Cowardly
Milo sat at the empty bar listening to music on a lower volume, he didn't want it to be sound raging loud when it didn't have to be. Not in his safe place. At least vi wasn't beating on them anymore for the whole powder situation.
God... powder was alive this whole time? She looked unrecognizable, she's what- 18 now? She looked so childishly innocent but so grown and cold at the same time. And she went by jinx...
That was his fault.
How could be say such terrible things to a child? But was she as evil now as everyone makes her seem to be? What did vi want to do in the end? Say they got jinx again, what then?
Milo spun around when he heard the door open but no one was there. The door was closed already. He rubbed his face looking around for any sign of people but it was silent.
"Maybe I shouldn't drink so much," Milo whispered putting his head down and folded his arms over his head.
"Yea people might start thinking you're an alcoholic or something," a voice scared him and Milo fell out of his chair with a scream.
"But who am I to judge?" Jinx sat on the counter across from Milo, she waved innocently as she poured herself a drink.
"Fuck powder, what are you doing?" Milo spat pulling himself up but his eyes widen seeing Ekko right behind her, sitting on the stool looking cold and annoyed.
"We just want to talk," powder said seriously now and crossed her legs.
"What's there to talk about?" Milo sat quietly and kept his head down.
"Silco, where is he?" She asked in a low tone.
Milo laughed shaking his head.
"You think you're the first to want to try doing something about Silco?" He laughed bitterly.
"No, but some of us don't coward away cause the one time was to hard," Ekko sneered at him. Over the years Ekko lost all respect and care for the older three kids that use to be there for him. But things change.
"Don't call me a coward," Milo slammed his fist on the counter but neither of the kids were intimidated.
"Then tell me where I can put a bullet in Silcos head," powder stared him down.
"I-I can't, sevika, vi, they'll kill me," he begged them but he finally looked at powder.
Her eye was bruised to hell, with a bandage on her cheek next to it. Two more clean bandages on who knows what kind of wounds over her forehead and bridge of her nose. He noticed at the bottom of the gap of her overalls there was more. Vi did that all.
"Then what's stopping me from killing you too? If your not going to help me then your no use," powder held up the gemstone and pushed it into her gun as a threat.
"Ekko your allowing this? She's crazy! Look at her!" Milo sat up now more afraid for his life.
"Watch your mouth," Ekko glared. "Don't look at me for help, I'm not your friend,"
"And she is?! I mean for fucks sake we all thought the little lunatic was dead! Now she's back and acting like she's some zaun royalty?" Milo motioned to her and powder smiled at the idea.
"I think I would be pretty good at that," she hummed to Ekko.
"Fuck! See! She's crazy!" Milo cried out standing up.
"She's not crazy," ekko stated standing up with him.
"You haven't seen her then at the crazy, it's a fucking lie," he put his hands up turning away.
Powder covered her face and whimpered into her hands. A whiney long cry that made her shoulders shake and Milo held his breath seeing he made her cry.
"P-powder, I'm sorry I... I didn't mean it," Milo went behind the bar to comfort her but as soon as he got within arms reach, powder grabbed and slammed him into the countertop.
"Youre so easy," powder smile down at him as she pressed her hand into the back of his neck.
"Let me go, please powder!" Milo cried out as she pressed harder.
"People are just like little gadgets, you press the right button and they'll be the best investment you've ever made, you press the wrong button then you consider them broken, and throw, them, out," powder whispered in his ear as Milo gulped looking up at Ekko.
"You get what I'm saying?" She hummed.
"Once vi gets her hands on you, you'll be beaten so bad that you won't be walking," Milo gasped for a breath and powder sneered down at him.
"Then I better send her a message," powder grabbed her gun and pressed it into the side of Milo's head.
Ekko held his breath now seeing what she would do, it was bluffing to make him squirm but if it came down.. would she pull the trigger?
"If you want something done, then just tell us where to find him, we won't say it was you," Ekko leaned against the counter to get leveled with Milo.
"Otherwise I'm turning around, and I won't see anything that happens after that," he shrugged and Milo looked truly afraid.
"Ok ok ok! I'll tell you!" Milo caved and powder let go of him and backed off.
"Jeez took long enough, you really know how to piss me off," powder smiled putting her hands up.
"You both are fucking crazy, your good cop bad copping me?" Milo looked at them wide eyes backing from both of them.
Ekko narrowed his eyes waiting for the answer they came from, not taking his eyes off the older man.
"Y-you're gonna die doing this, fucking crazy," he rubbed his face frustrated.
"For how afraid you are, you're pretty loyal to Silco," powder raised her brow.
"I didn't get much of a choice, you'd know Ekko, I thought you were better than this?" Milo whined a little and Ekko kept his cold stare.
"Fine, his office is here... but I don't know where he is if he's not here," Milo crossed his arms looking down and powder glared now.
"He's been here? The whole time?" Ekko asked bitterly, powder looked over at shoulder at a door she knew lead to a hall.
"Vanderrrr just let us go play outside, we promise we'll stay on the block," eight year old powder knocked on the door as she and Ekko waited for him.
"Kids, it's middle of the night, the older ones are already in for the night, you should be too," vander opened his office door with his pipe in hand.
"But we're not tired," Ekko groaned throwing his head back.
"Oi I know better than that, your an hour before crashing," Benzo laughed from inside the office. The little boy pouted.
"So what, it's so quiet right now," powder moved her way into the office and sat next to benzo on the sofa.
"Cause the drunks are finding their way home, it's not safe for you littler ones," vander knelt down to her with a soft smile.
"I never get to do anything without the big kids," she pouted now crossing her arms.
Vander looked at benzo for help as the two young-ins were obviously upset.
"Alright alright, I think I can handle an hour of some late night fun, can you benzo?" Vander sighed deeply pushing himself up.
"An hour? This old man can have an hour of fun," benzo chuckled standing with him.
"Well? You kids gonna come play?" Vander asked smiling as powder and Ekko looked more than excited to have their guardians play with them.
"Jinx?" Milo noticed her spacing out.
Powder didn't even notice that they stopped talking and was waiting on her, she slid around the counter and started to walk towards the door to the hall, she held her gun tightly. Raising it to the door and powered it on.
"You think if I pulled the trigger... it would hit him from here?" Powder rasped as the weapon was charging up.
"He's not here, lunatic," Milo rolled his eyes.
"Then I'll be ready for when he is," she smiled back.
