Recap - Aruns entry

ARJUNS POV

I walked to the balcony and stared outside. The night breeze touched my face. I felt better. I don't know why.. for the past few days I've been feeling uneasy. Is it Workload or something else?

Ms. Aarohi seemed to be lost in another world with her friend. When I questioned Nivi About Arun I came to know that he came from Australia to meet her. And they've been friends from childhood. Nivi , sort of started to like his presence around her. He visits Aarohi every alternate evenings here. And spends time with Nivi. I don't why but his presence irks me.

The communication between me and Ms. Aarohi had dwindled. We talk in monosyllables and she has adopted this - talk - only - when - needed method. It's getting on my nerves now..After all I'm her boss. She keeps herself busy with Arun and Nivi.

I closed my eyes and breathed in fresh air. Nivi haven't failed to remind me that I've changed so much. But I haven't. Even though Keeping Aarohis words in my mind I'm trying my best to be open and free with Nivi. The ghosts of the past are playing behind me and watching me sinking into earth.

When I felt better my eyes fell on the standing figure of Aarohi , alone in the deserted road. Why didn't she go? I walked down , to the road.

"Ms. Aarohi?"

She turned towards me

"why are you standing here? "I asked

"Actually my scooty is not in a favourable condition and Arun couldn't turn up today. So I was waiting for a taxi."she said

"Hmm..we have a meeting with verma companies. Hope you'll be there tomorrow morning"I said making her grit her teeth. I can sense her irritation

"Sure Mr. Arjun. Im not a Alzheimer's patient. I remember"she said making me glare.

This girls gets on my nerves all the Time!

"Fine" I walked away from her.

I heard her stomping her feet. What does she expect from Me?  And Why should I care about her ?

I stopped in my tracks when i realised that it is night and it's not at all safe for her to travel alone. Yet my ego isn't letting me offer a help to her. I turned back and saw her rushing towards me. She came to me with heavy breath

"Are you okay?"I asked

" Mr. Arjun.. Can you please drop me? It's urgent"she said hurriedly.

"Ms. Aarohi..you.."

"Please Mr. Arjun..its urgent"she pleaded. I noticed her eyes filling up.

"Wait here. I'll get the keys"

I rushed upstairs and grabbed the keys. Thankfully Nivi was already asleep. I locked the door and walked towards the car. I slipped into the drivers seat and she sat besides me. I drove the car silently. She kept looking outside the window. After a while I broke the silence

"Are you okay?"

"Yes.."she nodded without looking at me. I'm sure that she's worried about something. But I didn't botherto ask. She seemed to be tensed.

She gestured me with the directions and finally we reached her home.
She rushed outside without even thanking me. I mentally smacked myself for helping her. What does she thinks about herself?

I reversed my car and then my eyes fell on her phone lying in the seat. I took it in my hands. I parked my car outside and opened the gate.. The house is neither too big nor too small. But I could make out that so many people are living here.

The board outside read : HAPPY HOMES☺

I wondered if she's really staying here. There was no calling Bell outside so I walked in , since the door was open 

I saw a middle aged girl , sitting in the vast hall arranging her books. She seemed to be engrossed in her work and She failed to notice me. I walked to her

" excuse me.. "

She looked up at me and got up from her chair.

"yes sir.. How can I help you..?"she smiled at me.

"Actually I  came to see Ms. Aarohi.. She.. "i stopped when she interrupted me

"Ohh.. you came to see Angel? "She asked making me confuse. Angel?  How did this devil became an Angel for them? I shrugged it off

"I'm not sure....Angel.?"i asked

"Can I know your name? "She asked instead

" I'm Arjun devanand"i said for which she gasped

"Oh... So you are Mr. Arrogant right? "She asked making me grit my teeth. Damn it Aarohi.!

"Oops.. I'm sorry Mr. Arjun.My name is Divya..and I live here. Angel just walked inside. "She said

"Hm..Ms. Aarohi left her phone in my car so..."i gave the phone to her. Before she could take it from me , few boys gathered around us.

"Hey.. Look..Angels phone"one of  them shouted

"I will give it her"another boy screamed

"No..I will"another one said

"Angel..Loves me more..so I will give"

"No.."they shouted together.

Finally divya snatched the phone from them.

"Sh..Don't shout. This uncle itself will give the phone to her. Okay?"divya asked for which the kids nodded , obediently and dispersed.

"Sir. It's better you yourself give this to her. Else The kids will eat my ears"she said. I nodded with a smile.

"I'll show the way" she gestured me.

I looked around and wondered why Aarohi is staying here. It's not an orphanage. Yet it had so many rooms. I could spot many elders in each room. They looked so happy.

"See..Angel is there" Divya said and I was startled

I saw Aarohi coming outside a room with a small baby in her arms. She looked at the baby with a bright smile and gently kissed the baby's forehead. My eyes bored into hers.

"See Amma.. Now stop crying.. Sumi is all fine.. Now look at our new small family member" Aarohi patted the baby. An elderly woman , got up wiping her tears. Aarohi gave the baby to the woman and smiled. Many kids surrounded them to get a glimpse of the baby.

"See..your new little sister" Aarohi smiled and the kids clapped happily. They shouted and unknowingly my lips curved into a smile. It warmed my heart strings. All my problems vanished at the sight.

I looked at Divya and saw her in tears. She looked at me and smiled

"Sumi was thrown outside from her house by her drunkard husband along with her mother in law. She was heavily pregnant and they didn't have any relatives. Angel Brought them here and gave them a new hope in their lives. "She smiled.

Unknowingly my eyes filled up too. I looked at Aarohi and found her smiling widely.

The kids climbed on her and kissed her cheeks.

"Angel is a ray of hope for us. When she's around..we are happy and safe. The kids won't leave her for a single second when she's around. We love her too much and so does she.."

I stood there , gazing at Aarohi. Recalling Divyas words.

"Please come sir" Divya walked ahead and I nodded , wiping my tears.

"Thank god Angel you came.. Sumi was  dying in pain and she wanted you to be around her"Divya said to Aarohi. She placed a small kiss on the baby's forehead

"It's okay.. Darling. I'm here right" Aarohi smiled

"I have a surprise for you" Divya said and Aarohi raised her eyebrows. She failed to notice me. Divya pointed her fingers towards me and Aarohi looked at me wide eyed

I gave her a faint Smile when she walked to me.

"Mr. Arjun.?  What are you doing here? "she asked surprised

"You forgot your phone Ms. Aarohi.. "i gave the phone to her

"Oh.. Thank you so much"she smiled

"Good night.I need to go."

She nodded

"Good night Mr. Arjun.."

I nodded and walked outside. When I stopped and looked back at her , i saw her smiling at me. She recovered quickly and raised her eyebrows. I shook my head and walked outside.

Certains situations in life helps to lessen the pain and Mine was this one. Aarohi.
