Stay
Powder pounded on the kiramman door loudly with the side of her fist and waited with Ekko a few steps back.
"Powder? Dear where have you been?" Tobias, Caitlyn's father, answered the door but his eyes flickered to the boy who was clearly from the undercity.
"Is Caitlyn here?" Powder asked quickly.
"Uh yes.. she's under house arrest for 48 hours, Marcus said she interfered with a case," Tobias sighed shaking his head but powder pushed her way through the door.
"Yoo woo, Girl Scout!" Powder called into the mansion and started heading towards Caitlyn's room knowing where to go.
"Excuse me I'm sorry," Ekko snuck past the man and tried to chase after his friend.
"She's in her room," Tobias confirmed waving them off with a defeated sigh, he got a small confession from his daughter about powder and hers adventure.
Powder swung the door open and saw Caitlyn plotting on the ground with her map extended.
"Powder, Ekko! you're alright!" Caitlyn gasped running to her.
"I'm good, but how the hell did you two split up? You're under house arrest?" Powder pulled her off as Ekko crossed his arms.
"Yea tell her what happened on the bridge," Ekko huffed a little, powder frowned at the tension between them as Caitlyn looked at him wide eyes.
"You both, need to stay far from Marcus, powder you were right," she explained quickly and closed her bedroom door behind them.
"He works for Silco," Ekko moved out of the way.
"Are You a hundred percent sure? I know I had my gut feeling on him but is it a fact?" Powder asked going towards the window and peaked outside.
"I'm sure, he is not to be trusted nor are the other enforcers, they don't understand how their orders from him are detrimental to the cities," Caitlyn nodded firmly but Ekko had his guard up again.
"He shot me," Ekko stated and Caitlyn pursed her lips.
Ekko and Caitlyn walked on the bridge together in silence with his board on his back and cait had her gun on hers. They didn't speak while they traveled together without their mutual.
"Halt!" Suddenly large bright lights blinded them as they got closer to piltover on the bridge. They both covered their eyes they only could make out the enforcers aiming their weapons at the two.
"Sir! I have proof, silcos behind everything," Caitlyn grabbed her badge as she still had her hand up to block the light, she finally could see it was Marcus as the one in charge on this bridge. He pushed the gun down from the enforcer that was closest to them.
"Show me," Marcus walked forward to them.
Caitlyn looked back at Ekko and he frowned not trusting.
"It's to be discussed with the council, it will all be revealed then," Caitlyn nodded firmly. "Powder has the hex gem with her still and-"
"Powder Talis?" Marcus narrowed his eyes.
"Shit, she got back in the undercity?!" He raised his voice and Ekkos eyes widen.
"W-what does that mean..?" Caitlyn's voice was small and confused.
"You should've stayed out of it kiramman," Marcus sighed shaking his head. He looked at Ekko and without a second thought he pulled the trigger of his gun.
Caitlyn gasped horrified when Ekkos body fell back. She was lost for words as she took a few steps back as Marcus held his gun up at her now.
"You should've listened to me," he looked disturbed at the action of killing this girl. She just wanted to do something, find what corrupted them, find who was behind it all. He was like her too once.
"You knew.." she whispered scared for her life.
"I've worked to hard to keep the peace to let you take it down... but if you let this slid, if you walk away and never look back, live your privilege and fancy life, I'll let you live," Marcus almost begged her to not make him pull the trigger again.
"But there needs to be justice," Caitlyn shook her head.
"Kiramman, is this really worth your life?" He gulped and she pursed her lip. She shook her head looking down.
"You are under arrest," Marcus held out his cuffs and Caitlyn accepted it, putting her wrists out for him to detain her.
Marcus looked to the side to deal with Ekkos body, but the boy was gone.
"Shit,"
"You got shot?" Powder asked mortified she didn't notice.
"Bullet proof P," he knocked on his protection vest on his abdomen.
"I'm truly sorry you were put in that danger Ekko, when I saw there was no blood and you escaped I hoped you got somewhere safe," Caitlyn gulped nodding and went to sit on her bed.
"Mhm," he rolled his eyes.
"I told my mother about what I saw, what we want to do," she crossed her legs looking at them.
"About how you want to turn to ignorance?" Powder crossed her arms frowning.
"I've learned to lie powder," Caitlyn smiled smugly.
"She told me to have us plan accordingly, we have an appointment at noon,"
"Thank you, Jayce is on it also, once we get heimerdinger and mel on board that's half of the council," powder nodded hopeful and looked at Ekko.
"We can't let Marcus find you, he'll try to send you to Stillwater," she said worried for his safety.
Ekko looked at Caitlyn but she shook her head to not say anything, he smiled back at powder to seem confident.
"He won't even know what's coming," Ekko shrugged it off and powder smiled softly.
"Ah also about the council... heimerdinger is no longer.. on it," Caitlyn gave the unfortunate news.
"What?" Powders face dropped.
"I don't know the specifics but my mother told me he uh he got voted off.." she squeaked a little as the younger girl blinked.
"That.. that won't stop us, we continue," the younger girl picked the skin around her nails a little.
"they'll listen to know the truth, and if Marcus has been leading everything then they'll have to send another investigation on Silco for what is real," powder rubbed her face frustrated and Ekko noticed her picking at her hairline. Her nails gripping into her hair when she closed her eyes.
"It is the truth," Ekko eased her frustrations.
"We stay out of the way and you stay here till your mom escorts you out so Marcus doesn't try anything," ekko told them both in a calm tone.
"I need a minute," powder rubbed her eye brows trying to fight the cruel things that were going through her head. If one thing went wrong she was done for. It would be all for nothing.
"Please," she whispered leaving the room with her hands in her hair.
Ekko wanted to make sure she was alright but he looked at Caitlyn, they needed to discuss about before.
"Did you catch it?" Ekko muttered as Caitlyn stood up again.
"How he spoke about her?"
"He's had something against powder for years, she's caused some mischief, and he's the one that arrested her when she was brought to piltover," Caitlyn took a deep breath through her nose.
"He's wanted to keep her out of the under city, it's been him that's given her warnings and threats if she got to close, forbidding it," she explained and Ekko rubbed the back of his neck.
"I think that also has something to do with Silco, with her connection to hextech he might've wanted to keep her out for the same reasons she wanted to get in," Ekko paced back and forth.
He wouldn't bring up the other reason... vi, if she knew powder was alive would she have done the sickening things that she's done. They all thought powder was dead, vi was left alone in that dark city with Silco, she hated him but she hated top side more.
So if she fought with the strongest she could become stronger.
Powder didn't want others knowing that vi was her sister though, she trembled at the thought of vi finding her. Like a monster under her bed and was to afraid to check.
Silco must've known that powder was here then and wanted to keep the other sister as his weapon. To break vanders prodigy.
"We may be more of targets now, stay out of sight for now," Caitlyn warned him as Ekko went to find his friend.
"I'll see you later," he waved her off leaving her bedroom, he looked down the hall on each side and saw powder leaning against the wall towards where they entered.
She had her arms crossed and was biting her thumb nail, he could hear her mumbling a little to herself. Powder noticed him coming closer and stopped biting her nail.
"It's going to be okay," Ekko told her.
"Mhm, yea," powder fiddled with her hands.
What if Marcus got to the council first. What if he has enforcers there. What if he deems her criminal enough to send her away. She's gonna go away. Like she was meant to at the beginning. What if Jayce and Viktor and Mel and Cassandra and heimerdinger and-
What if she's thrown away.
Why can't things just work out.
She could be banished.
She didn't deserve their mercy.
It was to late
What about Ekko if she fails will he be taken too? She can't fail.
Don't fail don't fault your so stupid how can you fail?
Stupid stupid weak weak weakweakweakweak
IT WONT WORK
"Hey snap out of it," Ekko spoke up and she looked at him with her doe blue eyes.
"Sorry," she whispered rubbing her face trying to get her head on straight.
"You good?" He asked when she pushed herself off the wall.
"I'll be good, I just had to think alone for a bit, professor H not being on the council.. it's not right, that doesn't make sense, he's a founder," she sighed pulling her braid over her shoulder and played with her ends.
"B-but it won't stop us, it'll be fine," powders voice wavered but Ekko stayed by her side.
"It's fine," she whispered to herself.
