Disappointed

Powder woke up laying on the ground of a dark metal room, blankets under her to make a bed and a jacket under her head to make a pillow, she groaned rolling on her back and touched her shoulder. It didn't feel so bad anymore, there was a bandage over her torso and a few placed over her cheek, forehead and over her nose.

She sat up seeing her overalls still were around her waist, behind her there was Ekko sleeping against the wall right next to her.

"Hey," she poked his cheek and he slowly opened his eyes.

"You take a nice nap?" Powder grinned turning fully to him now.

He chuckled a little seeing she was a lot more like herself after some rest.

"Here's some water," Ekko handed her a metal bottle and she twisted the cap off to take a drink not realizing how dry her throat was.

"Thank you, for everything," powder crossed her legs.

"I'm glad you're feeling better, we have some medicine that helped with your bruises, your ribs seemed like the bone is just bruised also, no breaks," ekko nodded.

"Great, not that it feels any better but it is better than broken," powder rubbed her torso to sooth her pain.

"Also we found your friend," he made a face unsure of the girl.

"Why do you say it like that?" Powder raised a brow.

"She's got a mouth on her," Ekko smiled a little standing up.

"I swear once I'm out of here you bloody animals are going to regret it!"

Powder walked in the other room seeing Caitlyn tied with a bag over her head. She couldn't help but laugh a little at her feisty side.

Ekko motioned if he shoulder let her see and powder nodded. The other fire light, scar, went over and took the bag off her head.

"Yea you better- oh my god powder your alive!" Caitlyn gasped at her friend standing there but now injured, not how they left each other before.

"Oh powder what.. what happened?" She pursed her lips scared for the girl, powder wrapped her thin arms around her bruised torso and didn't answer.

"Did these sick fucks torture You?!" She yelled trying to get her restraints off.

"No no, this is little man, he's my friend," powder nudged Ekko, who had a cold glare on his face.

"Little man? Then how did you.. what happened? I thought you got away, I saw the flare, but when I got to it no one was around," Caitlyn was so confused.

"You think this is bad, you should see the other guy," powder tried to joke but she looked down remembering it all. Her smile dropped and Ekko placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Powder You look terrible, how did this happen?" She asked worried at the not normal behavior of the girl. Even in other fights powders gotten to it's never been this bad.

"I found vi-uh well she found me, caught me, she..." powder pursed her lips nodding and Caitlyn's eyes widen horrified.

"Vi did this to you?" She sneered.

"You know vi?" Ekko spoke up.

"I met her at the last drop," Caitlyn nodded. Scar came over and untied her hands while Ekko stayed by powders side. "I didn't know she was the extremely violent type,"

By the time Caitlyn finished her sentence she noticed powders blank stare as she looked at the floor, her hands twitching as she picked at the skin around her nails. Her breathing was uneven as she clenched her jaw. Seemed to be lost in her own mind.

"Pow," Ekko tried to get her attention.

"Powder," he tried again and she finally snapped out of her thoughts.

"I'm fine, I'll be good as new in no time," powder tried to convince them with a smile but they both looked worried.

"You haven't taken your meds since we've been here have you?" Caitlyn stood up as she went to powder worried.

"Meds?" Ekko looked at cait frowning.

"I've been off those for years Girl Scout, old news," powder snorted waving it off.

"You don't need them?" Caitlyn didn't buy the lie.

"Haven't for a while, ask Jayce," she smiled confidently not letting her catch her bluff.

"Anyways, we have other stuff to discuss," Ekko could feel the tension between them and tried to move forward.

"Yea like taking down Silco, I brought my fire power, what do you have?" Powder held up her baggie with the gemstone inside.

"I wish it was just that easy to go knock on his door and kill him, he's got more people on his side than we know, people in the undercity and topside," Ekko shook his head.

"Who in topside?" She asked curiously.

"Word is, enforcers, not sure who specifically but they don't bother him so much as they bother the rest of us," he shook his head and Caitlyn shuffled uncomfortably.

"Well while you solve that puzzle I'll go knock on his door," powder went to leave but he grabbed her arm quickly.

"Pow," he whispered and she pursed her lips.

"Why didn't you tell me she works for Silco?" Powder scoffed shaking her head.

"I didn't want you to come down here because of that," ekko let go. He looked at scar to take Caitlyn away so they could have a private conversation. Caitlyn understood they had history, she didn't want to leave but scar insisted.

"Do you know why?" Powder turned back to him unamused.

"No, I can't understand why she would work for Silco, she hates him but follows his orders, works along side of sevika, I don't know why," ekko sounded hurt by her betrayal as well, he use to look up to vi so much, like she was his hero.

"She got me too once, when I thought I was going bring my friend back, I was in a similar state to you," he sighed shaking his head. Tapping the end of his eye brow where there was a scar.

"If she wants to ruin her life then let her, she's not going to stand in my way, I'm not that weak little girl she left to the enforcers," powder tsked narrowing her eyes.

"She's not my sister, I don't care what happens to her anymore, but I do care now about the people I left behind," she shook her head with a huff.

Ekko didn't know what more to say, she was definitely hurt by Vi's betrayal and more, but he appreciated her for the determination to fix the undercity.

"Caitlyn's mom is a council member, and I'm good friends with two others, if it comes to it we'll involve them, get their help," powder offered after a few moments of silence.

"So she really is a topside priss," he hummed amused.

"Hey my friend there is an enforcer topside priss, excuse you," she couldn't help but smile at him and they chuckled together.

"How do you end up with people like that? Small chance I'd assume," Ekko leaned against the wall crossing his arms.

"Jayce worked with her when she was young and was a friend of their family, connections, but she means well, she just hasn't seen how people like us are treated," powder rested against the wall next to him and laid her head back.

"You're still treated differently even though..." he trailed off and she nodded.

"They don't look at me like I'm an animal anymore but there's tension sometimes still, like the monster could try to get them at any moment, probably cause I'm a problem child but they just don't get how to really have fun," she snickered but there was still disappointment.

"So are you gonna help me kill Silco?" She looked up with her big blue eyes as Ekko hesitated.

"You joining the firelights?" He offered.
