Soup Pot
Song of the chapter: This is gonna be good.
If the Ugbo forest raiders were able to run away from Moremi, the Queen Warrior, then no one could blame Niyi from running like a scared chicken when Sewa lunged after him.
Panting and huffing, Niyi thrust his legs forward, running as fast as he could. It was a really comic scene for the onlookers. A woman pursuing a man who was also pursued by another man. They could barely determine if the pursued man was a criminal or an innocent victim.
Elijah called to Sewa running behind her. Sewa yelled for Niyi to stop running. Niyi, terrified for his life, didn't stop. Bike riders rode their bikes out of the way, throwing curses his way.
Seeing the men's public toilet, he ran in and locked himself in a toilet stall gasping and trying to calm himself. How can a small woman terrify him so? He heard running feet come in the restroom.
“Come out, you bastard,” he heard her yell. She actually came into the men's bathroom? Is she crazy?
“Sewa,” he heard a familiar voice shout as another stomping feet ran in.
“Get your friend out for me!” She barked, “Don't touch me for goodness' sake.”
Niyi ran his hands in his short hair wondering what he was going to do. Elijah is out there with that crazy woman. How was he ever going to escape her grasp?
“Niyi, come out. Let's settle this once and for all,” he heard his friend plead.
“So that idiot's name is Niyi. He doesn't deserve such a good name. They should have named him bastard.”
“Niyi, come out.”
“If he doesn't come out, I'm going to break down the doors of each stall.”
“Niyi!”
Reluctant, Niyi unlocked the door and slowly stepped out. The crazy woman lunged for him again but Elijah quickly wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her back. Niyi pressed his back against the wall petrified. How can a woman be this scary? Her innocent face is so deceiving.
“Let go of me, Elijah or else,” she warned.
“Calm down. Let's settle this amicably,” Elijah pleaded.
She forced her way out of his arms and cried, “Calm down? Calm down? How can you tell me to calm down? For three years, I worked day and night for my dreams to come true and he,” she pointed at Niyi with disdain, “ruined it in a day.”
“Look,” Niyi began, “I didn't know it was that important to you-”
“Of course, you wouldn't. You know nothing about hardwork when all you know is to steal.”
“I'm sorry, okay? I will repay you back,” he promised.
“With what? Another stolen money?”
“Does it even matter where I got the money from?”
“Yes, it does!”
“All right, all right. I have a new job where Elijah works. I promise by the end of the month I will give you back your money. All of it.”
“How do I know I should trust a thief?”
“You trust Elijah, don't you?”
She looked to Elijah dead in the eye and said, “No, I don't.”
“I didn't even know he stole your money,” Elijah argued.
“I don't care if you did,” she snapped. “Im giving you back the money you gave for my release and you two better find a way to clear my name or else.”
“Or else what?”
She took some steps closer to Niyi and said, “I will haunt you for the rest of your life.” She sauntered out the restroom leaving the two men sighing in relief.
“When did she become so scary?” Niyi heard his friend mutter.
“How can you be in love with a crazy woman?”
“You made her go crazy! I've lost any chance I've got with her,” Elijah bemoaned. “We better get back to work.”
Niyi followed behind his friend out of the restroom only to met by a scowling Sewa. They both jumped and cried in terror while she watched. They put some distance between her and them and walked slowly away.
“Wait,” they heard her bark.
What now? Niyi thought as the men came to a stop.
They waited for her to continue. She marched over to Niyi and stared into his eyes. Unnerved, Niyi darted his eyes about. It wasn't until he felt a sharp pain as her leg collided with his groin that he looked into her eyes and saw the satisfaction in them. She knocked his head again as he bent over, writhing in pain. Elijah crouched beside him, worried.
“No one messes with Sewa Ade,” she said. Her black flats were the last he saw of her as she walked away.
I hope he lost one of his balls, Sewa thought to herself.
She wasn't going to rely on them paying her back her money but she was still going to get it either way. What rubbish is that? Was it because she is a woman that they thought she could be played around with?
Well, she was Sewa Ade and nobody's toy. Now that's she has threatened them, she wasn't sure of what to do. Seeing their terrified expression gave her a satisfaction she's never had before. Perhaps this was how the Nigerian government felt anything they threatened the people with their power and money. While it was a disgusting comparison, Sewa had a silly grin on her face for the rest of the day.
Hey guys, sorry for the late update.
