Hoseok woke up with a yawn, still feeling tired after the sedatives the nurse had given him to help him sleep.

He nearly had a heart attack when he saw the person standing in his room- the heart rate monitor spiking.

Jimin smiled. "Sorry, you were asleep when I came in, I didn't want to wake you."

Hoseok settled back down when he recognized the detective. "Oh, you're okay. What can I help you with?"

"Actually," the detective took a seat beside the cot. "I came over to ask you that."

"Oh?"

"You should take a break after this attack. I know you're okay, but that's just physically. You could have died that night, and that takes some time to mentally sort through and address. Let me take over the campus killer case, it'll be a load off your shoulders." Jimin encouraged.

Hoseok frowned. "It's unusual for a detective to take over a metro case."

"This is an unusual circumstance."

Hoseok nodded. "I guess. I mean, I couldn't ask you to do that, it's a lot of work with no leads. Why would you want to take it?"

Jimin smiled, crossing his hands over his knee. "I wouldn't say the case has no leads. I just want to help out and put a killer away."

Hoseok shrugged. "Sure, if you want it, I'll sign the papers over to you as soon as I'm out tomorrow. You can get the case file tonight, I'll send Kai a text to let him know."

"Thank you." Jimin stood up and placed his hand on the cops shoulder. "Just focus on healing, I'll take care of the murders."

Hoseok smiled as Jimin walked away. "You're too kind, Park Jimin."

Kind wasn't a word Jimin would use to describe himself.
