Chapter 14: Marked

Thankfully our protagonist was saved by a Yokai by the name of Yuki-Onna. She originally intended to only bring the male back to his home so she could keep him alive for longer as she preferred playing with her future prey and tormenting them. However, she underestimated how pathetic Y/n was as the male somehow, even with his human strength, managed to pull the Yokai into a tight embrace under the covers. For you see Y/n always had an affinity for the cold ever since a kid so naturally he was drawn to the cold touch of the female Yokai. Afterward, the male and the Yokai had breakfast together as a show of Y/n's gratitude for her saving his life. However, eating wasn't the only thing they did, they also engaged in a lot of flirting. What will they do now? Will Y/n encounter any more Yokai? Read to find out!

Y/n pov:

Yuki didn't spend much time with me after we finished up our breakfast, even though she had quite a flirtatious attitude, she was still very shy, and as quick as she finished the breakfast, the woman disappeared leaving no trace of her presence as if she had never even been here in my cabin.

The only thing that she left before disappearing into the snow-filled forests was some wet footprints all over the ground.

"I hope I get to see her again..." I whispered to myself as I couldn't help but remember our conversation from earlier.

However, my line of thought quickly changed as I remembered that due to my preparing quite a feast of breakfast earlier, my pantry was depleted of its contents which meant that I was left with nothing to cook for lunch or dinner.

"Damn it, now I gotta step outside again..." I muttered to myself, slightly frustrated due to my initial plans of staying inside all day and lazing around doing nothing.

The entire summary of my early teenage years.

Nevertheless, even with how frustrated I was, this did allow me to be able to do some souvenir shopping for Toshio and the family back home. Plus since there weren't any ingredients in my pantry to be able to make food, I didn't have much of a choice in the matter. I knew I had to go shopping or else I'd starve.

'The illusion of choice,' I thought to myself grabbing my winter coat and my wallet.

Stepping outside of my door, I was hit with the cold from the never-ending fall of snow. I was never going to get used to how cold this place was, it was as if I stepped foot on the coldest planet in the solar system, Jupiter.

'I've to remind myself never to go outside without protective clothing' I thought to myself, shivering due to the immense cold that I felt.

I soon found some insulation, however, as my face began to heat when I reminisced about what Yuki had said earlier, the suggestiveness of her actions, and the way she flirted with me.

Even though she was a Yokai who could manipulate snow and ice, she made me feel hotter than I've ever felt. The way she licked her fingers distracted me as I continued waking with the images of her flashing in my mind.

I had to concentrate now though.

I had finally arrived at the market and despite what you'd think with here being such a cold and ravenous place, it was a bustling and crowded marketplace, populated by many vendors who had stalls selling every and any kind of items. It was easy to get overwhelmed due to the sheer variety.

However, I already knew what I wanted.

I knew I had to pick up some souvenirs, this was my golden opportunity. Scanning the marketplace, I quickly picked up on the fact that most things being sold were at a steal of a price, perhaps it was because everything was produced and manufactured in this little village of theirs. I quickly bought some Furikake which had the designs of anime characters on them which were just the cutest. Afterward, I bought some paper fans which were adorned with the designs of flowers and trees. To finish off, I bought a wide assortment of manga that I found bundled up for a deal.

"I haven't even spent 20 bucks yet~" I excitedly noted to myself, as I had saved a lot of money.

I wasn't going to disclose that, however.

"Now to purchase some ingredients..." I said to myself looking around as I tried to locate a stall that had all the things I needed.

However, I spotted something that instantly garnered my attention. Rather, someone. It was a woman in a wheelchair with multiple bags in her hand but what was curious about her was the fact that the entire bottom half of her body was hidden by some clothing as if she didn't want anyone to see there. If that wasn't strange enough, it seemed like everyone was avoiding her, and even though we were far apart, I felt an imminent sense of danger radiating off of her.

It was as if my gut was telling me to stay away from her.

"Do you need any help, ma'am?" I asked walking up to her, I simply couldn't let myself not help her in any way.

"Yes, thank you. Can you help me get up these mountains? I live in one of the shrines at the top but as you can see I'm in no position to get there myself" She explained strangely, her tone came off very animalistic.

'Like a hiss...' I thought to myself.

Ignoring how strange I found her tone to be, I began escorting her up the mountains. Thankfully, she'd offered to hold my bag for me as I pushed her wheelchair. I was freezing, however, the higher I traversed, the colder it got which made me shiver. Strangely, it didn't seem as if she was affected at all by the cold, instead, her only expression was that of a relaxed smile.

"You need not worry, we're getting close~" She explained yet again, I couldn't avoid the fact that it was as if she was hissing.

As per her word though, we soon arrived at the shrine. It was straight out of a movie or an anime, I was never a particularly religious person, but I knew if I was, this would be the kind of place I'd love. However, the statues found in this Shrine weren't of your typical Japanese gods such as Amaterasu or Izanagi. Instead, the statues were of the Japanese God of serpents, Ryujin.

"May I know the name of the kind boy who helped me?" The woman inquired.

"I'm Y/n L/n..." I answered shivering due to the cold, "And what's yours?" I asked looking down.

"Come a little closer so I can whisper it to you. As a shrine maiden, I'm not supposed to tell anyone my name but you can consider it my way of saying thanks~" She explained as I shivered due to her tone but I leaned down etching too close to her.

"You can call me Hebi~" she exclaimed before grabbing me by the shoulders and pressing her fangs into my neck.

Due to how numb I felt because of the freezing temperature, I didn't feel much pain. On the contrary, however, I felt a great sense of pleasure, as strangely I couldn't help but moan loudly as a result. Suddenly, I felt her get up from the chair and push me onto the ground, oddly enough I didn't feel any kind of pain upon impact, as I knew I hadn't landed on the ground. Looking up, I got a good look at her as my eyes widened at what I saw.

Her upper body was that of a regular human woman she was very beautiful, however, her lower body was that of a large serpent, I could tell that her tail had halted me from landing on the cold hard ground. I was scared, but I had a strange feeling that she wasn't going to hurt me.

"W-what are you going to do to me?" I asked as the bite mark that she had given me hard miraculously healed but it hadn't disappeared.

"Don't worry Y/n, we're going to have so much fun together~" I watched as she licked her lips, her eyes glowing red. "I can already tell that the Yuki-onna got to you first. But I won't let her take you away from me because guess what~?" She asked bringing her face close to mine as I stared into her red glowing eyes.

"W-what?" I asked shivering in fear.

"I'm in heat~" she revealed as my eyes widened, she was looking at me like I was some kind of defenseless animal.

It honestly turned me on.

I knew I had to escape though, as somehow I managed to slither (pun intended) myself free of her grasp as I had deduced that since she wasn't going to kill me, her grip wouldn't be too strong. I began darting my way away from her as she initially began to chase me down but stopped midway.

"Don't worry Y/n, you'll always belong to me~" I heard her announce as she chuckled which sent shivers down my spine.

I ignored what she said as I felt fearful for my life and even though I was freezing, I had to get to safety. Upon seeing the outline of the market, I began to speed up, and not watching where I was going I ended up bumping into someone, making them drop their bags.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to..." I explained as I caught my breath, moving to pick up the bags.

"Y/n?" I heard the person call out and I immediately remembered it to be the woman from the train.

"Funny meeting you here, huh" I chuckled embarrassedly as I wiped the back of my neck to try to compose myself.

"I can tell you're a busy one, huh? Why don't you come to my place, you must be hungry" she asked.

"I can't..." I responded not wanting to bother her as my body betrayed me, my stomach grumbling.

"Is that so?" She asked as we both knew she'd heard that.

For the second time today, I felt my gut telling me not to go with this person. But after what had just happened, I was hungry, confused and since I had lost all that I had previously purchased, I felt dejected. So I made up my mind, I was going to do what any rational person would do in this situation given the context.

"Fine..."

This is the 14th chapter of my story, I hope you enjoyed it!

I really wanted to diversify the story due to all of the female roster having a relatively human body, and a few readers requested this so I hope you enjoyed it!

See you on the next one!
