"You have a visitor."

Hoseok sat up from his small bed as the guard led someone to the gate of his cell, wondering how Taehyung had gotten out so early.

Yoongi stood there and offered a small wave.

"Yoongi..." Hoseok was stunned. "You...really came?"

"I promised I would." Yoongi said. He stood a foot away from the gate, which Hoseok understood.

"Thank you." The cop was appreciative. "You didn't have to."

"I know." Yoongi was looking at the floor. "I wanted to."

"Why?"

Yoongi shrugged.

It was silent for a while as they both gathered their thoughts.

"I'm trying to forgive you." Yoongi said finally.

Hoseok shook his head quickly. "Don't. I don't deserve it."

"Maybe, maybe not. But I don't want to harbor hatred. Last time I got fixated on something that happened in the past, I almost got everyone I cared about killed."

He glanced up at the former cop. "I just...wanted to come see you...but I don't know what to say."

"That's fine." Hoseok smiled. "You don't have to say anything. Just seeing you is a blessing for me."

"How long will you be in here?"

"Ten years. Might get out sooner on good behavior but I want to serve my full sentence."

Yoongi nodded, and they fell silent again.

"I should get back to the hospital. Jungkook might be waking up soon."

"I understand. I hope everything is okay with him."

Yoongi dug into his pocket, pulling out a small yellow flower he had picked before coming over.

"Here."

He held it out between the bars.

Hoseok took it gently, holding the stem tightly in his hand.

"I don't know when I'll be able to come visit again, but I'll try to be back before that wilts."

Hoseok smiled. "I love you."

"I know." Yoongi backed away.

He hurried down the hall running back to freedom.

"But I don't know if I'll ever be able to say that back."

-

"He's awake!" Yoongi burst excitedly into the mens bathroom, dragging Seokjin away from the sink.

"Wait- Yoongi!" Seokjin gasped, dripping water down the hallway as Yoongi pushed him to Jungkook's room. "I haven't dried my hands yet!"

"He's awake!" Yoongi didn't care, just shoved him into the room.

Jungkook was sitting up in the bed, looking tired and confused, but he was awake.

"Kook..." Seokjin breathed, heart skipping a beat to see his baby brother.

Jungkook had changed. His hair was a little longer, and his eyes seemed older, no longer holding the childlike innocence.

"Koo's Jinnie..." Jungkook stared, before breaking into a big grin. He held his arms out for them, and his brothers rushed to fall into them. "Yoonie!"

His voice was deeper, like how he had spoken whenever he was repeating sentences from that night. His normal voice.

Overnight, Jungkook had grown up.

They were all crying as they hugged, taking ages to finally part.

"How do you feel?" Seokjin whispered, brushing the boys hair back.

"Tired...weird..." Jungkook admitted. He looked down at his hands, like he couldn't believe they were his own. "But...good. I feel like...me."

Yoongi kissed his cheek. "We missed you."

Jungkook smiled bashfully, happy to be back to himself after twelve long years. He looked around the room. "Where's Joon?"

Seokjin looked away.

"He's at the house." Yoongi said. "Speaking of, we should get back there soon. Jimin will be there any minute."

Seokjin wanted to avoid that whole scene, but Jungkook was insisting that he wanted to finally go home, and the eldest crumbled.

He kissed Jungkook's forehead.

"I told you I will always be there for you, Jinnie's Koo."

Jungkook hugged him tightly.

"I know. You never fail me, Koo's Jinnie."

-

Namjoon's heart spiked when the front door opened, but it was just the others returning home.

He sighed in relief and rushed over.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked the youngest.

Jungkook hugged him tightly, blush covering his cheeks as he felt Namjoon's toned body against his own.

He knew Namjoon and Seokjin were soulmates, but that didn't mean he was going to stop idolizing the boy.

"I'm good." Jungkook smiled as he pulled back. "Now I can finally watch the adult cartoons that come on after midnight that Jin never let me watch."

"And you still never will!" Seokjin kicked him lightly. "Yah! I don't care if you a hundred years old- those shows are gross!"

Yoongi chuckled. "You'll always be our baby, Goo."

And that was just fine with Jungkook.

A knock at the door made them all freeze.

"Jungkook, go upstairs." Seokjin murmured.

"But-"

"Now. Please." Seokjin pushed him towards the stairs.

Jungkook knew what this was about, he had been briefed at the hospital about what Namjoon did. But the youngest didn't believe it. His idol could never kill anyone.

He climbed up the stairs but hid behind the wall, listening as Yoongi answered the door.

"Hey." Jimin stood there, hands in his pockets. "Mind if I come in?"

Yoongi wanted to say no and slam the door, but he knew he was lucky as hell that Jimin wasn't arresting him too for aiding a murderer.

He stepped back and let the detective step in.

Seokjin sat on the couch, looking out the window as Jimin approached the student.

Namjoon stood up straight, ready to accept what was coming.

"Kim Namjoon." Jimin's steely gaze pierced Namjoon's deep brown eyes.

Here it was. 'You're under arrest for the murders of three people.'

"I need your help."

"Huh?" Yoongi gasped, speaking for all of them.

Seokjin whipped his head around, staring in shock when Jimin didn't produce handcuffs.

"My...help?" Namjoon was confused.

Jimin nodded. "To catch a killer."

Namjoon's mouth opened slightly, but no words came out.

"What killer?" Yoongi asked.

"The campus killer." Jimin smiled.

The three were all shocked into silence again.

Jimin chuckled at their reactions, relaxing back on the chair. "Let me explain. Back when Hoseok was first hospitalized after the station attack, I visited him and asked to take over the campus killer case for him. He agreed, and I read over all the files and pictures of the case. The autopsy report came in, and I found out something very interesting. All three victims had been poisoned as their cause of death. The stabbing had occurred after they were already dead."

He looked up at a stunned Namjoon.

"You didn't kill anyone, kid. But I need your help to find out who did."

"I knew it!" Jungkook raced down the stairs, tackling the student in a hug. "I knew you never killed anyone! I knew it!"

"But...but..." Seokjin stammered, slowly rising from the couch. "They found his blood at the crime scene. He admitted to killing them."

"Because he thought he did." Jimin was pleased he had surprised them with this news. It was like a reward for all his hard work.

"It was always dark..." Namjoon stared at nothing. "I thought they were sleeping...I just went up to them and stabbed them, yanking the knife down their fronts and then hurrying away. I thought the reason they never screamed or woke up was because I killed them too fast for a reaction. I never studied them before or after...I just...I accidentally cut myself once...I didn't even realize until I got home."

"You should be charged with attempted murder." Jimin said as he stood up. "But I'm willing to waive that away if you help me find the real killer."

Yoongi grinned as he stood beside Namjoon.

"I can tell you from past experience, detective, he's got a solid record of catching killers."

"You too." Jimin faced him. "If you had never conducted your own investigation, there would be one more killer on the streets. I want both of you to help me out on this case. I think we would make a great team."

He held out his hand, laying it palm down in front of the two students.

"So boys, do we have a deal?"

Yoongi slapped his hand over the detective's eagerly. "Deal!"

Namjoon came out of his frozen state and laid his hand over Yoongi's.

"Deal. I don't want to hurt anyone anymore, and I want to catch whoever did this."

Seokjin placed his hand over Namjoon's smiling warmly at his soulmate.

"I'm in too. You two aren't leaving me out on another investigation."

Namjoon smiled back, warmth flooding through him as Seokjin forgave him.

Jungkook slapped his hand on top, giggling with childlike excitement.

"Me too! Me too!"

With renewed spirits, they all threw their hands in the air, and a new era was born.
