"Wow, you look amazing." Hoseok smiled when Yoongi answered the door.

Yoongi looked down at himself. He was wearing black skinny jeans that were ripped at the knees and a red hoodie of Seokjins that was a little too big for him.

"Liar." Yoongi laughed.

"Gi! Who there?" Jungkook called.

"Just a friend, Guk." Yoongi called back.

"Aw, just a friend?" Hoseok pouted.

Before Yoongi could answer, Seokjin walked up.

"And you are?" He asked, crossing his arms at the cop.

"Jung Hoseok, nice to meet you." Hoseok offered his hand out.

"What do you do?" Seokjin ignored the hand.

"I'm a cop, and I work security at Yoongi's campus." Hoseok said. "That's how we met."

"Don't give him the third degree," Yoongi rolled his eyes, embarrassed. "We're just getting dinner."

"Where at?" Seokjin looked distrustfully at the newcomer.

"That new Italian place that opened up on the corner of Main and 100th street." Hoseok answered. "You're welcome to join us."

"I have to stay here with Kook." Seokjin shook his head. "Just bring Yoongi back by nine."

"Seokjin!" Yoongi sighed. "I'm an adult! I don't have a curfew!"

"Actually, you still do, although the law says it's one a.m. instead of nine." Hoseok said.

Seokjin grinned, warming up to the new boy. "Ten o'clock then, no later."

Hoseok gave him a salute. "Cops honor."

Yoongi grumbled, grabbing Hoseok's hand and pulling him down the driveway to his car.

Seokjin watched them drive away, before shutting the door.

"Well, Goo, it's just us tonight. Should we finger paint?"

Jungkook gasped. "Yes! Yes! Finger paint with Jinnie!"

Seokjin smiled as he walked over.

Yoongi was in good hands tonight.

The hostess sat them at a red, plush booth in the back, by the windows. The room was lit by dim lighting, and a candle flickered on the red tablecloth.

"This place is fancy." Yoongi said, feeling uncomfortable. "I feel underdressed."

"Nonsense, you look great." Hoseok opened his menu.

Yoongi did as well and frowned when he saw the prices of things. "This place is expensive!"

"It's fine, Yoongles." Hoseok assured him. "I'm paying."

Yoongi wanted to argue, even though he couldn't afford this place on his own, but Hoseok changed the topic before he could.

"How's school going?"

"Boring and lame and dumb." Yoongi sighed. "I don't want to be a doctor."

"But you'll save lives and make a lot of money." Hoseok said. "What's better than that?"

"Music saves lives too." Yoongi said, crossing his arms. "But Seokjin won't let me switch majors."

"I'm sorry, Yoongles. I wish I could help you." Hoseok said, looking genuinely sad.

Yoongi looked at him with a smile. "It's fine, not your problem. What about you? You save lives too."

"Not lately." Hoseok sighed. "I assume you know about the serial killer on the loose here in town?"

Yoongi never watched the news because he didn't like all the negativity there. "No, what?"

Hoseok stared. "How do you not know?"

Yoongi shrugged, sipping his water.

"Yeah, the first body was found in an alley last week. The person was stabbed in the abdomen with what we think was a large kitchen knife based on the cleanness of the cut. The knife was yanked down before ripped out and the homeless lady died within seconds, as you can imagine." Hoseok looked up. "Should we really be talking about this before we eat?"

"Doesn't bother me." Yoongi said. "How many victims are there?"

"Three, as of right now. The second was another homeless man, same cause of death. We upped the security in alleys and in places where homeless people hang out, but yesterday another body was found, tossed in a dumpster."

"No evidence yet?" Yoongi asked.

"No DNA was found at the scene, and no one saw anything. All we have to go off of is that this person clearly hates homeless people, so they might be thinking they're doing the town a favor by getting rid of them." Hoseok sighed. "Street cleaner."

Yoongi made a face. "But if that's the case, why doesn't he or she just take a gun and mow down the whole hangout place? Why go one at a time?"

"Maybe they don't have access to a gun, or they prefer to be up close with their victims." Hoseok said. "We've warned the community so everyone should be on high alert."

He reached across the table and took Yoongi's hand. "Especially you. I can't always be at the campus to protect you or write you notes."

Yoongi smiled. "I can handle myself, Hobi."

"I know you can, but better safe than sorry."

"Seokjin would kill the guy you're looking for if he even looked in my general direction." Yoongi laughed. "I'll be fine."

"Just promise me you'll be extra careful." Hoseok pressed. "This guy has a steady hand and knows what he's doing. Or she. Just because they only attack homeless people doesn't mean they won't kill students too. They might just be honing their skills before moving up to higher risk targets."

Yoongi just smiled.

"Trust me, Hobi. I'll be just fine."
