Dust

I quickly put on some clean clothes and rushed downstairs to the Alpha's office. I bumped into Ignis and stopped before knocking him down.

-"What's going on?" he asked.

-"No idea." I replied as I rushed to Alpha's office with him following me. I opened his doors and looked into his office.

Alpha turned to look at me. he had taken off his jacket and loosened his tie a bit. he looked annoyed. behind him Alex was standing. he looked angry more than anything and next to him on the chair, was her.

She had short black hair and pale skin. she was looking down so I couldn't see her face but it was obvious that she was tied to the chair. she was wearing sneakers and jeans with a simple plaid shirt and a jacket vest.

-"Who's that?" I asked.

-"An Invader." Alpha said and crossed his arms and walked to other side of the room. "Alex found her. she was snooping around the house. put up a real fight with Alex."

-"Are you ok?" I asked him.

-"I'm fine." he said. "I dragged her inside and tied her up." he looked at her and almost growled. "she put up quite a fight but now she's all shut up."

-"How deep was she in the territory?" I asked, stepping in.

-"Too close! a little more and she could jump in the office!" Alex growled.

I stepped closer to her and stood in front of her.

-"Well?" I said. "are you gonna talk or not?" I asked. no replies. "look at me when I'm talking to you!" I raised my voice. she finally raised her head slowly and looked at me and I finally saw her face. her face was pale too and light blue eyes which were sharp as razor blades. her hair was black and long.

-"Monica?" I heard a voice and turned to see Ignis called her.

-"You know her?" I asked.

-"Yeah!" he stepped closer and stood by me. "she works at uncle Liam's mansion. she's one of our guards."

-"I'm not your guard traitor!" she growled.

-"She talks then." Alex said.

-"You serve the Alpha family!" Ignis growled.

-"I don't serve traitors." she took a look at me. "or half-breeds for that matter."

Ignis was going to beat her when I stopped him. he looked at me and turned his gaze back on her again.

-"You obey orders of Alpha and like it or not, we're both your Alphas. You will not talk down to us and you will answer us or you'll die!" he almost yelled. she went silent and looked at him with hatred. "Better! now, did Alpha Liam sent you?"

-"...Yes."

-"Why?" I asked. she looked at me.

-"He's coming. and you can't do anything about it." she looked around the room. "you're all gonna suffer the consequences of what you've done and die!"

-"Thanks for the heads up, now when is he coming?" Ignis asked. she just smirked. "what's so funny?"

-"You are." she said. right then I heard the front door opening and a second later Elsa and Robin ran in.

-"We came as soon as we heard!" Elsa said.

-"Who's that?" Robin asked.

-"You let humans in your territory?" Monica said, disgusted. "I see now how deep in shit you have sunken." I growled a bit.

-"Dust..." Ignis whispered.

-"I thought I smelled her dirty scent when she walked in." she continued and I growled more, feeling myself transform.

-"Dust stop it that's what she wants!" Ignis said but it was too late.

-"Dust!" Robin called when she saw what was happening. I growled loudly and pushed Ignis away.

I quickly transformed to my wolf and tackled the chair down and growled in her face but all she did was to look at me and smirk.

-"Dust, back off! she wants this!" I heard Robin calling.

-"Better listen to your girlfriend puppy" she said smirking. "while you can." she whispered the last part.

I growled loudly and scratched her shoulder to her arm but before I knew it I cut off the rope too. the moment she was free, she transformed to a black wolf and rolled me down on the ground. I heard a couple of yelps and yells but she didn't do anything. she just jumped over me and broke the door open, heading for the woods. I rolled over and got up quickly and ran for the door.

-"Dust stop!" I heard Alpha calling. "she's too far already."

I stopped and looked out at the woods and growled one last time before turning back to human. Robin ran to me and hugged me tightly.

-"I'm sorry... I-I shouldn't have flipped out. I just couldn't wait and hear her talking like that about you..."

-"What's done is done. don't feel sorry about it." Alpha said. "it's clear that Liam's gonna attack sooner rather than later."

-"So what do we do now?" Robin asked, worried.

-"We get ready to fight."

-"How?" everyone turned to look at Elsa, who was standing cross armed. "How exactly?"

-"What do you mean?" Alex asked.

-"Alpha Liam has a whole army of werewolves. he trains them everyday. most of them are rogues that he gathered and kept close just in case. what do we have? a small pack with even fewer fighters! dad certainly can't fight and you two should back me up on this." she pointed at me and Alex. "we can't include minors and seniors of the pack and we have two pregnant females and the rest of them are not fighters! even including Ignis and our number of fighters we're outnumbered!"

-"I can fight too!" Robin said, out of the blue.

-"No you can't!" I said. "I'm not gonna let you."

-"Dust I'm stronger than I look!"

-"No!"

-"You can't stop me!"

-"Stop!" Elsa said. "even if she does fight, it's not gonna help us."

Everyone stayed silent for a few seconds.

-"Alice and Frost!" Alex suddenly broke the silence.

-"What?" I asked.

-"Alice and Frost! they can help!"

-"I can't risk other pack's Betas risk their lives for mine." Alpha said.

-"Dad listen up, I can ask them for help! they can bring as much volunteers as they want!"

-"Alex-"

-"Do we have any other choice?!" Alex yelled, cutting him off. "I'm sorry dad but we're running out of time and options. this is our best shot. either they help us or they don't! there's no shame in asking help."

Everyone stayed silent. it's like everyone agreed silently and accepted it but nobody said a word.

-"Then it's settled. I'm calling them. Dust, you gather around our fighters. and tell them to keep their families safe and hidden or send them out of town for their safety." he said and I nodded, heading out of office with Robin. she was silent until I got upstairs to my room.

-"Dust, I'm not staying here while you go out and fight!"

-"Not now Robin." I said while looking through the pictures on my desk the find the the pack's fighters contacts.

-"No, Now! I'm not gonna let you go out there alone fighting werewolves!"

-"That's exactly why I'm not gonna let you come! you're the first one they'll try to kill!" I turned and looked at her.

-"If they can catch me!"

-"They will! they're trained to do this!"

-"And they're not trained to kill half-breeds?" she crossed her arms.

-"That's different!" I said.

-"How different?"

-"I'm a trained Beta! I can look after myself and fight?"

-"You think I can't? I want to fight Dust! for you and your pack!"

-"No."

-"You can't stop me!"

-"Yes I can!" I took steps and got closer to her.

-"I'm gonna do it!" she said.

-"I'm not gonna let you!"

-"Why not?"

-"What? what do you mean?!"

-"Why won't you let me? Why can't I?"

-"CAUSE I CAN'T LOSE YOU AGAIN!" I yelled while grabbing her arms tightly. she looked at me surprised. "I can't...I just can't. once was more than enough. I can't lose my mate... I can't lose you." I said panting and looking down. she was looking at me all quiet and somewhat shocked. it wasn't long before she hugged me tightly and rested her head against my chest.

-"You don't have to worry about that. you're not gonna lose me again, ever. I promise you." she said.

I looked at her for a little bit and rested my head on hers.

-"I promise too..." I said slowly.

-"Thank you... you don't have to worry about me though, I'm a professional archer." she said as I chuckled. but the moment didn't last long. it was soon ended with a howl.

The howl came from outside, breaking through the air with its killing sharpness. I looked out of the window at the snow covered hills and town and the howl stopped. I stepped towards the window and looked at the cloudy and grey sky, to where I thought the howl was coming from. I couldn't see them but I knew they were close now, and the howl started again.
