Seokjin's heart thudded in his chest as Namjoon cupped his cheeks, tilting his head slightly as he leaned in.
Their lips connected, starting slow but the kiss quickly built up passion as their destiny unfolded.
He grabbed Namjoon's hands, holding them tightly as the kiss deepened, feeling connected to the student in a way he had never felt before, like they shared a soul.
Riiing!
Ripped out of his fantasy, Seokjin pulled back.
"Ignore it." Namjoon leaned in to kiss him again, but Seokjin stepped back, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
"I can't, it's Dr. Kim." Seokjin frowned, immediately worried for his baby brother.
Namjoon understood and hugged the boy from behind as Seokjin answered the phone, bringing it to his ear.
"Hello, Dr. Kim?"
Namjoon could vaguely hear what the doctor was saying, although it was tinny through the small speaker, and he wondered if that voice was slightly familiar.
"Yoongi? He's not home yet, why?" Seokjin questioned as Namjoon kissed up his neck, sucking on a spot at his base. "Jungkook...wait...he what? Rope?! No- are you serious?"
"What's wrong?" Namjoon pulled back.
Seokjin's eyes were wide, staring in disbelief. "Yoongi...why would he do that...? Yes...I understand. thank you for telling me. Is he okay?"
Namjoon heard a car pulling up in the driveway as Seokjin hung up, looking over to see the door opening as Yoongi stepped inside.
Seokjin glared. "What the hell were you thinking?"
Yoongi sighed, knowing Taehyung had snitched on him. "Jin, look, it's a long story-"
"You fucking tied Jungkook up and didn't give him his medication?!" Seokjin snapped. "What were you trying to accomplish? What the hell is wrong with you lately?"
"I-" Yoongi started, and then he saw the forming bruise on his brothers neck, and the way Namjoon was standing right behind him.
He connected the pieces together in his head and his eyes shot open wide.
"Did you just give my brother a hickey?!"
Now Seokjin was suddenly the one on the hot seat, and he looked away.
"Yoongi...I was trying to tell you-"
"What the hell?" Yoongi hissed, storming up to shove Namjoon. "I wanted your help for the project, I didn't ask you over to fuck my brother!"
"Yoongi!" Seokjin's cheeks flared red. "Don't talk like that! We didn't even-" He couldn't finish that sentence.
"Get out." Yoongi snapped, enraged. "Get the hell out of my house!" He pushed Namjoon again, who barely even budged.
Before Namjoon could defend himself, Seokjin pushed his way between them. "Yoongi- stop it. Go to your room and calm down. You can come out when you're ready to talk things out respectfully."
"You can't ground me." Yoongi spat. "You're not my mom."
"Listen to him." Namjoon said. "He's just trying to help."
"Don't act like you're my new dad." Yoongi seethed.
"Yoongi-"
Yoongi shoved past them, storming up the stairs to his room, where he slammed the door shut.
Seokjin sighed, falling onto the couch as he pressed a hand to his forehead. "I'm losing him..."
Namjoon sat beside him, rubbing the boys shoulder comfortingly. "He's just going through a tough time right now, and we certainly didn't help by dropping this on him so suddenly. It was just bad timing."
"What was he thinking?" Seokjin huffed. "He could have really hurt Jungkook by doing all that."
"Yoongi loves Jungkook. He would never want to hurt him. I think that whatever he was trying to accomplish, he was just trying to help Jungkook." Namjoon comforted.
Seokjin sighed and leaned against him. "Namjoon...be honest with me...what's the project you two are working on?"
Namjoon was silent, leaning in to kiss the pretty boy's temple.
"That's something you have to ask Yoongi."

Yoongi laid down on his bed, face buried in the pillow he was squeezing tightly as tears leaked out from his closed eyes.
It felt like everyone in his life was leaving him behind, or isolating from him.
Seokjin was moving on and getting himself a boyfriend, Namjoon never cared about finding his parents killer in the first place and now clearly had other priorities, Taehyung had yelled at him, Hoseok was injured because of him, poor Jungkook was broken.
He felt alone and scared and wanted his mom to comfort him, hugging him tightly while his dad encouraged him, telling him how loved and appreciated he was.
He only wanted to catch a killer, and yet he seemed to be the bad guy instead.
A soft knock at his door.
Yoongi sniffed and went still as he heard the door open.
Footsteps walked over to his bed, and he felt a weight sit down beside him.
A hand reached out, running up and down his back.
"Yoongi..." Seokjin murmured. "I'm sorry."
Yoongi turned his head slightly, peeking out at his older brother.
"I wanted to tell you as soon as I found out. I didn't want to drop this on you so suddenly, and I'm sorry that's how it happened. You have feelings too and they're all valid. Can we talk?"
Yoongi sighed, sitting up, still clutching the pillow tightly.
Seokjin smiled at him. "Hey."
Yoongi looked at the boys hands. "What is it?"
Seokjin flipped his arms over, showing Yoongi the small blue N on his inner wrist.
Yoongi reached out and traced his finger over it. "Did it hurt?"
"No." Seokjin chuckled. "Just tingled."
"When?"
"The night we went and got pizza. We kissed and then...it just appeared."
"Does he make you happy?" Yoongi questioned, still running his finger over the mark.
"Very." Seokjin grew warm at just the thought of Namjoon. "He's really kind and caring, and knows just the right things to say."
Yoongi knew a different side of Namjoon, but he didn't think the killer would ever hurt Seokjin, especially if they were soulmates.
He couldn't tell his brother the truth about Namjoon- Seokjin would be horrified and push him away, and he deserved something happy after all the shit that had happened in his life.
He didn't like lying or keeping things from his brother, but telling the truth would cause a lot of harm, and Yoongi had done enough of that already.
"I want you to be happy." He mumbled, scooting over a little.
Seokjin wrapped his arms around him, hugging Yoongi tightly. "Thank you, Gi. I want you to be happy too. I wish you would tell me what's going on, I want to help you."
"It's better if you stay out of it." Yoongi said. "I can tell you everything when it's over."
"Are you in some kind of trouble? You need to tell me if you are."
"No, I'm okay. It's just...a lot to handle."
Seokjin sighed, knowing Yoongi wouldn't tell him anything. "Just be careful. Let Namjoon help you out a lot. And don't mess with Jungkook anymore. We don't know what's wrong and trying stuff out could make things worse. It's not worth it."
Yoongi just held him tightly.
-
Namjoon listened from outside the door, arms crossed as he leaned against the wall.
Seokjin made him happy too, and Namjoon hardened his resolve to catch whoever murdered his soulmates parents.
The only killer allowed around here was him, and he wasn't going to let a detective get in his way.
