First Impression

Robin

The Next few days passed almost normal. but there were strange things happening. first of all one morning I found my notebook in front of my doorstep. I checked it and it was the same I lost in the woods. I had no idea how it got there but it did. I tried to find a note or anything from the person who sent it but there was nothing. but that wasn't the strangest thing.

The town was different. as if ever since that evening that had gotten back from the mansion, something was changed in town. nothing specific but I had a certain feeling that I was being watched. sometimes I would find some man or woman staring at me through the crowd in street or a shop. but as soon as I blinked they would walk away, leaving me thinking that I was losing my mind. but as days passed I got more certain cause I started noticing the pattern. there were a few particular people who stared at me among all those others who randomly walk by me or follow me. these people had posts.

One of them was the fat bald man at the bus station I passed by every morning. he was bald and had a shaved face and always had a cup of Starbucks coffee on his hand. the name of the cup wasn't so obvious from the distance but I think it started with an A. so I called him the A man. he stared at me when every morning when I passed by the bus station

The next one was the woman in supermarket. it's funny that even though you go to the supermarket a particular day of every week, you still don't recognize the familiar faces of the same shoppers who also shop that day. but this woman made me remember her. for two weeks, every time I walked in the supermarket on Mondays and Friday she was there, staring at me. I guessed she was in her late thirties. she always wore a red leather jacket and small gold hoop earrings. sometimes two small kids were with her too but nonetheless she would stare at me every time she was in an aisle with me. I called her Red.

and the last was outside the cafe. recently, a young black man had started painting on a wall in an alley very close to the cafe. he had black braided hair and always wore the same jeans but with a different shirt and diamond earrings. every time I walked passed him to get to cafe, I could feel his eyes checking me and every step I take. I called him hairspray.

These were just the regulars. all the time, I felt like perfect strangers following me in the street or check my house. once, I even saw a man walked past my apartment door three times. there was no avoiding them and I had no idea why they were following me.

-"Are you even sure they're following you?" Lucy asked.

-"Of course I am! I'm being watched."

-"Then you gotta talk to cops."

-"I don't know... I mean they can deny everything. I got no evidence."

-"You can get evidence. listen, one of my friends was getting stalked by this guy right? she wanted to get a dirt on him so she could go to police. so, she talked to the store manger that she worked for to zoom the security cameras on the guy that stalked her. they recorded him in the store for one week and then with the footage police arrested him. easy as pie."

-"Where am I supposed to get security cameras? I have to have access to the town's security cams for that! and besides, they're not that obvious."

-"What do you mean?"

-"I mean they don't look directly at me. just peeks."

-"It's still stalking! and they could be working for someone. know anyone who would do this?"

-"No...not really."

-"Well while you figure it out, I'm right here for ya."

-"Thanks Classic." I smirked.

-"Well Robin Hood's gotta take care of cafe cause I'm heading to the post office. my mom's sending me some stuff from Vancouver."

-"Well then."

-"And while you're at it, try to do your work too! that guy's been waiting for his tea for a while now." she said pointing at a guy sitting next to window.

He was sitting but I could tell he was tall. he was wearing a dark blue jeans and a short black coat and a green scarf around neck. he had a little long and rather messy brown hair that was parted in center and were flopping over his ears and had a streak of white in them. his eyes were emerald green, matching his green scarf.

-"Right I'll get it now. what was his name?"

-"Dust. weird right? I wrote on the cup over there." she said and walked out.

Dust

I looked at the soaked window of the cafe. it was raining like this since last night. the cafe was warm enough though. I looked around at it a bit. it was artistic and a mixture of old and new. There was 'Dance me to the end of Love' by Leonard Cohen playing. I tried my best to not stare at my mate who was not too far from me, behind the counter.

I don't know what got to me. maybe it was the mate business cause I couldn't understand it. I couldn't stop thinking about her. I had her notebook returned after going through it. she was very talented. there were some really beautiful sketches in there. I had her notebook left in front of her doorstep but I kept her scarf. sometimes I found myself staring at it for a while. it was red and made of silk and besides the fade smell of Chanel, it smelled like her too. I wasn't proud of it, but once I held it against myself and fell asleep smelling it. it calmed me. made me feel like my mate was there.

I didn't wanted this to get to this. I wanted to forget I even had a mate but I guess rejecting her wasn't as easy as becoming her mate. I had to know who she was and what she was doing. I couldn't and didn't want to do it. so I assigned some of the werewolves in town to check her for me. they were all supposed to report to me that who she is and what is her schedule. so now I had a faint idea of her. I knew that she lived in number 16, Abbey road in the West part of town. I knew she went to Food town supermarket on Mondays and Fridays. I knew she jogged in the morning near the forest for half an hour. I knew she got out of her house Monday to Thursday at 9:30 AM to get to work and went to lunch on 12:40 until 13:40. then she returned to work until 9:30 PM. and I knew she went to Paris cafe on those days to work with the girl who owned the cafe and seemed to be her friend. but after all, I still didn't know her name.

After two weeks, I couldn't stand it anymore. it was like an urge that was burning up inside me and the cure was at the tip of my fingers. I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to see her. that morning I walked all the way in the rain to that cafe and walked in. the girl who took the order wasn't her. she must have been the European girl my agents told me seemed to be friends with her. she seemed to be a bit tanned with dark green eyes and braided black hair. a few minutes after I sat down, she walked in.

She was even more beautiful than the first time I saw her. although the first time, I was on her and she was terrified to death but this time I could actually see her. I couldn't help but notice that she was a bit short but I couldn't care less. she was white with small freckles on her cheeks and nose. her hair was waist long and a beautiful auburn and her eyes were shining like two blue diamonds.

That day she was wearing a red turtleneck and blue jeans. I could see her slowly singing to the song as it played. somehow, that just made smile. she pulled her hair in a pony tail and tied it but left out some and they fell right on her face. suddenly I found myself analyzing all her moves. I had no idea if she felt the same as I did. logically, she should. female werewolves were just as attached to their mates as males but she wasn't a werewolf. she knew nothing about being mates. I just turned my attention back to the soaked window and the sight of people with umbrellas, walking in rain.

-"Dust?" she called, holding a cup.

I raised my head up to see her calling me. I got up immediately.

-"Yeah that's me!" I said and approached her.

-"One large english breakfast tea for Dust." she said smiling and handing it to me.

-"Yeah thanks." I said taking it from her, barely able to keep my eyes off her.

-"So Dust, that's unusual. is it short for Dustin?"

-"Uh yeah but no one calls me that. just Dust."

-"ok then that's what I'll call you." she said smiling.

-"And you are...?" I said, feeling anxious.

-"I'm not supposed to tell my name to strangers." she said.

-"Oh uh...well..." I stuttered, not knowing what to say.

-"Did you actually fall for that?" she said suddenly bursting in laughter which made me chuckle.

-"Well I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't old enough to say your name."

-"Seriously? I'm 25!" she said excited.

-"Oh, I'm 26... so am I gonna get a name or...?"

-"Robin." she said smiling.

-"Robin. nice to meet you Robin."

-"You too! so you just moved in town?" she asked.

-"Uh no I live in Hilltop mansion." I could see her eyes widened a bit.

-"Hilltop? oh wow... big mansion." she said nervously

-"Yeah...I don't think it has a good reputation though."

-"Honestly it doesn't." she said chuckling. "But anyways you seem nice."

-"uh thanks...y-you too." I said stuttering. I just wish I wasn't blushing.

-"Well nice talking to ya! I don't wanna keep you waiting."

-"No it's alright! I-I liked you! the talk! I liked that talk!" I said correcting myself. what was up with me?

-"Well I hope to see ya around more stutter Dusty." she said chuckling

-"Heh...yeah I guess so... so um...see you."

-"Yup." she said smiling.

I didn't want to but I waved before turning my back on her and walking out of cafe. it was still pouring rain outside. I took a sip of my hot tea and looked around. the tea tasted delicious. so good that it made me want to come back another day for another cup.
