When Hoseok woke up, he was no longer in the shack, but handcuffed to a hospital cot.
Kai was standing guard, and he shook his head in disappointment.
"How could you?" The cop asked. "You got the chief killed and helped a killer cover his tracks. What in this universe was worth breaking the oath you took to serve and protect?"
Hoseok looked out the window, at the rain running down the glass.
"Yoongi..."

After being questioned and treated, the boys were finally allowed to go back home. Except for Jungkook, whose complaints of a headache kept escalating, until the staff ran an MRI and discovered rapid cell growth in his brain.
"He has brain cancer?" Yoongi's eyes had widened in shock when he first heard the news.
"No, its new cell growth, not cells duplicating." The doctor was quick to reassure him. "Our theory is that since he's no longer taking the medication that stunted this growth, his brain is now finally free to grow up. His body physically is a teenager, and now mentally he can finally be one too."
They put him in a medically induced to coma to help Jungkook cope with the pain, and to help his body recuperate.
"It's okay." Namjoon squeezed Yoongi's shoulder. "He'll wake up. And when he does, he'll be Jeon Jungkook. Not a baby."
Yoongi never thought this day would come.
Sure, Jungkook was going to need a lot of therapy to help him mentally, but they could all go together. Jungkook could go to school and get a girlfriend and get accepted to college and drive a car and drink alcohol- all the grown up things Yoongi never imagined he would ever get to do.
He would have smiled if he wasn't crying so hard, sobbing into Seokjin's shoulder.
The oldest hadn't said much since he woke up, still processing all the bombshells from the confrontation in the shed.
Namjoon had stayed away, keeping to himself in Yoongi's basement while the two Min's never left Jungkook's side at the hospital.
He hadn't heard the front door open, so when he went up the stairs to make a late dinner, he was surprised to see Seokjin coming home.
"Oh-" He froze in place. "You're...home..."
"Well I live here, so," Seokjin turned away from him and entered the kitchen.
Namjoon hated how awkward it was, timidly following behind the boy.
Seokjin pulled out some fruit and granola bars. "I'm just grabbing some supplies and then heading back to the hospital."
"How's Jungkook?" Namjoon asked.
"Fine. The doctors said he's strong and responding well to the new treatments. He should wake up sometime this week." Seokjin shut the fridge door and didn't make eye contact as he passed Namjoon.
"Wait," Namjoon grabbed Seokjin's arm.
Seokjin flinched and pulled back quickly.
Namjoon felt like he had just been stabbed in the heart.
"I'm sorry." He whispered.
"For what?" Seokjin flared. "Murdering those innocent homeless people? For lying to me? For you and Yoongi investigating while keeping me in the dark about everything? Sorry you got caught?"
"Everything. For hurting you." Tears gathered in Namjoon's eyes, threatening to spill. "I love you Jin, I could never do anything to harm you, I swear."
Seokjin looked away. "I can't trust you anymore. How am I supposed to love someone who hurts others for no reason? Why would the universe make someone like you my soulmate?"
"I'm sorry." Was all Namjoon could say. "Jimin's coming tomorrow. Says he wants to talk, but I know he's just coming over to arrest me."
Seokjin said nothing, just looked away.
"I'm not going to run or fight." Namjoon continued. "I did bad things and I need to pay my dues. I just ask...will you visit me? Just once?"
"I can't promise anything." Seokjin whispered. He back away, hurrying to the front door and quickly leaving.
Namjoon stood alone in the house, wondering if it was possible for soulmates to break up.
He brought his wrist up, seeing the pink S was still there.
Was it his imagination or did it look fainter?

Taehyung sat in a holding cell, hands cuffed to the table as he waited for his lawyer to come back with the good news.
He didn't have to wait long, Jyehun was always quick.
"Well?" The doctor raised an eyebrow.
"I spoke to the judge, asked for a quick arraignment instead of a full trial. With how backlogged the whole system is with cases, he agreed. We were able to throw out the confession, and therefor the murder charge. The cop agreed to plead guilty to the station break in and take full credit in return for a reduced sentence, so you were cleared on that attack as well."
"And the kidnapping and attempted murder?" Taehyung pressed.
"The judge agreed no jail time in exchange for you giving up your right to practice medicine for tampering with the kids meds." Jyehun leaned back in his chair.
"That's fine, no one was going to book me anymore anyways. And besides, I still have all the knowledge." Taehyung chuckled.
"The judge wouldn't dismiss or throw out the other charges." Jyehun informed him. "However, he said he was willing to negotiate. Five years for each charge if you plead guilty, with the possibility of parole and early release if you're on good behavior."
"How many charges is he still pinning on me?"
"Obstruction of justice for conspiring with that cop, the abduction of Kim Seokjin, assault and non consensual drug use. I was able to convince him there was no way you could be convicted of attempted murder since all they had to go on was the illegal recording Min Yoongi took."
"Fifteen years." Taehyung mused.
"It'll be less than that." Jyehun promised him. "I have important people who owe me favors, and you're an attractive, high standing doctor with many merits. I bet seven years. Maximum."
Taehyung chuckled. "You forget I was an actor first, Jye."
The doctor leaned back in his chair, a content smirk on his face.
"With my good behavior, I'll be out in five."
