"Ugh, why do you do these things, Min Yoongi?" Seokjin muttered for the billionth time in his life, stepping over the pile of dirty clothes Yoongi had just left in the middle of the hallway for some reason, checking the time as he did so.

It was half past two, so the middle child should still be in class.

Seokjin had today off, so Jungkook had stayed with him today instead of going to Dr. Kim's.

Yoongi had better be home on time so they could all spend some time together with Jungkook. Seokjin felt it was extremely important for Jungkook to have at least one day with his family giving him all their attention. They would have fun together and help the youngest with his brain exercises and it would almost be like they didn't need their parents to be happy.

He scooped up the clothing and dumped them in the washer, turning it on and hurrying back to the living room, where Jungkook was eating cut up fruit from his lunchbox on the floor, his long legs curled up under a blanket as he stared wide eyed at the cartoon that was playing.

Seokjin hummed happily when he saw his youngest brother, warm and safe, and relaxed a little.

He sat on the couch and pulled another blanket over himself. He grabbed a book he had checked out from the library last week and opened it up. He was only halfway through it so far and he hoped he could finish it before he had to return it.

Jungkook crawled up beside him, squishing himself between his brother and the couch cushions. He yawned, nuzzling his head into Seokjins side, pulling the fleece yellow blanket up to his chin. "What Jinnie reading?"

"A book." Seokjin turned a page with one hand, his other reaching down to play with Jungkook's freshly washed hair. It still smelled like the apple scented shampoo Seokjin had used and the sweet scent of Honeycrisp filled the space around them.

Jungkook closed his eyes, hugging Seokjin. "Can read story to Kookie?"

The book wasn't a children's story, but Seokjin made one up on the spot, turning the page every now and then for effect.

Jungkook yawned, falling asleep to the story about a bunny and soon, he was out.

Seokjin was tired himself and fell asleep not long after.

Soon Yoongi would be home and they could all enjoy a nice evening together.

-

Seokjin woke up suddenly, and immediately noticed the house was colder than it was before he fell asleep.

It was dark out too, and his heart dropped.

Jungkook was still asleep at his side, and Seokjin wrapped an arm around him protectively as he fumbled for his phone, searching in his pocket.

It was eleven at night already.

Seokjin swore under his breath as he struggled to sit up, pulling the blanket over Jungkook.

He heard the door open and looked up to see Yoongi finally coming home, kicking his shoes off in the foyer.

"Yoongi!" Seokjin hissed, storming over.

Yoongi glanced up. "Sup?"

Seokjin grabbed the boys collar and shoved him against the wall. "Where the hell were you?! Did you forget we were supposed to spend the evening with Jungkook tonight?"

Yoongi winced. "Shit, I'm sor-"

"Oh, fucking save it." Seokjin snapped, letting him go. "I don't even care where you go after classes, because I know you're not studying in the library like you've told me in the past. Dr. Kim said it's essential for us to help Jungkook and all I asked for was one evening a week, and you can't even do that?" He shook his head.

Yoongi glared. "Ever thought that maybe I'm doing something more important than helping Jungkook?"

"There's nothing more important than helping Jungkook." Seokjin hissed.

Yoongi looked away. "There's more than one way to help somebody, Jin."

"Just go to bed." Seokjin walked back to the couch and scooped up Jungkook.

Yoongi hurried over. "I'll help-"

"I said go to bed!" Seokjin yanked his arms away before Yoongi could grab Jungkook. He stormed up the stairs, slamming a door shut behind him and Yoongi winced.

He did feel bad he had forgotten about tonight, because he truly did love Jungkook. But he had something important going on right now and couldn't afford to split his time.

Seokjin didn't believe any foul play was involved in their parents deaths, and Jungkook was too young to understand any of it.

It was up to Yoongi to solve it and avenge his parents.

Him and Namjoon.
