TO BE LOVED
:: xxii, i've put a spell on you
The next morning, after the engagement party, Chrissy woke up annoyed and angry. Those emotions spurred because she watched Jennifer and Thomas the rest of the night and saw that there was something there. She didn't like it one bit and she was definitely going to let Thomas know that.
She got out the bed and didn't care to wash up yet or throw on a shirt right then because of bow furious she was. Chrissy just left her room in a bra and shorts, heading downstairs to catch him before he left out anywhere because he was still off the case. She found him in the kitchen making breakfast.
"Good morning." Thomas smiled her way, as she stood near their entrance of the kitchen.
"Is it?"
Thomas placed the spatula down, "What's the matter?"
Her arms were crossed, leaning against the wall, "Why don't you tell me, Mr. Byers."
"Nothing comes to mind." He shrugged.
"I'm only going to ask you this once." She approached him, "What's going on with you and agent jareau? Are you fucking her?"
"No." He immediately protested, "Chris, i would not do that to you. What's going on?"
"You may not be fucking her, but there's something there and you're going to tell me what it is." She stood in front of him, waiting for him to answer.
He deeply sighed, "There are feelings but I've been working on that for you ——— for us."
Chrissy let out an angry chuckle as shook her head, "You've got to be fucking with me." She turned around, her back facing him, "Fuck!"
Thomas approached her, placing his hand on her bare shoulder, "Hey, listen to me. I'm gonna ——— "
She immediately faced him, "No. You listen very carefully. You will tell her there's nothing there. Nothing. That or you and i are done. Your choice." Chrissy then headed out the kitchen and went back up to the bedroom to finally began getting ready for the day.
Thomas knew what he wanted. He didn't have to wait or hesitate. With his decision already in mind, he grabbed his keys off the counter and proceeded to hop in the car to the BAU.

After parking in the garage, he went up the elevator to the sixth floor where his team resided. He knew it was unprofessional but he wasn't keene to drama. That was the last thing he wanted.
He walked through those glass doors and stood near the entrance, his eyes scanning the room and then landing on the conference room, noticing the team in there with Strauss. Soon his eyes connected with Hotch and he quickly looked away, not wanting to deal with that right then.
However, agent Anderson was walking by and Thomas gripped his shoulder, forcing him his way.
"Could you get agent jareau for me?" Thomas practically whispered.
Anderson nodded before going off to the conference room. Thomas watched as he knocked on the door and it was soon opened. He watched jennifer and Grant have their little chat before the door closed and soon jennifer was on her way to Thomas.
Once she reached him, she instructed him to follow her to her old office when she was a liaison. As soon as they walked through the door, jj closed it behind the two of them.
"What's going on?" Jj began, "If you're here for an update, there's nothing new yet."
He shook his head, "No. I have something to say and it can't wait." Thomas continues with a heavy sigh, "We'll never be together. Ever. I don't have feelings for you anymore and you should get back with Will. He's a good guy."
"You don't mean that . . "
"Look in my eyes and tell me if im lying. You're a profiler, so profile me." Another deep sigh escaped his lips, "I'm sorry, but I love Chrissy."
Thomas then walked passed her, heading towards the door. As soon as he gripped the knob, jj called out.
"Tom . . . "
His back faced her, "See you at the wedding."
He proceeded to exit the room and then began his way to the elevator to exit the building.
Of course it crushed him to do this but he didn't want to lose the only person who genuinely loves him. He feels if he blows it up with Chrissy, he would never find this type of love again because he never experienced it before.
He knows Jennifer likes him and has feelings but he wasn't going to risk what he had with Chrissy if it wasn't love.
And for Jennifer, at least on her end, he just wasn't sure.

Instead of going back to the house, Thomas went to see his brother at the apartment he left behind. After parking the car on the curb, he headed into the building complex and rode the elevator up to the correct floor.
As soon as he got off, he walked to the door and knocked. His reason for being there was a bit confusing because he wasn't sure why he was standing there. He contemplated as he waited and thought hard, but came up short.
Sooo the door swung open and there stood Dean in only his boxers.
"Did I come at a bad time?"
Dean glanced down, noting himself in just his underwear, "No, no. Don't worry about it. Come on in." Thomas walked on in and Dean closed the door behind him, "Your room is still here. Didn't do anything to it."
"How come?" Thomas faced his brother.
Dean shrugged, "Cause it's your place still even though I pay rent now. I mean, you left so abruptly."
Thomas' tone softened more, "Yeah. Am I making a good decision?"
"You're asking the wrong person that but to me, no ———— no, I think you're making a bad decision." Dean continued, "You're moving way too fast with everything and you can barely take a breather to sit down and really think about your life choices. Be honest with me, what's it all about?"
His jaw clenched, "I love her, Dean. That's what it's about. With this type of love, you don't want it to slip through your fingers, you don't want to wait another day."
"Correct me if im wrong, but you didn't fall in love with her till after you proposed." Dean shrugged, "I thought it was supposed to be the other way around."
"Yeah, alright, Dean." Thomas made his way to the door, "I came for advice and all you're doing is badgering me because I didn't stick to tradition of how it was supposed to go down." He opened the door, "But whatever."
"I'm just looking out for you!"
"Huh ———— alright." Thomas closed the door behind him and then proceeded back to the elevator.
After pressing the down button and waiting, the elevator doors opened and Thomas stepped in. He then pressed the lobby button and waited as the elevator began heading downward.
Soon it dinged open and he walked out, heading back to the car. Once he exited the through those double doors and approached his car, he noticed a folded up piece of paper stuck in his windshields.
Thomas pulled it out and unfolded the paper.
His eyes scanned every word and he wasn't sure what to make of it.
Get out while you still can.
