Dust

We ran through the woods towards the mansion. I was ahead with Elsa on my back and Alex following after me with a short distance. I ran as fast as I could to get her to the house and then, a hospital. she was majorly hurt and was barely breathing when we found her. we ran faster, making our way through the woods and snow.

I saw the mansion getting closer to us from afar and it made me run even faster. as soon as we got to mansion, I placed her on the stairs and transformed to my human form.

-"Alex! run inside and get the car keys! and hurry!" I said and he obeyed, running inside. I turned towards Elsa, who was still in her wolf form. "Elsa, please listen to me. you have to try and transform. I can't take you in hospital like this."

She looked up at me painfully and shut them again.

-"Elsa please! just try so we can help you!" I said again. she looked up at me again and gulped closing her eyes and transforming. the next second, she was laying down in her human form. she was still wearing her grey coat but it was dirty and the left sleeve was ripped from the shoulder. she had a bright red scar on cheek and bite mark on her neck and shoulder. her blonde hair was messy and covering half of her pale face and she seemed to be breathing hard. I looked down to see a rather large blood stain on her chest. I held her until Alex ran out of home holding the keys.

-"You drive! I'll stay with her!" Alex said, throwing me the keys.

-"But you drive better!"

-"I don't care! I wanna be with her! I can't let her go!" he said, picking her up and carrying her on his arms in the back seat of the car while I ran for the driver's seat.

I drove as fast as I could through the town while Alex held Elsa close to him and rested her head on his lap. I don't know how I managed to control the car and get us to the hospital with crashing into something but I did. we rushed her to the ER as soon as we got to the hospital and they took her in the surgery room.

-"What happened to her?" a nurse approached about forty minutes later, asking us.

-"Car crash." I said the first thing that came to my mind.

-"Is she gonna be ok?" Alex asked.

-"There's a lot of damage. we made sure there's no internal bleeding or serious injuries inside the body. a couple of her ribs are broken and possibly her right arm. she also has a huge... something that seems like a bite mark on her shoulder and chest that cause a lot of bleeding. are you sure she had an accident? cause it seemed like something attacked her." she asked, looking up at us.

-"I'll take it from here Sally." a voice answered before we could say anything and we saw Doctor Stinson approaching in his white coat and tie.

-"Um... yes Doctor." nurse Sally said and walked away slowly. Doctor waited until she was far enough then looked at us.

-"What the hell happened to her?" he asked.

-"She was in the battle and got hurt really bad." Alex answered.

-"The battle? you mean..."

-"Yes. Alpha Liam did attack us and we did stop him." I answered.

-"Jesus Christ. is everyone ok? Henry?" he asked. we both stayed silent. he looked at us for a couple of seconds before guessing the answer and took his glasses off. "I don't believe it... Henry's..." he said and put his glasses back on as we both stayed silent. "is anyone else hurt?"

-"A lot I'm sure. we had to leave them to get Elsa here. they're all on that lake in the woods."

-"I'll handle this. I'll take two of my best interns there with me. I wish I could do more but those two are the only werewolves in my team."

-"Anything helps really. we can't complain."

-"You can see Elsa if you want. although we gave her some painkillers so she'll fall asleep soon."

-"Yes we wanna see her." Alex said, taking a step forward.

-"Then follow me. also you should consider cleaning yourselves up a bit too. you're not exactly in the best situation." he said and me and Alex looked at each other as if for the first time. Alex had a scar on the side of his head and there was dried blood all over the side of his face and a scratch mark over his neck that disappeared under his clothes. I couldn't see myself but I was sure I was a mess. the scratches on my chest and shoulder hurt more than ever and I was sure I was bleeding and was limping when I had to walk.

We followed Dr. Stinson through the hall to a room and walked in after him to find Elsa laying on the hospital bed with changed clothes and and looked a little better.

-"Elsa!" me and Alex both called and headed towards her.

-"She's not gonna stay awake for long but she'll be fine. she's a tough one alright. I'm gonna head to the lake and you should do the same, after all you are now in charge of the pack. and don't worry, I'll take care of the hospital paperwork."

-"Ok thanks doc." I said cause Alex was too busy examining Elsa. he nodded and closed the door behind him.

-"How are you Elsa?" I approached, looking at her.

-"Better now... at least it's all over now." she said.

-"I was so worried! there's no way I'm letting you out of my sight again!" Alex said.

-"Hold your horses Alex, I'm alright."

-"We're really glad you're ok." I said and she looked at me.

-"Dust? where's Robin?" she asked.

-"She's fine. she stayed behind to help others. we just rushed you here as fast as we could."

She looked at me before turning her head towards Alex. smiling a little.

-"I'm really fine Alex but I need to talk to Dust alone, so could you please...?" she asked. Alex looked at her strange and then looked at me.

-"Sure....I guess?" he said before slowly turning back and out of the room. I looked at her and approached her a little, standing by her bed.

-"You... want to talk to me?" I asked. "about what?"

She looked at me and sighed.

-"I... I wanted to apologize." she said.

-"Apologize?" I asked, confused. "for what?"

-"For... everything. everything that I did."

-"I... still don't get it."

-"I'm the reason you suffered all those times. didn't you ever wonder why I befriended Robin in the first place?"

-"Well yeah I guess... we all did." I said, looking at her.

-"I...overheard you the other day in the office, when you were telling Alex that you found your mate. it wasn't hard to find a girl with that description in town and befriend her. I invited her to the Christmas party because I was hoping she would find out about you being a werewolf and get away from you. I really tried to make her get away from you but I sort of stopped after you started seeing her."

I froze, shocked of what I was hearing. I couldn't believed it but I knew it was true.

-"...Why?" I asked slowly. she looked away ashamed. "I said why? why didn't you want her to be with me?"

-"Cause... I wanted to be!" she said, looking at me with watery eyes. "I liked you and I wanted to be with you... not like a sister. that's why I always say you're my step brother and not brother cause I want to make myself feel better and reminding you that we're not actually brother and sister. I liked you since we were kids and I always struggled with myself for it cause, well you were my brother even though your weren't related with us. we grew up and I was hoping, just hoping you feel the same and we could be mates. but we both turned eighteen and we touched and nothing happened! I was disappointed so I got myself busy with other stuff and hoped one day you'd feel like me and want to be with me. but then Robin showed up and I didn't want you to be with anyone but me so I did all those stuff." at this point tears started streaming down her cheek."

"I was jealous of her cause she had you and I didn't but I couldn't do anything. then I saw you and her and I saw you actually liked this girl and... and I couldn't do anything anymore but to watch you go away.... but I'm sorry Dust, I'm really sorry." she said, sobbing now.

I looked at her, unsure of what to do or say but out of instinct, I sat down on her bed and held her hand and wrapped an arm around her.

-"It's...it's ok. I mean it's not ok but it's gonna be. I understand and I'm sorry... I can't believe I never found this out. if I knew I would have helped you. but the thing is, I'm not going away. I'm here for you when you need me. I'm your brother... well step-brother but I'm still here for you more than ever. I love you so much..." I said. she sniffled smiling a little.

-"Brother... brother sounds better. I'm over that whole thing. you're my brother. nothing else." she said and rested her head on my chest. "Dust?" she asked after a minute.

-"Yeah?" I replied.

-"Why did the doctor say we're in charge of the pack now?"

-"I uh... well..." I looked away, not being able to talk. I couldn't tell her about it specially in this situation. "I should be getting back..." I said getting up. "Alex! come in please." I called out.

-"Dust..." Elsa said before Alex opening the door and walking in with Matt.

-"What? what are you doing here? who's looking after the pack?" I asked him.

-"Don't worry, Ignis is in charge." he said.

-"Dust..." Elsa said.

-"I should be going Alex. they probably need my help over there."

-"Wait I should-"

-"Dust! Alex! What's going on?" she yelled, making us shut up. "what did he mean when he said we're in charge of pack now? Where's dad?" she said. none of said anything. "Where.Is.Dad?" she asked again.

-"Elsa... dad is..." Alex trailed off.

She didn't need him to finish his sentence. her eyes watered again and a tear rolled down her cheek before bursting into tears. me and Alex looked at each other and I could see he was no better. he walked over to Elsa and sat on her bed, holding her head. I followed her and sat on the other side of bed and wrapped an arm around her and Alex. she was crying hardly on Alex's shoulder and Alex was only sniffling. I looked up to see Matt standing awkwardly with his hands in his pockets and looking down. I kisses her head getting up.

-"I um... I should be going. come on Matt." I said.

-"Wait Dust!" Alex said and dried his eyes. "I-I should be coming too. I-I guess I'm the Alpha now." he said between Elsa's sobs.

-"Well you can stay." Alex said, still holding Elsa close.

-"But I'm your Beta I'm gonna need to come. besides, I should see how Robin and Ignis are doing."

-"I can stay." Matt said and we turned to look at him. "I mean... if you want."

I looked at him and then at Alex and then back at him agin.

-"I guess that's ok. come on Alex." I said and waited for him to break his hug with Elsa and walked towards me. "keep an eye on her will you? she's hurt." I said to Matt.

-"I will. don't worry." he replied and I walked out of them room and headed to take care of the pack.
