welcome to the playground

"Where you off too pow?" Jayce noticed his pupil walking with a satchel bag around her shoulder as she was wearing her dark overalls with a stripped purple and red halter crop top. She had her steel toe boots on that she wore when she was working on something bigger. Her two braids down her back and goggles on her head.

"Hex, I need to do some stuff tweaked, it's been bothering me since progress day," powder shrugged her bag to adjust it higher.

"It's almost lunch do you wanna grab something to eat before?" Jayce stood at the counter as she walked past him.

"Maybe later but I have it stuck in my head, I'm probably going to be gone for the night too, don't wait up," powder waved with a bright smile.

"Where you going tonight?" He raised a brow.

"Academy, studying up," she kept it simple.

"Alright don't work to hard, maybe tomorrow we could do a little celebrating for my title as councilor?" Jayce hummed leaning back and powder stopped.

"No way! You a council member? A big boss man now," powder ran over and jumped into Jayce's arms.

"Big changes are coming pow pow, just be patient with me okay?" Jayce hugged her back.

"Alright.. just keep an eye on Viktor," powder mumbled against his jacket and let go.

"Always, I'll see you later," powder patted his shoulder and hurried out the door quickly before she was questioned further.

Powder inhaled the fresh air as she stepped outside, reaching down and picking up some dirt and rubbed it over her fingerless gloved hands, and wiped it on her pants. She looked back at her home and nodded firmly making her decision.

Picking out a small bag in her pocket with a box in the bag. She opened it to see the smooth blue hexgem that she in a way stole.  But is it stealing if in a way it was hers.

She put it back in the box, but the big in the small bag, zipping it in her pocket securely. She made her choice.

She had to go help the undercity.

Powder walked down the streets that were clean and the people were politely quiet. She knew how to get back without only taking the bridge. She just had to get to the lanes.

She walked around for an hour finding each spot she knew until she got even closer, where she found a large rain gutter that lead down into the darker parts of the city.

"You're getting awfully close to the undercity, Talis," an accent voice found her and powder groaned.

"Going to narc on me girlscout?" Powder asked.

"Your going?" Caitlyn stood there surprised that she was actually right.

"There's some things I've been thinking about," she looked over the city below them.

"Some things I think are going to be a bigger problem if they're not fixed now," she looked back at Caitlyn.

"My silly theories?"  The violet hair girl asked with a smirk.

"My friend said things have changed, he also told me to stay away cause it's dangerous here, I don't need princess following me," powder nodded sternly.

Caitlyn gasped when she watched powder dropped off the ledge.

Powder slid down the gutter and jumped off  mid to land on a roof. She looked back seeing Caitlyn watching her. She wouldn't follow the girl to the lanes.

"Don't snitch on me," powder huffed to herself and turned to keep going. She ran and jumped down to a fire escape ladder, it detached and started to go down as she held on. Till it got stuck and she leaped back to the other side. Letting her anxiety turn into adrenaline as she ran without a worry she'd fall.

The voices made her run faster.

So she didn't look back to see the faces of those who have haunted her.

She dropped to the ground and found herself in an alleyway.

Welcome home.

Powder narrowed her eyes looking over her shoulder at the grey dark streets full of the ruffians and thugs, that didn't care to rough anyone up if they just looked at them funny.

She kept her chin up, remembering how the older kids would walk so no one would bother them. How vi walked like she owned these streets.

Powder walked with a small sway, not going to fast so she could take it all in again. The smell, the sounds, just how it felt to be where her friends now would never even dare.

"Ekko is going to kill me," powder grinned like it was a joke.

She kept her grey blue eyes ahead when some of the undercity people glanced her way but most lost interest when she passed by. But not all. They found more interest in the satchel.

"Hey babydoll," a man whistled at her from the side. "What's in the bag?"

Powder ignored him knowing it was just for a robbery and fight. She walked ahead but heard him following her.

"If you don't want any trouble you better give a peace offering doll," the grimey man grabbed her shoulder to stop her.

Power placed her gun right under his chin with a sweet smile. He stopped with wide eyes as she kept her eyes on him.

"Only if you don't want any trouble of course," powder forced his chin up when she raised her gun.

He didn't say anything but had anger in his eyes. Powder kept a calm face and pulled her gun back, keeping her finger on the trigger as he backed up more. She scoffed annoyed and went back to her mission to find the Last Drop.

"Who the hell do you thing you are?" The man chased her but a bullet shot at the front of his feet from the side. Powder was just as surprised as he was, she looked at where the shot came from.

"Better keep your distance," powder held her gun up again, looking to the side still, not giving him a second glance. He finally backed off not wanting to lose his life over a bag.

"Girl Scout?" Powders jaw dropped.

Caitlyn held up her rifle looking around as people didn't seem to care to much that she had a gun. She lowered it and folded it smaller to put on her back.

"Are you absolutely insane? You know your not suppose to be here, if you get caught by enforcers-" "you mean the one in front of me?" Powders crossed her arms.

"Gonna arrest me?" She raised her brow.

"I'm not arresting you," Caitlyn took a deep breath.

"Good, cause you probably should head back before your late for your shift," powder tasked shaking her head at the pilty.

"I don't have a shift, I'm not an enforcer according to my mother and sherif," Caitlyn sighed with annoyance.

"They fired you?" She was surprised by that.

"Because of last night my mother doesn't want me in that kind of danger," the older girl hissed.

"So you followed me down here?" Powder asked slowly in sarcasm.

"I'm proving them wrong, you know something down here, I need a guide," Cailyn perked back up with determination.

"I'm not a guide girlscout, I'm following my own lead," the younger girl whined a little.

"Who are you even looking for? Why are You down here in the first place?" Caitlyn questioned. Powder sighed rolling her eyes and started to walk again, makeshift gun in hand.

She stopped quickly and put her foot out for Caitlyn to trip over.

"Hey!" Caitlyn cried out from the dirt road.

"Did you scrap your knee?" Powder smiled. She needed to look less clean. Her clothes were only worn by her, they looked brand new and obviously with more money than half the people in the undercity had.

"Get a little scuffed, you stick out like a sore thumb," powder kicked a little more dirt on her but Caitlyn yelped a little.

"Stop that," she pushed herself up.

"Good, now stay out of my way or go home cait," powder huffed but she was dead serious.

"I'm coming with you," Caitlyn insisted.

Powder pursed her lips then groaned dramatically leaning her head far back.

"Fine, let me do any talking, stay close, and don't look at anyone, 'Kay?" She told her blinking slowly.

"And don't call me powder," she warned.

"What am I to call you then?" Caitlyn walked next to her.

Powder kept her eyes ahead, vivid memories of nicknames and name calling from her past, none were obvious besides pow pow. Her heart sank but only one name come to mind. Powder took a deep breath, shrugging nonchalantly as if it was casual.

"My name is jinx now,"
