Twisted

by pain,

sinking deeper into your skin,

as if a needle breaking your flesh,

the pain unbearable

yet you bare it anyways

your lips hold truths no one

wants to hear,

so you sew your mouth shut

and hold in your suffering

you feel alone,

so you stitch your shadow to you,

as if you were Peter Pan

your blood is blue

because you are drowning

in your own self,

time wraps itself around you

and pulls you everytime you

want to move on,

so you can always be stuck in past,

where pain and suffering claim you as theirs,

you are their victim,

their consort,

their vessel,

their host

you share your blood with them,

your body with them,

your mind with them

they abuse you like a vintage doll,

shattering your shell,

your layers of protection,

strapping a collar around your neck,

and pulling you along with them

you are their feast,

their prey,

while they are your predator

the scars on your body

marks the contract you signed,

engraving your name

on a dagger they placed in your hand

you know what to do,

their voice chimming in your head

you listen to every command

because you know the punishment if not

but soon...

you will cut away the strings

of pain and suffering around you,

as if an invisible spider web,

you will free yourself from

their grasp,

and become free at last.
