Dust

We were outnumbered.

That's the truth about the battle. we may have been well trained or in good shape or disciplined, but we were still outnumbered. the moment the battle began I lost everyone else. everywhere I looked, I saw wolves that I didn't know and soon enough, I got involved in fighting with them that I couldn't even see Robin anymore.

But I didn't have time to think about that. soon enough I started wrestling with a growling wolf. I soon pinned him down and moved on forward. I tried to look for Alpha Liam but I couldn't see him among all the fighting wolves. before I could move I got tackled down by a wolf to the ground. I growled and tried to push him off but he bit my neck. I howled slightly and scratched its chest. he started whimpering and I felt blood dripping on my body. I kicked him off on the ice and got up tackling him down and growled in his face and bit his chest. I moved on before it could get up and ran through the crowd, hoping to find Alpha Liam.

I ran through the crowd of wolves and looked around. everywhere I turned my head I saw two or more wolves snapping and biting each other. in the middle of the crowd I saw Alex getting pinned down by a big brown wolf. I growled and tackled the wolf down, making its head crash into ice. it howled miserably until I let him go. I nodded at Alex who had now gotten up and ran forward.

Before I see anything I saw two wolves ahead of me. a female white one and a male black. they growled, blocking my way. I growled back and backed up a little as I got ready to attack but the white wolf took the chance and jumped on me with bare teeth, going straight for my neck. I started wrestling with her to pin her down but she was smooth and tackled me on the ice and stuck her white fangs in my neck. I howled loudly and scratched her back with my claws and extreme violence that made her pull her head back in pain. the other black wolf ran froward to help her but I threw her off me and over him, making him fall down. I took a couple of seconds to catch my breath and I started running in the crowd again, keeping my eyes open for any sign of Alpha Liam but all I could see were the fighting wolves and a series of whining, moaning, growling and howling. I tried to look for Robin but I couldn't see her. but I saw a couple of wolves growling out of pain because of an arrow in their back.

It wasn't too late that I was blocked by another wolf. I narrowed my eyes when I recognized it by the scar over it's eye. he looked bigger than that night in street but I didn't care. I ran towards him and so did he but suddenly I stopped and growled because of a sudden pain in my back leg. I turned to see his pal, the grey wolf had bitten my leg. the scarface tackled me down to the ground, growling in my face. he looked at my chest clawed right my scars were. I howled as loud as I could out of pain as he just grinned in my face.

I growled and snapped, trying to bite its muzzle but he pulled back. he then growled and with a fast move, bit me hard on the neck. I gasped but I couldn't howl. I felt blood dripping from my neck. I tried scratching him but he wouldn't move and bit harder. the pain was almost killing me and the voices around me started to fade but suddenly he pulled back with his eyes widened. I took a breath and looked at him. he was looking forward with his eyes widened and blood dripping from his mouth. I couldn't understand what happened until he fell down on his side and I saw three arrows deep in his back and Robin who stood there with her bow ready.

I got up shakily and walked towards her while my neck was bleeding, leaving a trail of blood on the ice. I nodded at her and walked over. she got on her knees and held my face.

-"Dusty..." she said and embraced me. I nuzzled her neck but pulled away quickly. I nodded again and ran past her, still looking for the Alpha. I didn't want to take her with me because if I did find Alpha Liam he could used her as my weakness by attacking her, and I couldn't afford any weaknesses.

Finally I saw him, standing in his human form on the hill watching the battle going on with several wolves around him. I growled. just looking at him standing there like he was watching some sort of play made my blood boil. I didn't care about the his "bodyguard" wolves or anything. I just ran towards him. I ran as fast as I could, baring my fangs and preparing them for his throat. it wasn't until I was very close to him when he noticed me. I growled once more before leaping towards him but midway I was tackled to the ground by another brown wolf. I crashed in the snow with the wolf holding me tight. I snapped at him and wrestled him, trying to get up cause I was afraid Alpha Liam would get away. the other wolf pinned me down but I pushed him back trying to bite his neck when other wolves joined him. a total of six wolves started attacking me from every angle. every where I turned and knocked one down another one bit or scratched me with extreme prejudice. all I could see where the white fangs covered with blood and all I could hear were the sounds of growling and barking and... my moaning.

I finally gave up and fell to the ground with several bite marks and blood dripping from my body, making the snow turn red. I could taste blood in my mouth too but I was sure I didn't hurt them as much as they hurt me. I suddenly hated myself at that moment, lying on the snow with blood dripping from my scars and wolves almost grinning at my failure while blood dripped from their mouths. I couldn't hear anything else, not even the war. nothing but my pantings and heart beating. I hated this.

I looked up when I saw a shadow towering over me. and there he was, Alpha Liam in his black clothing with no expression on his face. the wolves lowered their heads at him a little and stepped back from me. I looked at him panting, unable to even growl. I felt a felt in my ribs and my lungs felt heavy, making it harder for me to breath. suddenly his mouth slowly curved to a grin as he kneeled down.

-"Honestly, you look more handsome like this." he said. and suddenly grabbed the fur on the back of my neck and head and pulled my head up. all I could do was whine and shiver in pain. I tried to raise a paw to scratch him but help my paw under his foot.

-"Ready to give up just yet?" he asked, smirking. I narrowed my eyes and gritted my teeth but before I could do anything, an arrow landed right next to him. "What the...?" he said, looking at it but before he could do anything another arrow came flying down and hit his shoulder. he yelped and let go of my head holding his shoulder and the arrow. more arrows flew in and hit one of the wolves.

-"Why are you still standing?! Go Get Her!" Alpha Liam yelled, still holding his shoulder. my ears perked up and three wolves ran to a point where I could not see. I panted nervously and tried to get up shakily. I growled slightly out of pain and anger and slowly managed to stand up before Liam came forward, kicking me down again. I growled and with my last remaining energy, bit his leg. he yelped and took his foot away. two wolves were about to run forward towards me.

-"No! he's no trouble." Alpha Liam said and pushed his foot right my deep shoulder scratches. I yelped and tried to howl but I couldn't and just moved, trying to get away from the pain. he took his foot off and left me shaking. he took the arrow off his shoulder and threw it down in front of me. suddenly I heard a scream that made my eyes wide open.

I saw Robin being pulled on the ground from her feet by two wolves. I couldn't see her bow or any kind of other weapons. her hair was messy and was trying to find something to hold on to on the ground. I tried to move towards her, to help her anyway I could or just to be with her but I could barely move. they brought her closer and finally let go off her beside me. she immediately sat down holding my head.

-"D-Dust..." she said and looked at me and all could do was a give out a small moan of relief. then she looked up at Liam with pure hatred in her eyes.

-"You monster... you'll never get away with this!" she said.

-"Get away with what? we agreed to fight for the pack and it was obvious who the winner is." he said and turned to a white wolf beside him. "finish it."

The wolf nodded and gathered all the bodyguard wolves as they all started to howl. the howl was loud and clear and cut through the cold air and the battlefield. slowly the battle stopped as every wolf stood up and looked up at the hill where Alpha Liam stood. I looked through them to find Alex or Elsa or Ignis or anyone but all I could see were unfamiliar faces and dead or injured wolves.

-"The battle is Over!" Alpha Liam yelled out, his voice sounding loud and clear. "your 'leader' has given up and human girl is arrested. there is no more point in fighting. just give up now and join the pack or keep resisting the inevitable and suffer the consequences." he said.

-"What are those consequences?" a voice called from the crowd a couple of seconds later. I looked up to see Alex standing among the wolves, with blood dripping on the side of his head. "Are you gonna kill us all? or are you gonna wait after you slaughtered the town's people? the Dust I know wouldn't give up and I know he hasn't given up now, no matter how bad he's hurt. right Dust?" he called out to me. I growled slightly and shakily tried to give up when he stepped on my back again, keeping me from getting up.

-"Dust!" Robin called and immediately got up to help when two wolves pinned her down and she started struggling with them to get up. but before I could do anything or move, I heard a growl and a sudden yelp then I felt his foot lifted off my back in a sudden move that made me turn to look. Alpha Liam was on the ground with a fairy muscular wolf on his who has tackled him down. the wolf was grey with streaks of white mostly over his head and tail but even in one look I could recognize Alpha Henry's kind blue eyes.

In a flash, the fight was back on and I could hear all the growls again. two wolves tackled Alpha Henry off Alpha Liam as he got up growling. I gathered all my strength an got on my knees again I headed towards the wolves that were holding Robin down and bit one on the neck. it howled and let go of Robin which gave her the opportunity to kick the other wolf and get up while I was fighting with my last strength with the wolf.

Alpha Liam didn't hesitate to turn into his wolf form then. his wolf was a silver one and I couldn't help but notice that his fur was trimmed and washed. the two wolves let go of Alpha Henry with the point of Alpha Liam and came towards us as Alpha Henry and Liam got into a fight. the wolves approached us dangerously as I realized Robin didn't have her bow and couldn't do anything so I got in front of her and growled at the wolves but with the amount of injuries, I couldn't hold them back for long alone. but suddenly, I saw Alex ran in front of me, growling furiously at the wolves and then attacked the closest one. I followed behind him and attacked another one.

Alex had three wolves attacking him and I had two. I gathered up all my energy and attacked one, biting his neck and he started howling. the other went went straight for mine but got stopped with an arrow that flew straight to its chest. it whimpered and fell on the ground, struggling with pain. the one I was biting it's neck started wresting me to push me off but I pinned him down, holding him until he gave in. I looked up to see Alex had also taken care of his rival and the other two had fallen down with arrows in their bodies.

For one second, I thought it was all going to be ok. one golden second, it all seemed to be going where it should have. one golden second, ruined by a howl. a howl of pure pain and misery that came from behind me and gave me goosebumps.

I turned around to see Alpha Henry on the ground with Alpha Liam standing over him with fury and panting. I was frozen but Alex was the first to react. he ran past me growling towards Liam, tackling him down and even from the distant, I could see the anger and violence when he was fighting with Liam I ran forward to help him but their fight was too hard and rough that I couldn't get in. instead I ran towards Alpha Henry and rolled him over towards myself.

Finally at one point, the struggle stopped and a couple of seconds later, I heard Alex's howl of anger. it was so loud and powerful that alarmed every wolf in the area and once again, the field became quiet as the war stopped, for good this time. I turned head to see Alex topping over the dead body of Alpha Liam, panting and blood dripping from his mouth. he took a look at me and shifted to his human form, running towards me and Alpha Henry. he kneeled beside him, panting and holding Alpha's wolf body. he looked at me scared and I avoided his gaze.

-"No." he said. "No no no no no!" he raised his voice holding him tight. "No no Dad! please no! no!" he yelled out. I looked at him, kneeling on the ground with his messy blonde hair and blood on the side of his head and shifted to my human form, wrapping an arm around him.

-"I-I'm sorry Alex..." I said. that was all I could say.

-"D-Dust, dad's dead... our dad's gone..." he managed to say, trying to hold back tears as his eyes watered. I couldn't say anything but to keep my arm around him. but before long, I saw Matt's black wolf running toward us as he shifted to human when he got close to us.

-"Dust, Alex! it's Elsa! you gotta help! she's really injured!" he said between his panting. I jumped up worried.

-"Elsa!? where is she?" I asked.

-"Just down there! we gotta get her to a hospital!"

-"Come on Alex!" I told him.

-"B-but what about dad?" he asked, still in a state of shock.

-"I'll stay with him." Robin said, approaching. I suddenly realized I had no idea if she was ok. I looked at her and she shared a small, reassuring smile. I nodded and helped Alex up.

-"Where exactly is she?" I asked Matt.

-"Down there by the willow tree. I set her down to come get you. come I'll show you."

-"No you stay here. everyone's confused right now and I wanna know how many wolves are injured or dead. Alpha Liam's wolves are still there and no matter if he's dead, they may still be loyal to him. I need someone in charge here."

-"But..." he said trailing off.

-"But what?" I asked. he looked at me then at the willow tree and then back at me again.

-"Nothing. go ahead I'll stay." he said.

I nodded and shifted to my wolf along with Alex and ran towards the willow tree and just hoping that she wasn't too badly hurt.
