smiled.

-"You're my mate. you're chosen for me. that means you're perfect for me in every way, including that. anyway, she got sick. very sick. the doctor told her she has lost lots of blood because of me. she was just a normal human so she didn't have much strength. but she did her best to fight it but slowly, she wasn't able to look after a baby who constantly turned into a wolf. she had to face the hard truth that she had to let me go."

"She called the Beta and told her everything. he searched around and talked with werewolf families who wanted to adopt. but no one wanted a half breed. he searched until he finally came across Bradfords. he found it best if I didn't know I was an Alpha so he said I was a Beta."

"Mrs. Bradford, my stepmother, was very accepting. both of them actually, Mr and Mrs. Bradford. she didn't care that I was a half breed, she got my mother here and accepted me with open arms. she already had Alex and Elsa who were just a month younger than me so it seemed like a perfect home, my mom stayed here until... until she passed away."

-"I'm sorry..." Robin said.

-"It's ok... Julia was the closest person to me. that was Mrs. Bradford's name. I was very close to her and even called her mom. even for a short while I called Alpha dad but when I heard about how my real dad abandoned us, I stopped. I didn't want to call anyone dad anymore. I still love him like one, he raised me. he did more than a father would do but... I-I just can't get myself to call him that."

"And when Julia died, I got lonelier. I started practicing my fighting and Beta skills more and more and Alex was the one who I spent most of my time with. everything seemed normal... at least until you. until the second I tackled you down in the woods. that was the best thing that could have happened to me. I just wish I'd realized it sooner."

-"Oh Dust..." she said and leaned forward kissing me passionately and then hugged me. "I wish I'd realized it sooner too."

-"Realize what?" I said and slowly hugged her back.

-"That I love you." she said.

I said nothing out of shock but I was never happier. I was screaming on the inside and my inner wolf was howling his heart out. I hugged her tightly, not letting her go.

-"I love you too..." I said. "I love you very much."

-"Me too...and you're so cold." she said, slowly pulling away.

-"Yeah, probably because I was out in my wolf form for a while. even we get cold in this weather." she chuckled.

-"You need a nice hot shower to fix you right up." she said and moved my hair from my face. "and maybe I'll join you~" she smirked.

-"Whoa whoa, you sure you wanna see these old scars again?" I asked smirking.

-"Sure I do." she said and took my head leading me upstairs to my room.

She was right. a hot shower was just what I needed to fix me right up...~
