They came, they saw, they met and they conquered...

Meet Bella, a 15-year old girl, who falls in love with Martin, a 16-yr old teenager, only to learn the true meaning of love.

Bella had been to a cousin's wedding after being bed-ridden for 3 months, in a life-threatening accident that had her left leg almost amputated. After an operation that went on for hours, the surgeons saved her leg but gave up on her ever walking normally again and leading a normal life. Defying all odds she walked, to the surprise of many and pride of a few.

Martin had been diagnosed with a cataract in both his eyes and only an operation could save his sight. As much as he wanted his normal vision back, he was terrified of the impending operation and had no one with whom he could share his thoughts, his true feelings. His siblings laughed at his fear and childish behavior. 

Though having known each other briefly in family dinners, Bella and Martin actually met for the first time at a common cousin's wedding. With no interest in small talk and no book in sight, she was bored with the gossip flowing around, longing desperately for a way to escape the function. A visit to the washroom and she slipped away unnoticed to the terrace. At the other end, Martin was having a hard time listening to all the horror stories of operations gone wrong, mean doctors. His confidence dipped to an all-time low. Leaving silently for a breath of fresh air [and to clear his head], he came across Bella sitting quietly on a terrace-bench. 

Their eyes met and the feeling was electric. It was as if they had known each other for years, even though they had just met. Bella gestured Martin to sit, which he willingly did. Both of them started talking at the same time, laughing at their own craziness, awkwardness. 
That night a bond, a love-pure, innocent was formed.

They met continuously for the next seven nights- same time, same place. It was as if they couldn't get enough of each other's company. He told her all his fears, his misgivings, and his future plans in case his operation wasn't successful. She told him about herself and her fight against herself and the world- when it had given up on her. The way she forced herself to walk, willed her leg, her body to obey her command. And the excruciating pain that she had to endure with the high doses of medications. She was labelled stubborn, crazy for trying to walk when the best doctors had given up. 

On the last night together, they promised to keep in touch. But life had other plans for them. With new confidence, Martin had a successful cataract operation, resulting in normal vision and Bella found her calling as a nurse in another city. They never met afterwards, moving on with their daily lives. But they cherished those selfless love days forever in their hearts.
