MR. FIVE YEARS

Gabriel's eyes snap open. His throat was aching and it hurt to move. He can barely react when a blood bag is shoved into his mouth and he begins eagerly sucking it dry. It takes three more blood bags before he can even speak. "Bonnie." He rasps in surprise as he looks around the old and damp warehouse. He notices Freya rushing around vigorously mixing ingredients together as he attempts to stable himself. His eyes widen as he sees a tiny blonde head of hair passed out on top of another coffin. "Is that.."

Bonnie grabs both of his arms as he attempts to stand. "She's okay! But Caroline and Hayley need your help. They're fighting a lot of old vampires in another part of the warehouse to keep them from getting to your family here."

Gabriel's eyes slightly flash and he nods his head and stands to his feet still slightly disoriented. He pauses for a second attempting to listen to his surroundings, he hears a bunch of grunting and smashing just outside of the room. He gives the back of Lizzie's head one last longing glance before he speeds away.

The first thing he does is rip out the two hearts of the vampires that were teaming up on Caroline before moving toward Hayley's werewolf form and ripping the head off of one that was on top of her.

Both women pause, Hayley transforms back into her human form and Caroline is quick to throw her her jacket as they watch in awe as the man they had missed so dearly shreds a part every vampire in the vicinity.

"Gabriel." Caroline breathes out in shock. She didn't know how she would feel when she finally got to see him again, she was angry for a long, long time. Angry that he kept the hex a secret from everyone and took himself away from her and her daughter for five long years. But right now, she was just relieved to see him standing in front of her.

When the remaining attackers are either dealt with or seemed to have run away he finally stops. The moment it's safe Caroline smashes her lips into his own, he grabs her by the waist and smushes her body against his own as much as he can trying to convey in his actions that he would never let her go again.

He pulls away much to her dismay and they lock eyes feeling an overwhelming amount of emotions.

He turns his head feeling eyes on him and opens his arms for Hayley who launches herself into his arms next. Caroline softly smiles at the two, she trusted Gabriel more than anyone else in the world and after spending five years alone with Hayley and no Mikaelsons she quickly became someone she relied on as well. She knew deep down there would always be some feelings between the two because of the soulmate situation but soulmates could also become platonic.

"You're okay." Hayley takes a deep breath. "You're not hexed anymore."

"You two saved my family." Gabriel smiles genuinely at the two amazed by the two women in front of him. His eyes shift to Caroline and become slightly anxious. "Lizzie..."

Caroline beams. "She's amazing Gabriel." She peers at Hayley. "They both are. They both made us promise to get their families back."

Gabriel looks down to the ground smiling at the thought. "There's only Niklaus left."

Currently all of the siblings, Caroline, and Hayley were sitting near a road by the woods while the Mikaelson's replenished their strength. Bonnie had taken Lizzie home knowing the girl was exhausted and Gabriel and Caroline wanted her no where near New Orleans when they took Klaus back.

Caroline rolls her eyes as Kol lets another one of his victims scream at the top of his lungs.

"Good lord, that one has some lungs on him. He should've been an opera singer. Might've ended better for him, actually." Rebekah purses her lips.

Freya looks tired of her sibling's behavior. "Is this absolutely necessary?"

"That depends. Do you want us at our full strength, or do you plan on rescuing Nik on your own?" Rebekah snarks.

"Well, death rattles are distracting, and I'm trying to break a cloaking spell." The witch snaps.

"Kol!" Gabriel groans, when the mans screams halt less than a moment later he huffs. "Thank you, continue Freya."

"I can sense. Klaus is still in New Orleans. Most likely somewhere underground. I can't get a read on exactly where, unless I'm in the city itself." Freya sighs.

"Yeah. That's gonna be a problem. I have contacts in New Orleans. As you can imagine, the place is crawling with vampires, all of whom hate all of us. Whatever we do, we need to do it fast." Hayley tucks her phone back into her pocket as she relays the information to the group.

"Well, I wasn't planning on a pub crawl. I don't want to stay any longer than we have to. But we need to go."

Kol holds his hands up in disbelief. "Whoa. Wait... Wait, we're not doing this today?"

Rebekah scoffs. "Hasn't Nik suffered enough?"

"Yes. And I've died. Twice. I'm not about to give Marcel a shot at a third. Now, I say, we draw that Muppet out of town. And when he's gone..." Kol is interrupted by Gabriel. "I have been away from my daughter long enough, and so has Nik."

"If you're afraid..." Hayley trails off in annoyance.

"It's called being sensible. Until Freya can make enough cure with her werewolf hostage, Marcel can basically chew through our bloody throats." Kol tries to get them to see his reasoning.

"We free Nik today." Gabriel stares his brother down, letting him know he wasn't allowed to run from this one. "While you all were living in a nice chambre de chasse these past five years Nik and I suffered endless torment alone. I don't want to hear you complain again."

As he walks away from the group everyone looks at each other worriedly at his words. They hadn't had much time to think of what his time was like these past five years. Caroline frowns as she watches him.

Hayley, Caroline, Freya, Kol, and Gabriel enter the old bell tower. Rebekah and Elijah had gone to find a distraction for Marcel.

Kol nearly gags. "This is where you absolutely had to do a locator spell?"

"Ah, well, when I first moved to New Orleans, I primed this space. Marked it with my magic, made it mine." Freya explains.

"This dusty bell tower may be your own, but this is Marcel's city, and we're nothing but targets."

"All the more reason to let her get to work. The sooner we find Klaus, the sooner we get out of here." Hayley tells him as Freya cuts her finger to use her blood for the locator spell.

Caroline links her fingers with Gabriel's as they venture a few feet away from the others. "How are you doing?" Caroline questions.

Gabriel looks away not meeting her eyes. "Fine."

"Gabriel." She whispers pleadingly. "I know you can't be fine. You spent five years dying."

"We don't have time to talk about it right this moment Caroline, my brother is still suffering." He removes his hand from her own and walks away as the others pretend they weren't listening. Caroline sighs and nervously bites at her lip.

Gabriel runs up to the barrier, only stopping right before his feet enter the circle. "Niklaus! Freya, you'll have to do it."

Freya places her hands over the invisible barrier and closes her eyes to focus. "This spell is strong. It's been reinforced over time, which means it's going to take time to break."

"We don't have time before he realizes we're here Freya." Gabriel stresses.

"I could try brute force. Overwhelm it. But I'll need someone to channel."

Hayley steps forward. "I'll do it, you keep watch. We're going to need you if he finds us."

Freya takes Hayleys hand and begins to chant as Gabriel nervously paces in front of the barrier.

Caroline stands against the wall staring at Klaus with a frown. He wouldn't open his eyes and he looked to be in pain. Was this what Gabriel felt like?

Gabriel pauses his paces as he hears Marcel above them in the courtyard. Gabriel meets Carolines eyes, looking away as she shakes her head at him. "Freya. Whatever happens you don't stop until my brother is free." He looks at Caroline. "And you. No matter what you hear you take Hayley and run if you need to."

Before she can respond he speeds away stopping just in front of Marcel, blocking his path from entering the tunnels. "Marcellus."

"You know, I wondered what happened to you. You weren't suffering from a bite and yet when I had my witches do locator spells on you sometimes they got a trace and sometimes you disappeared from the face of earth. I wondered why that was. Until I spoke to some of my Strix friends that survived and realized if Caroline was still alive it must have something to do with you." Marcel muses. "Did immortality get boring? Seeing as you're back here."

Gabriel's jaw clenches at the mention of the hex. "I'm here for my brother. My brother has suffered enough. He leaves here today."

"We'll see about that." Marcel smirks. "I'm sure your magic and strength are pretty weakened after five years of dying again and again. You made Klaus' punishment look like heaven."

"Let's test it out, shall we." Gabriel braces himself as Marcel launches at him. Gabriel grunts as he receives a punch to the jaw and just barely pushes Marcel away from him.

He's more prepared the next time the man comes for him and manages to get a few punches in but he wasn't nearly as recuperated as he should have been before taking on the man. But he would do it and he would survive, for his brother.

Suddenly Hayley and Caroline speed in between them.

"Caroline. Hayley. Leave, now." Gabriel demands.

"He's right. This is between me and him." Marcel tells the two seriously.

"And if I stay, you'll kill me, too, make my daughter and Caroline's an orphan?" Hayley snaps at him.

"It's not your fight." Gabriel responds.

"Yes it is." Caroline argues. "Hope needs her father. Lizzie needs her father."

"Yeah? I had Klaus as a father. Davina had Gabriel as a father It didn't turn out so well, did it? Your daughter's are better off without them." Marcel tells the two. Gabriel narrows his eyes at the man feeling a large sting in his chest, there wasn't a moment he didn't think about his first daughter. Especially while he suffered alone for five years, wondering if this was the kind of torment his family had subjected her to. "Take Nik and leave." He orders the two again.

"Oh, he's not going anywhere, Gabriel. And neither are you."

Before the two men can jump on each other again Hayley throws her hands out. "Stop! You win. Okay? We can't beat you. I'm begging you, let us go."

Marcel's face becomes one of rage. "Why? Why!? Because you think that would be justice for your family? They were my family, too. And Elijah tore my heart out and threw me off a bridge. And his brother just stood by and watched. There is only one justice left."

Gabriel sighs out in relief when Nik shows up behind the man and shoves Papa Tunde's blade into the man. "Nik."

Quickly fleeing they all follow the tunnels into the drainage pipes where they meet the rest of their family.

"Hey, you can hug him later. We need to leave." Freya urges.

"Marcel's right behind us. Go. Go!" Hayley shoves them but before they can reach the car Marcel blocks their path.

"Actually i'm right here. You shouldn't have come back. None of you." Marcel points his last words at the two mothers specifically.

"That's what family does. We fight for each other." Hayley tells him.

"Yeah, so I've heard. Though it didn't really work out for me, did it?" Marcel glares.

"Oh, for God's sake, you were never a Mikaelson, get over it. Don't you have a city to run? Vampires to boot out of town?" Kol groans. Gabriel nudges him hard and gives him a glare at the same time Rebekah blocks his path to Kol.

"If you want to kill one of us, you'll have to kill us all." Rebekah declares.

"That's enough. That's enough, Marcel, you've won. New Orleans was our city once. Now it's yours. For good." Klaus softly tells him.

"Is the great Klaus Mikaelson accepting defeat? Or is this all just another distraction?" Marcel sarcastically responds.

" Neither. In fact, despite your appalling behavior, I'm offering you a chance at peace. Attempt to kill us all, and you will be making a mistake. Any who survived would no doubt return to seek revenge, bringing our enemies back to your city in our wake. And even if you did manage to eliminate us all, one day my daughter would come for you. And her daughter after that. On and on for all your days, an endless cycle of violence you will bring upon yourself. Or... Or we leave and we never come back." Klaus tells him.

"You are such a narcissist." Gabriel deadpans. "Marcellus, whether you agree or not I understand what this family has put you through. I promise it's no walk in the park being blood related either okay?"

"After all that time buried in a hole, you still got some nerve. Yeah, well, you stand there with a straight face and try to sell this like it's your choice. But here's the truth. I could kill all of you right now. And tonight, I would sleep like a baby. Hell, that's what you would do. You've destroyed more people, taken more lives, ended more families than anyone who's ever lived. All because you can. But here's the other truth. Despite being raised by you people I am nothing like any of you. In fact, I'm proud as hell I'm not a Mikaelson. I beat you all without turning into you. And now you can live the rest of your lives knowing that the only reason that you exist is because I am showing you mercy. Now go. And don't ever come back." Marcel tells them. Everyone doesn't question it and quickly leaves but Gabriel stays behind a second longer. "She would have been proud of you, Marcellus."

They arrive at the safe house late at night and all look exhausted. Klaus looks at all of his family in front of him"Five years has never felt so long. Thank you for not abandoning me."

"Well, we did consider it. The vote was rather close." Rebekah jokes as she hugs into Gabriel's side. It had been plenty of years even before they were all separated that she was able to do this.

"Are you alright?" Gabriel questions his brother.

"Oh, you mean considering the imprisonment, torture, and forced isolation?" Klaus questions but his face slightly softens. "From what I heard you weren't living much better, brother. Are you okay?"

Gabriel looks around the home at all of the greenery and sighs. "I will be."

"Does this mean you're ready to see your daughters?" Caroline quietly squeals. Not that the wolf would ever admit it, but she and Caroline had been dreaming and fantasizing over this moment for five years now. Both of the Mikaelson men finally reuniting with their daughters. To both of the little girls it was their wildest dream to finally meet both men.

Gabriel and Klaus meet eyes and surprisingly feel the same. "Let them sleep. We have more than enough time now."
