Dust

I ran in town with maximum speed, cursing myself the whole time I was zigzagging among cars in street and people in sidewalk. cursing myself of why did I ever leave her alone specially after I told her everything. and then cursing myself for being so weak that I couldn't let her go when I should have. if I had done it, she wouldn't be in this situation now.

I made it to her apartment and pushed the door open and ran upstairs. I ran all three floors up and knocked on the door panting. I knocked a couple more times until Lucy opened the door.

-"Oh Dust!" she said and hugged me. I hugged back but pulled away immediately.

-"What the hell happened?" I asked, panting.

-"I came here to see her but she's not here. come and see!" she said and walked inside and I followed her. her living room was a mess. the couch was moved and a vase was broken on the ground and also the table was fallen on its side and a floor lamp had fallen on the ground with of her framed pictures. there were pieces of broken glass and tile and drips of coffee on the floor. I looked down to see some drops of blood on the ground and large claw marks on the wooden floor and some on walls. I kneeled down to check out the claw marks.

-"What are those claw marks? is it for a dog or something?" she asked. I stayed quiet and checked them to be certain of my doubt.

-"Yeah...dogs." I said and looked at other parts of floor. "and apparently two of them."

-"But who's dogs? who took Robin?" she asked.

-"I don't know... did you check upstairs?"

-"Yeah but there was nothing there." she said and I headed upstairs. I opened her door and looked at her bedroom. it hadn't changed at all since this morning. I looked around to see anything bit nothing caught my eye. I was about to leave the room when I felt Cat rubbing its body against me.

-"Let go Cat!" I said but it kept doing it. "stop it!" I said but it played with my foot. I got on my knee to pick it up when I suddenly saw a small claw mark on the side of her that was under bed. I looked at it and checked under the bed and saw a green post it note. I immediately picked it up and read it.

-"If you ever want to see your mate again, I will be waiting at Thornwall mansion. come alone and don't tell anything to anyone or the girl will die." I whispered it to myself. I growled and felt my fangs coming out and and ears getting pointier. I took a deep breath and returned to my normal self and got up, walking downstairs.

-"What happened?" she asked.

-"Nothing that concerns you. just go home and lock your doors and windows."

-"But I have to-" I cut her off.

-"I said go home and locked the doors and windows! I'll take care of this." I said and hurried out of the apartment in the hallway. "I'll get her back. I promise." she nodded and I ran downstairs and in the street. I started running back towards the mansion. once I got there I slammed the door open and ran in looking around. right then Alpha and Alex ran out of his office.

-"Dust! what are you doing?" Alex asked.

-"Where is he?" I growled.

-"Who?" Alpha asked.

-"Ignis! Where is he?" I asked. I saw him coming out of Alpha's office slowly. as soon as I saw him I growled and attacked him, pinning him to wall.

-"The Fuck?!" he yelled.

-"Dust!" both Alpha and Alex said but I didn't let him go.

-"Don't come close!" I said and turned to him. "What did you Do?!" I growled at him.

-"What are you talking about?!" he said and I punched him in the nose which made his nose bleed.

-"DUST!" Alpha yelled.

-"Before I kill you right here tell me where she is!" I said. I couldn't hear anything else but my voice.

-"I don't what you're talking about! who is she?!"

-"Robin! My Mate!"

-"Dust he was here all day! what happened to Robin!" Alex asked I growled and let him go.

-"This happened to Robin!" I said and gave him the note and waited while they read it then Alpha turned to me and looked at him.

-"Where did you find this?" he asked.

-"In her house! with blood and claw marks on the floor!"

-"Calm down! Control your temper!" he demanded seriously as I quieted down.

-"Can somebody tell me what the hell is going on here?!" Ignis asked.

Alpha looked at him and handed him the note. he looked at it and read it before raising his head.

-"I-I didn't do this!" he said. "I swear! I don't even know where she lives!" he said.

-"Then who did?! You live at Thornwall don't you?" I asked.

-"Dust!" Alpha said. I stopped talking and took a deep breath.

-"I didn't do this Dust. and neither did my uncle. he's in Paris for Christ's sake!"

-"Well whoever did sure wants us to think you or your uncle did it." Alex said. "is there anyone else in Thornwall?"

-"Only the Beta and some staff. but I trust all of them with my life!" he said.

-"Then that just leaves you and your uncle!" I said and he growled.

-"My uncle may not be a very popular Alpha but he's not a murderer. and tell me why should he kidnap your mate?"

-"I don't know. maybe the same reason he sent people to beat me up?"

-"You don't know he did that."

-"Who else could have?" I growled.

-"Knock it off!" Alpha said and got between us. "doesn't matter! what matters is that your mate is at Thornwall mansion. whoever did this is there."

-"Then we gotta go!" Alex said.

-"No." I said. "the note said I must go alone. I can't drag anyone in this. she's my mate."

-"But Dust-"

-"Alex." Alpha cut him off. "I think he should do it alone." he said and nodded at me.

-"Well I'm coming." Ignis said while clearing the blood with a tissue. "it's my home. if anything is happening there I need to know. plus I know everywhere in the mansion. I can help you look for her."

-"The note says I should go alone."

-"We'll get in separately. how can they know we're together? that's my house after all."

I stayed quiet looking at him and thinking about it.

-"It's better if he comes with you Dust." Alpha said. I looked at him and then back at Ignis. "he knows the place better than you and he's the only one that won't get arrested if he walks through the doors."

-"How can I trust you?" I asked, turning towards him.

-"I give you my word." he said and raised his hand toward me. I looked at it and then him before shaking it.

-"Ok...go get ready now. I wanna leave as soon as possible." I said and headed to my room. I changed my clothes into a dark jeans and grey shirt and put on my coat and scarf and grabbed my gloves. I looked at my bed and saw the scarf laying there.

-"I'll get you Robin. I promised." I growled angrily and walked downstairs to hear some talking in the study.

-"Elsa! calm down!"

-"No! what's this stupid idea? Has everyone lost their mind?"

I opened the door and walked in to see Alpha and Alex with Elsa. Elsa turned to me and came towards me.

-"Dust what the hell is going on?" she said.

-"Nothing's going on. just something I need to do."

-"This is a suicide mission and you know it!"

-"Maybe, maybe not. but I have to go."

-"You don't know what Alpha Liam does to his prisoners!"

-"Looks like I'm gonna find out. where is Ignis?"

-"He went to get ready." Alex said.

-"Are you even listening to me?" she said. "I'm an Alpha too! you have to listen to me like you listen to dad!"

-"Is that how you're gonna make me stay? call me a insubordinate Beta but it's not gonna work."

-"Dust! please just listen to me!"

-"No you listen! every second she's gone it's killing me! and I'm not just saying that to get her! she's my mate and we still have a bond. every second she's gone and I know she's in danger, there's something burning in me and slowly killing me like a fire in my chest. and the only way that's gonna stop is to save her! if she dies ...I die too..." I said and she looked at me. I started heading outside when she blocked my way, her eyes watering.

-"Dust please... d-don't go! you're not gonna make it! I-I'll marry Ignis! I will! that way we'll be united and he'll let her go just... don't go." she said sobbing and looking down. I looked at her and slowly hugged her.

-"That's the last thing I want for you." I said. I felt her tears on my shoulders. "you're my baby sister and you're not gonna marry him, specially not for me. and anyways, he's not gonna let her go like that. I'll get her back."

-"But will You come back...?" she asked.

-"...Yeah. yeah I will. for my sister." I pulled away and smiled at her a little. right then, Ignis walked in.

-"Uh, Dust? I'm ready." he said. I nodded and hugged her for the last time before walking out.

-"Dust?" I head Alpha calling me and turned to him. "be careful. please."

I nodded and walked out with Ignis to his car and sat on the passenger seat.

-"So you ready for a drive all the way to the other side of state?" he asked.

-"Lets just go. and try to make it there as fast as possible."

-"Ok you get some rest. must be tired." he said as he started the car and drove out of the garden into the highway.

I sighed as we passed by snow covered trees of forest by the side of the highway.

I was just hoping, praying I wasn't too late...
